Well, pinoys are chill about this. If they don't want pinoy nurses because of finnish language skills, then we shouldn't. I don't understand why we need to send nurses there in the first place if that's their concern. Let the finnish solve their own nurse shortage problems then. I mean, if nurses want to work overseas, there are other countries to choose from. 😊
I love the Filipino nurses in Singapore's hospital! They are lovely, have a warm personality and a sweet and kind smile. If the Finns do not welcome Filipino nurses, please choose Singapore!
Finland can deal with it themselves. One doesn’t have to be in the land of so called happiest country. There’s a vast opportunities outside their country where Filipino nurses can be appreciated and respected.
Been working in the US as a nurse for several years, same thing. I have experienced racism from other nurses and patients. It isn’t ideal but it is the world we live in. No matter which country you go, whether it be the US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Korea or the middle east, you will experience discrimination. Every overseas Filipino worker has lived this. To survive in a country that is not your own, Kelangan maging matatag at wag balat sibuyas. Don’t expect people to adapt to you, you need to adapt kasi andun ka sa bansa nila. When in Rome, be a Roman. Europe is overburdened with their refugee crisis and all the problems that come with it. Traditionally, left leaning governments are now veering towards the right, and along that policies and attitudes towards migration are becoming conservative. That is all over the world, not just Finland. Finland wants to reduce the number of refugees that come to their country but they are willing to increase and issue more work-based visas. The fact that the Finnish government are willing to open their country to Filipino nurses, means they recognize, as have so many countries before them, our competency as nurses and work ethics. Don’t go to any country thinking everything will be smooth sailing and without hardship. The most difficult thing to overcome when you move overseas is homesickness and overcoming the cultural barriers. Ika nga culture shock is real. You will meet a LOT of ignorant people, but don’t let that hamper you from achieving your dreams. Let it be an opportunity for you to represent our country well and educate them about why we are in demand all over the world. Apply Lang ng apply mga kapatid.
@pearldans5640, yes you are right racism is everywhere but it does not mean you will tolerate the way those Fins to be looking down on pinoy nurses. I have lived in 3 different countries Middle East, Canada and now in the US and had worked in a bank, airline and hospital in the administrative level, modesty aside I have never experienced being seen or treated differently, because I speak my mind. No one in my 40 years overseas work experience have I encountered a co-worker or out of my workplace said to my face or commented negatively just because I'm from the Philippines. Perhaps behind my back maybe. I have a number of situations where I stood up for myself even at a younger age, first was in UAE, the General Manager of the Bank I worked, who happened to be an Englishman from Yorkshire when I overheard him mocking on a housemaid he spoke on the phone and he presumed a pinay, after he hung the phone I confronted him and said "excuse me sir, not all Filipinas does not know English or could not speak, how on earth did you know the person you spoke with was from the Philippines". Guess what, he apologized to me because he felt I was so furious about his ignorance, and later found out that the maid he spoke was from India. 2nd situation was two of my officemates British, an Auditor and the other Plant Engineer, that whenever I pass by they were looking at my legs and swamping me with their paperworks, so what I did to give them heck of their lives, I went and talk directly to our Regional Director and both were reprimanded and from then on they're afraid to give me paperworks and quit looking at my legs avoiding me. 3rd scenario, a British secretary of another department who gets more pay than I get despite the fact I was the one who trained her, what I did I approached the bank's CEO (same bank) and said "What does she know that I don't know, in fact I was the one who trained her",,, in an instant my pay $ got revised...4th scenario, a German Canadian lady about 5'8" tall and I am 4'11", she's a Lab Tech who tried to shut me up not wanting me to ask her about work, I raised my voice at her and said "so what?" and the next day I complained to her Supervisor, a few days later she became nice to me...and I have more scenarios but I might run out of space to type on. What I am saying is, it does not matter who they are where they came from, they are just like us who eats, poops, burp, fart etc...why would you let them belittle us. You are right, we adjust by learning their language but never let your guard down and let them do and say anything that may offend us. In my opinion, if its their country who sought help by hiring foreign nurses, then it is the responsibility of their government or their hospital administration to educate their people that the world does not evolve with their own only, if you open your door to someone it means you accept whatever they bring along with them. simple as that.
