This is not "country". This is the REAL $#!7. Stories of legends IN SONG FORM. Not the "somebody stole my truck, couple Budlights last night, make you cum every night, girl" crap
Trust me on this folks- one of the best concerts you could ever go to. He just doesn't play and sing.. he gives a complete performance and leaves thinking you definitely got your moneys worth!
This man is from Leland, North Carolina. That's the town just across the river from the City of Wilmington. It's a beautiful place, and we're proud to be the home of such a talented musician as Mr. Daniels.
Charlie was a great entertaining gentleman and a wonderful man. I attended one of his concerts and was totally won over by his great skills RIP you wonderful man
People tend to associate country with the stuff that's coming out today, and I'd agree with you that stuff, along with basically everything else that comes out nowadays, is pretty much crap. The CD band are from the 70's and if you like them then there are some other good country/southern rock bands I could recommend for you: The Marshall Tucker Band ("Can't you see"), The Allman Brothers ("Ramblin Man"), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, etc.
thesmokinggun42 I would hardly call The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Molly Hatchet country bands. They are classic rock. I know this because the radio station I listen to (100.7) is a classic rock station and they play these groups all the time. I do appreciate the suggestions, though.
Love this man, Charlie Daniels! My first ever concert was Marshall Tucker band with The Charlie Daniels band at the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga. I don't think anything got any better than that!!!
i hate how every comment is about how he looks like santa,or "i dont know how i got here.".well heres how i got here,i searched "charlie daniels" in the search box because i was looking for this song, and charlie daniels is a freakin' awesome fiddle player, and why dislike the video?IF YOU DONT LIKE CHARLIE DANIELS THEN WHY DID YOU COME HERE!?
The streets had awesome cars. I was born in 1997, so only cars to see on the road were just Corvettes. Never was around Vipers or Lamborghinis like I'd wished
No one & no ever will be able to play the fiddle like Charlie Daniels could. That was the best song he had ever written & sang, but I'm kinda one sided with the song "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" cause I was born & raised in the good old southern state of Georgia & Damn Proud Of It. Tiffany Deaton
My sister is such a bible thumper she won't listen to any CDB because of this song. I have it on my cell and I love playing it when our family goes out to eat because she plugs her ears and heads to the nearest exit, prays for my soul, then before returning she asks the waitress to check our table and tell her if the song is over. Jeez I love this song.
I'm a proud Bible Thumper and have no problem with this. Anytime that Satan takes a lick sounds good to me ;). Tell her to listen to CDB's The Door or Steel Cross. He's got lots of Christian songs.
Yeah i don’t get what is so bad about this. I’m a Christian and love it. It’s not the original where he cusses at the end. Sounds to me she needs to study up on Jesus and compassion and love more. We are ALL sinners. All have sinned and fallen short. Period.
I remember dancing to this. You had to move your feet fast. Really fast. Incredibly fast. No way I can do that now...I'd fall over my own two feet! Love this song!
Yes' Just seen him tonight in Mid Michigan and Willie, at the Soaring Eagle Casino, goodness could you smell the weed, because it was out side! But this old lady had a ball!
@@gotch09 I watched a Brer fox video (re the Tar Baby) the other day on youtube and I was still in the zone... USA governance frankly is a worry to us Commonwealth members and I was trying to reflect that in a Deep sth way. That is to say Trumpeldor is sacking them and cussing them (sane ones too) and .. where will it all end up ?? That's assuming we are talking about the same chap. (NZ and Australia live very much under a US protective umbrella - people in the US may not be aware of that - my doggerel Brer fox reflects that). NZ has zero defensive warplanes for instance. Switzerland has them !
You are either blind as a bat, or have a terrible monitor, because you can as plain as the nose on your face see the cord and plug in the side of the fiddle.
looseballs1966 he was referring to at the very beginning you couldn't hear it and i think he had to hold it up to the mic. cuz it was kinda cutting out
paintballgun10 Yea just watched it again, I see what you mean now didn't catch it the first time, you'd a thought I would have as well as I caught the cord thing lol, oh well my bad, peace be in the kingdom lol
For y’all few that are complaining the black woman called the 70s glory days, the mid-late 70s weren’t bad for us, it was late 60s and prior, then it slowly started to get better and still isn’t perfect yet That doesn’t take away any of the amazing ness that is this song
Now he's playing the fiddle in Heaven. We love ya Charlie.
Yes he is
Yes!
He’s now playing in heaven but legends never die.
Rest in peace old boy (: 83 years of glory and happiness .love you Charlie

