Good thing I didn't hear this before buying the Mimic. I wouldn't have paid $2000 for it if I did. I bought it, though, and love it.
dumb question, but this doesn’t change the pads velocity response will it? you’d need more expensive pads for that, right?
I hate to tell you but the rack tom was not record with a ride cymbal sympathetic sound. Your excitement at 4:30 was actually reflective of an undesired cross-talk phenomenon, which should be dialed out.
I tried yamaha, Roland td30, Td50 and I sold everything. Now I have Mimic Pro and I have to say it's best.☢

for the sweet price of $3000 Canadian, at this point if you already own a laptop SD3 is a better option if your looking for quality samples. I understand that this has its market but come on.. I would have bought the mimic hands down if it was $1500.

If you hear ride when playing the rack tom, it's cross talk - it's not in the sample :)
You can dial in room ambience in to each sample of the kit on the module. More in-depth video to follow!

So if you buy one of the most expensive modules on the market, it sounds better than a 10 year old kit, that the whole kit didn't cost that amount back in the day???
Plus the Pearl Mimic is not exactly new, i tried one back in 2017. So could it be they're trying to clear their stock before they get the new Pearl Emerge???
Did you actually hear Pearl Emerge? It's not even close to Mimic. Emerge is more like TD20. There is Pearl USA, which makes Mimic and Pearl Japan, which makes Emerge. Different companies, different products.
@@mixandrecord4536 Haven't had the chance to try the Emerge yet. If it's like a TD20, I won't be upgrading my TD20 to one.
This video is to show how 10 years of electric drums have evolved. This is the first time we have had stock of the Pearl Mimic because it has been so popular. We also don't know the ETA of the Emerge. They are completely different products. All the best!

Anything electronic 10 years old should sound like crap or ur all paying for incremental increases in performance in pearls like 2nd drum machine ? Roland has 100 drum machines and they all sound like crap .