Nowhere in my statement did I state Filipinos should tolerate racism, did I? I only said that racism is everywhere. It is the world we live in. As a matter of fact, you enumerated numerous instances from your personal experience which only further supported my premise above which is that EVERYWHERE YOU GO YOU WILL ENCOUNTER RACISM. Pero nasa applicante na yan, if they allow that to hinder their dreams of living and working abroad. READING COMPREHENSION PO. Mema lang eh.
Filipinos can't speak their language? Filipinos can't speak English? How did they get to Finland without knowing how to communicate? Can they speak Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilonggo, Ilocano, Chavacano, Karay-a, etc.😂😂😂😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅
The only way to solve the problem Search the problem then find the solution What. About the Administration Dont the offer orientation Filipinos should unite because in unity there is strength That is one of our Weakness, No unity in the work place for fear of the unknown Then don't go to Finland
I seldom write a comment on UA-cam, but this time I feel the urge to do so. I am a filipino by birth but now a danish citizen. Denmark and Finland are what we call Nordic countries. Here in Denmark there is also lack of nurses, and it has been a topic at the parliament to hire Filipino nurses. If Denmark follows after Finlands solution to the problem, there will surely arise the same “issues”. But basically what I am saying is, always wear your heads up high because Filipino nurses are very capable for the job.
Thank you very much for your comment. We are indeed capable. The shortage of nurses is a global problem. I hope each nation’s government finds a sensible solution.
The question is, is there any other solution? This is a labor shortage that isn't available locally! If their concern is be able to communicate in local language immediately, then they should follow Japan's solution.
@@LarryfromPH thank you for commentibg. There is a solution, that is to make recruitment agencies to be more strict with their language requirements and conduct language courses for the nurses they hired once they are here in Finland. I am curious about what Japan does I have to look into that.
@@LarryfromPH I also would love to hear which actions have been made to solve the language problems. I heard that Sweden also is hiring Filipino nurses, and they already offer swedish language in the Philippines, specifically in Baguio, for interested Filipino nurses.
@@Finnspirational thank you for raising this issue❣️You are an inspiration to other Filipinos, who aspire to work in non-english speaking countries. As for Denmark, there are many Filipinos with nursing degrees, who came to work here first as “au pairs”, then later married there danish man. It is one of the solutions the parliament has taken, but it is taking quite some time now to process. No definite solution yet.
True. We experienced racism in our workplace. Hi ndi nila ina-acknowledge ang educational system ng Pinas. So for them akala nila joke lang yung tinapos natin. Pero pag nurse ka lalabas at lalabas talaga skills mo when it is needed. Tsaka excuse me we're paying the same tax as them. Heads up mga Kunars! 😊
Hello! I was born in Finland and live in Canada. When I heard how beautifully you speak Finnish I just had to smile. Your willingness to uproot yourself from everything you've ever known to practice nursing in Finland is to be commended. 😊
Wow! You speak fluent Finnish, not to mention English. Thank you for speaking on behalf of your fellow countrymen. Our Pinoy nurses work in so many countries they rely on them because they're efficient and competent. That's why I find it hard to believe your host country who are known to be one of the happiest nations say otherwise. Filipinos are quick learners in learning a new language and that is why they are able to work in non English-speaking countries. (Ang napansin ko nga sa isang youtuber na Pinoy iyong asawa laging nakasimangot in contrast to their well known trait!). New subscriber here. 😃
@@lermadonnachie735 I really appreciate your comment. My mother instilled in us the importance of education. I guess that’s what makes me strive to gain fluency in the languages that I study. I keep in mind that whatever I learn, may it be a language or a skill, can never ever be stolen from me, and I can benefit from it one way or another. Thanks for subscribing and commenting❤️
I wish the Philippines can someday be reasonably well-off, self-sufficient, & well-invested so that our people do not have migrate to far away places; separate from family & friends; leave the land & culture we embrace. Maybe this will be the century where Philippine industry can employ a majority of our people & the only reason to leave our country will be for travel & tour.