I'm not fan of country but this song is legend
I have so much respect
Also the Urban Cow boy the movie & the song ????
To be older country was much better and original today it sucks ass
This is not "country". This is the REAL $#!7. Stories of legends IN SONG FORM. Not the "somebody stole my truck, couple Budlights last night, make you cum every night, girl" crap
I’d consider this rock
I don't like country but MAN I never knew the most badass song I know was this LOL so good!!!
I agree. I'm a Christian and i listen to this song every day
sound mixer must have been a drummer because that is all you hear
Kenyan Legs Well drums are great. I agree the fiddle shoulda been louder but the drums are perfect
The Deval is yur soul

Charlie was a great entertaining gentleman and a wonderful man. I attended one of his concerts and was totally won over by his great skills RIP you wonderful man
We'll miss you. Rest In Peace, Charlie.
I'm a punk rock fan and a 80's metal band fan, but there's some thing about a country fiddle that gets my toes tapping. Love it.
Charlie is still alive and still pickin!!!!! Just had a big 80th birthday party in November in Wilmington N.C.!!!!!!
RIP 😥
Charlie Daniel's will always have that magic touch in his music.
Watching Charlie perform this song in the modern day is giving me serious chills.
I like Charlie Daniels and I like that song. Thanks!
Still got it 40 years later
I don't know what keeps this man going..great music....God's grace..Charlie, not saying your old...but you are almost my dads age..

Im not big into country but still, good for you :)
I'm not even into this genre and this is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen.
I bet Tenacious D had this song in mind when writing Tibute
+SelfReferencingName You know they did. Could never compare with Charlie
+Garrett Powell its because it was just a tribute the actually song that tenacious d played to the devil was much greater
my thought do.. plus dueling bangoes in film deliverance
hmmm, yeah maybe, personally though I can't help but think of Zappa's 'Titties and Beer' when I hear it.
+Deanna Lynne literally just watched that movie lol
Music today will never top that.
Saw him in concert years ago and WOW!! He must have played this for 15-20 minutes and it was incredible!!!

The most difficult tune to play on Guitar Hero III !
through the fire and flames was harder
+Winged Assassin I disagree
Winged Assassin Nah mate DWDTG was harder by a mile
Quasar hmm cant agree with that
Yann M. im with you on that. me and some friends just beat the game on hard and DWDTG is much more difficult
Who in our culture remember this song
Freaking AMAZING!!!
I was lucky I got play in an orchestra with my cello while they had this incredible purple electric violin. love you ms. Weiss wherever you are

Your a HORRIBLE person

It was based on this song
Olde "Country" Music....Awesome....
But did they do it on expert?

The keyboard player looks like he is in the witness protection program.

His fiddle wasn't plugged in!
You are either blind as a bat, or have a terrible monitor, because you can as plain as the nose on your face see the cord and plug in the side of the fiddle.

my wife just gave me a row for shouting "yeeeeha"! brilliant stuff
Interesting seeing a black american woman calling 1979 the "glory days".
Ted Crunkhorn if you couldn't tell she was forced to say it
what? the 70s was the time of Disco and the Afro. I think your confused with the 1960s
Ted Crunkhorn praly cuz it's CD
Ted Crunkhorn HAHHAHHAHAHA
someone cant take a joke lmfao
Now he's playing a fiddle of gold. But it's not gold, It's just from the greatness of heaven.
The devil lives in the Whitehouse....
mokotramp he's now gone Opama Bin Laden left
And to think that even after this was recorded he kept on the road for another decade. Never gets old listening to his music.