First, you should see that NO VIDEOS LIKE THIS EXIST. Second, we do not look for work ABROAD. LIKE THE SO CALLED "AMERICAN DREAM". 3RD CONTENTMENT 4th we do not look at English as a 2nd language na parang sosyal ka kapag nageenglish ka. Dapat mawala tong mga ganitong thinking. Kapag ngyari tong mga to. That's the time na self sufficient na to.
That will never happen because the prevailing thought in the country is to work abroad as soon as possible instead of staying and demanding improvement in our current system. Di katulad ng ibang bansa na kadalasan nananatili mga tao nila sa hirap at ginhawa, kaya bansa rin nila nakikinabang
stay grounded... i have 4 nurses cousins working in UK, Canada, US and the Middle East.. i guess our Nurses are one of a kind, hence the demand abroad. God bless ❤
Finn here, hi! My problem with recruiting foreigners is due to the pay. Finland doesn't want to pay nurses the pay they deserve. That's why we are shopping cheaper workers from foreign countries and that tramples the fair pay grade for nurses. To be fair I don't know how much you get payd. If it's as much as finns then I don't have any problem but I doubt. And I personally don't have any problem that foreigners come here to work in any capacity. My problem is with the Finnish goverment that doesn't want to pay rightful salarys, not the foreign labor force. People learn other languages all the time, we know that, heck we study four languages in the elementary school as a rule. So, perconally, I wellcome you to Finland!
Hi. Thank you for your comment. Foreign workers are paid at the same rate, however for nurses they do not get to work as registered nurses. Some are hired as hoiva-avustaja while studying to be a lähihoitaja. So for those who studied for a 4-year AMK degree in the Philippines, they will be paid less than they deserve unless they will attend a pätevöitymiskoulutus. I don’t know if the recruitment agencies give their applicants that option.
Jusme! There has always been a demand for nurses worldwide because the shortage is also worldwide. Sa Pinas mimso, may shortage. Hindi kawalan ang Finland if they don't hire Pinoy nurses. They need us, not the other way around.
Hindi talaga. They should make the nursing profession more inviting to their newer generation if they solely want their own kind to take care of them. Or they should perfect robotics for health care.
Go girl! We Filipinos have each other’s back. You’re positivity and resilience will guide the future of Filipinos who would one day go to Finland. Be the stronghold of change in a country that lacks diversity
Just happened to see your Vlogg. My empathy to all our kapwa nurses. I'm here in Münich, and I could say the same experience when I started here. I couldn't open my mouth maski ini insulto na. But learning the language has it's edge. Respetado nang mga kasama at, nakikipag sabayan minsan sa insultuhan. Pero mas grabe ang mga reactions nang mga Fins! I'm glad though I'm here at all those hardships are behind me now. Plus mga doctors mismo ang nag NURSES SOS, dahil sa ka kulangan nang workers. Enjoyed your down to earth Video!❤
I agree with them. Just go to the country that is easy to communicate unless you're fluent in their own national language. Hayaan niyo na sila sa bansa nila kung sino ang gusto nilang imbitahin para magtrabajo. Let them be. Pabayaan niyo sila kulang sa mga nurses. Kahit dito sa US kulang din ang mga nurses and in 2025 talagang malaki ang kakulangan ng mga nurses. Nurse din ako here in california. Im not sure kung nag iimport ang US ng nurses from the Philippines right now. Dami nga south koreans madali lang silang nagka greencard.
The fact that they are worried that Filipinos "lack" Finnish language tells what exactly their situation is. It is easy for Filipinos to learn a new language as it is part of the job. If Finns thinks this way, it only tells us that they can't easily learn Italian or German language neither despite their language a relative of Romance or Nordic language. If Finns are worried about "language barrier" then you should tell them to be a nurse then. Oh, I would love sending them messages one by one, those who gave an angry button.
Thank you very much. @ronberi here’s a link to one of the articles: m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0jE42d8guKqXUHiL86Ye2x3dnoPA8BKw1GKL4K8PCPpayufLHroYjRQBzceJJiydXl&id=48859861462
Finnish is a finno-urgic language, and therefore one of the few non-indoeuropean languages in Europe. So it will be more difficult for English speakers (such as filipinos) to learn than German, Spanish etc. That said, I'd swap a little language fluency for a kind respectful nature, any day. I'm speaking both as a patient and a workmate of Filipino nurses. Sadly other nurses sometimes mistake kindness for weakness.
"Mutta se ei ole mahdotonta oppia sitä" is not correct Finnish, but has an English structure"se ei ole" or "it is not". To say that correctly in Finnish the sentence should simply be "Mutta ei ole mahdotonta oppia sitä". Finnish grammar is different from what is common in Indo-European languages, and you make exactly the same mistake that is common to Swedish speakers that learn Finnish. This mistake does not make it impossible to understand you, but realizing you can make a mistake of this kind - invent a subject in a sentence where in Finnish there is none - means you can make a mistake that changes the meaning of what you say to something that you did not mean. And then you get an answer to a question that is different from what you thought you were asking, and the chain of misunderstanding starts. Therefore the language barrier is real and you should take it more seriously. Many of the elderly people have not studied any foreign languages and are not comfortable in an environment that is not completely Finnish or Swedish speaking. Even I have sometines a hard time understanding rather complete and technically correct Finnish sentences by foreigners, as they may choose a way of constructing a sentence in a way a Finn would never do. That said no kind of racism is of course not acceptable, although unfortunately it is rather common in Finland. Hate speech is even more common in the internet than in real life, as some of the racists are active racists and spread their message 8 hours a day in the net as if it was their job. Therefore in real life you may encounter less racism, but to some extent you will.
@@sampohonkala4195 Thanks for commenting. Misunderstanding occurs even if 2 people speak the same language. Communication is a 2- way street, one can always clarify what the other person meant. The chain of misunderstanding would immediately end by just simply clarifying. I am not taking language barrier lightly, I am actually encouraging people to learn Finnish if they choose to work here.
@@Finnspirational I work in an office where roughly 30% of the staff are foreigners. In most teams the working language is therefore English. There are two British and two American workers but for most English is a second or third language. I can ensure that the risk of misunderstanding is multiple times grater than when working in Finnish, although all have a master's degree and several years of experience working in Finland, and generally speak good English. But of course it is possible to succeed and in many jobs the language is not the most important part - if it was we would not hire foreigners at our office.
Finland happiest place for Finns, not necessarily for foreigners, especially foreign workers who face discrimination, insults and injustice from every country they enter, not just Finland.
@@Finnspirational They're probably have the people who are most comfortable in life as a whole compared to the world so that makes them think they are happiest people in the world but the outward expressions of joy such as smiles, laughter, or others being absent or sparing says different. Being comfortable does not mean you are happy, you just believe this is as good as it gets.
@@rap3208 you are absolutely right. I am comfortable and contented here as well. It's a safe place to live, nature is beautiful, transactions in government offices are seamless.
@@Finnspirational Had I not lived in Sweden from the start, I would have chosen to have immigrated to Finland instead of Sweden. I think when they say "the happiest" it does not mean feeling funny. I think it means "the Most Comfortable Life to Live."
Oh thank you for this, atleast I won't assume that everything will be smooth there. I've been living in Spain for 6 years and been having a direct interaction with the locals at workplace and in school as I studied here but I've never encountered such hatred or bullying thing. I will have to prepare myself for those critism so it won't affect my whole being when I arrive there. I'm trying my best to learn Finnish language but it's not that easy, it requires a lot of time and motivation.
There are laws against discrimination and bullying in the workplace. It is not likely that you'd experience anything barbaric in real life. The internet, however, is where some think that they can get away with anything. Good luck on your studies
Filipino nurses works worldwide . What will be the world without the Filipinos ? Working for 38 yrs now here in Norway. I came here without knowing the language and my first working place was operating room where I work with diff Scandinavic nurses and doctors .After 19 yrs in OR I got latex allergy and need to think of my health , so I decided to study and took post op graduate in Mental health or psychistric nursing. Now Im still working in mental hospital for 18 yrs and still kicking. Mabuhay and we Filipinos learn the language eventually cuz here speaks in Norweigian. I understand Danish N Swedish but not the Finish language.

Before going to work..PRAY and after …PRAY again. I would to say Life gets better 🙏🙏🙏
Yes, huwag kayong magpapatalo sa mga ibang lahi. Pag tinanong kayo kung what kind of languages you speak, sabihin niyo na my father's language, my mother's language, our national language and English language. Sabihin niyo rin na "yes, our country has a shortage for nurses, but that's because we care about others before ourselves. Salary, maybe the other factor but compassion and empathy overshadow the salary".
So they will reply back to you, if so, if You care about others before yourselves”, why did you leave your country people who needed you? It will only make them doubt you more because it sounded from your statement that you care more about the people abroad than that of your own countrymen. What kind of justification is that??
When nurses are shorted in my country, there's what called "Bayanihan", that means family members can step in and fill the gap of a nurse and other obligation to the patient, so the nurse can unload a little bit of a burden on taking care of so many patient. Filipinos are resilient and creative in many ways when it comes to caring humanity. It is not justification but rather how to be a humanitarian in many ways. Filipinos are unique when it comes to caring a fellow human being. In the Philippines, rarely you will see a nursing home and nobody dies alone unlike in many other countries.
@uhrrrrangels I moved to Finland for personal reasons. Back then I didn't know that I would end up practicing my nursing profession. We all have the right to choose our own paths and shouldn't be judged for our choices. I don't care if they doubt me as long as I am doing my job.
One thing that I've observed to some Filipino workers overseas is that they talked about kung gaano sila kahirap sa Pilipinas kaya sila nag-abroad para kumita ng mas malaking pera. Hindi nila alam na yung salita nila na yun ay magagamit against them, so hindi maganda ang paawa-awa na pananalita, dahil nga gagamitin nila yun para humamak sa mga Pilipino in general.
It is fine! I worked in Saudi Arabia where I was able to do my work without learning Arabic. Filipinos are flexible and don’t give a care to anyone’s complaint. To all would be nurse in Finland,go for it. Don’t be scared. Anywhere in the world, there are racist even here sa US.. closeted lang.
It is unfortunate that some people equate language ability to competence. This is just ignorance. If they lack the manpower to care for their own people then having foreign health care workers, even nurses, is a win for them. The least their government should do is provide these workers with language courses until these reach a certain level of fluency. Most of the world don’t speak Finnish and the desire for people to learn that language is probably close to nil - save for these nurses who would leave their home countries to go to a country where they don’t speak the language and are not even welcome. They should be glad these nurses are willing to go there…. (Shaking my head in disbelief.)
Thanks for your comment. It is really unfortunate. I’ve heard that recruitment agencies provide online language courses for 6 -8 months which is not enough in my opinion.
Why work in a toxic environment ? The work is stressful and comments like this is not productive to all nurses. Does it boils down to rascism? Those are undertones to ……..thank you for being so brave to speak out.

I appreciate you sharing this. This situation happens even in a predominantly English language country. I feel the initial reaction of most Filipinos is to get upset upon hearing this. Well try not to! For those Filipino nurses living in Finland, take this as a challenge. Learn the languange and believe that knowledge is power. You will find such satisfaction when you achieve something, rub it in those naysayers faces who thought you're good for nothing. Go get 'em!!! 🎉
I think they just say that as an excuse... the real threat for them is the INFLUX OF THIS PARTICULAR RACE DOMINATING THEIR COUNTRY.... they probably preferred to be as HOMOGENIZED as possible....because it is just a TINY COUNTRY compared to other EURO STATE... TOO BAD. THEIR GOVT SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS STATEWIDE PROBLEM COMING.... They could have given INCENTIVES TO their OWN PEOPLE to take up NURSING CAREERS if they have realized they'll have an IMPENDING SHORTAGE.... BLAME YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT, FINLAND, for lack of FORSIGHT! 😂😂😂 As for Pinoy nurses, you have far better choices to practice your career, other than Finland.... you probably get better pay and treatment elsewhere, so don't fret. o
I came across your vlog, while I'm here in my hostel in Bangkok, waiting for my Swedish Work permit, I did some research on Sweden, not really sure how my real situation will be in my work place, although I'll be working in a multi national energy company, so somehow that is a relief, I used to work in Singapore before, and I had a great experience, but I really believe as an OFW, we will always experience some form of discrimination in small ways, sad reality is, no matter where a Filipino will work and live, how much fluent you are in their language, "You will never be a local" in their eyes probably, but all I can is, you represent not only Filipino nurses, but as a Filipina, Smart, Funny and always have that HEART towards people and work, I think that is the most important trait of every OFW, they may have all the privilege and degrees in this world, but Filipinos always have that HEART, as cheesy as it sounds, that is the truth, Thank you kabayan for showing the world how Filipinos really are, and damn, I didn't know those finns can be so rude! hahaha Tigilan niyo kami sa HAPPIEST COUNTRY na yan! hahaha
Thank you very much for your comment. I am sure your work condition in Sweden will be good. Some Finnish nurses work in Sweden because they are paid better there. Anyhow, it’s true that for others I will never be good enough. Dedma lang😁
Same here in Germany. I have tought many times to give up because of the difficulty to learn new language and be fluent on it. It requires lot of time and lots of effort to speak them. Its just a matter of not giving up and the eagerness to learn. It took me more than 2 years to gain such confidence and to ask to repeat if i dont understand. I think that is one of the key, admitt that we dont understand everything because its not our language and we are no local of the country. Mahirap pero ofw tau. Kaya natin ang challenges ng life and work abroad.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Nice to know that others have the same experience on learning a language which is totally different from tagalog. Sending you warm greetings from cold Finland.
Exactly.that's why they need to be tolerant and understanding.Filipinos are naturally linguist. We easily learn languages but it would take a while. Or maybe it shd be the other way around. Why not employers do the learning of Filipino(depends if tagalog, cebuano, ilongo, ilocano, kapampangan, bicol, whahahaha) Seriously,so they can better communicate and translate instructions, anyway they are the ones in need of workers:nurses. Better yet, learn english, Filipinos understand english waaayy better than finnish language. Nurses thrive in English speaking countries. The better question is, why were they deployed there in the first place and hired at that when they know these nurses will have difficulty with regards to instruction.😏😒🤨
@@peachesa.5654 Thanks for commenting. They are deployed thru agencies and supposed to have knowledge of Finnish language already, but it seems that their proficiency is not enough.

There are plenty of countries who value Filipino nurses. If Pinay nurses doesn't want to go to UAE, Australia or New Zealand, UK and Germany are good choices. What's so special about Finland anyway? Thank you for this video that clarifies some racial issues/comments. All over the world, the Filipino nurses are well appreciated. So, i think, no need for our kabayans not go there if they are not welcomed, di ba? More power to you.
This is the first time I’ve watched any of your videos and I must say you’ve got an intelligent sense of humour. You are really made for this 😂 In reference to the topic, I guess it is so normal for people of a certain country reacts negatively and feel threatened when Filipinos come to work in their respective countries. It is because they know the truth - that Filipinos work twice as hard and they are very good at their job/field. Imagine speaking how many languages on top of the real job description. Whereas compared to them, they probably can only speak their own language and yet their backlog at work are horrendous. And because of that, I can’t blame them 😆 Sigh! You really can’t please everyone. PS: I can say these things because I am also a Filipino migrant overseas… just not in Finland 😉
The smiling happened to me when I was new. It was my Supervisor, she thought I have a sinister smile. She told me about it and I told her I just have smiley face, it's a culture in the Philippines. We became friends after that. Filipino nurses are love in the USA because they are easy to work with and easy to talk to. They are dependable. For Filipino nurses, just learned to say NO when you don't want to pick up overtime.
Poor Europe! Aging rapidly yet complaining about critical and professional help that they need. Nurses should protest for double pay if the host country is not too welcoming.
Sad that most Filipinos have a global outlook while some people in "civilized" countries still subscribed to a small world view. Just keep doing what you're doing. You're in the right place at the right time and you may not know it. Keep grinding. Spread love and compassion.
@@kzm-cb5mr Actually these Filipinos assimilate very well. They are all over the world and they are not trying to change the system. They add to it instead. An recent example is despite Israel's current woes their government took the time to thank the various Filipinos working there because amidst the chaos the Fil nurses stood by their patients side and chose not to leave. That is dedication.
Yes, Finland 🇫🇮 (4th according to some source) is one of the happiest country in the world. Anyway, nice sharing! ❤ Edited: nice sharing instead of shating!
I live more than 40 years in Austria and my German is far from perfect. I worked 25 years in the hospital and I never heard of patients complaining that filipino nurses are incompetent because of language deficiency. It seems to me that the Finnish language is more difficult to learn compared to the German language.

In my country NZ most of our nurses head overseas the same as our doctors, because America or Europe will pay our nurses a higher wage than our country can afford. So we have to bring in foreign workers to work in our hospitals. But I can tell you that as a patient who was looked after by the Philippines and Thai nurses, they are so friendly and kind, very happy to talk about their homeland and all the good things about their homeland. They are so good at their job their language skills are very good. So I'm so happy to have these people in my homeland to earn a living working here so thank you very much Philippines, Thailand and any other country that work here in New Zealand ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I‘ve been there before, my experiences are……Finnish people are happy when they are drank. Vodka is their perfume and drinking water. Some of them are frustrated and living in depression specially in long winter time, in summer full of mosquitos and a boring land. I’ve noticed they never ever win Grand Prix Eurovision Song Contest because their language is terrible and not compatible to the music, you can’t make a song out of their language it might destroyed your ear drums. Lappland for me is like a ghost land . What I like in Finland are Moose meat, Fish and Sauna Bath! Never again to visit this land . It’s better to visit Iceland it’s more interesting and beautiful panorama.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. Made me laugh, actually. All I can say is that this country is not for everyone. The amount of mosquitos in summer in unbelievable. Spring is the best time to visit Finland in my opinion. In case you change your mind someday, choose February -April.
Ah yes. i tend to notice about this on Finnish people. They seem more concerned about not speaking their language . They even do that to swedish people. they get annoyed if they cant speak finnish. idk why lmao.
You should read history then,as finland was once part of sweden and the finns werent treated nicely so that swedish language is kind of spit on your face when someone talks it...
The bottom line here is there are so many countries who hires Filipino nurses rather than going there and be insulted with those uneducated, racist Finnish in their isolated country where people who claimed a happiest country in the world but doesn't smile at all. Who cares anyway, language barriers cannot be a guage in giving tender loving care by the Filipino nurses. I admire your guts to overcome those challenges but for me hire their own Finnish nurses for all I care. Nurse here who work in Saudi Arabia for 40 years.
Guess what, Filipino nurses, do not go to Finland. Go where you are welcome. There are a lot of other countries that would welcome nurses, and are in need of nurses.
@@KnH07 malabo mangyari sa pinas yun para sa nurses. Anyhow kung monetary reasons may English speaking countries kung saan mas maayos ang sweldo kaysa sa Finland. I came here for personal reasons.
Kiitos paljon! quite factual and grounded presentation of a sensitive subject. In any country, there will always be bigots and homophobics who will say these low/racist comments. Fact 1: Finland's population is ageing fast--no Caregivers. Fact 2: The Migri will never give work visas to Pinoy nurses if Finland can provide them .Fact 3: Finnish is indeed technically one of the most difficult languages at all, what with its multiple cases, and there is no one to practice it with !! except in Finland.

Same here in Japan, language barrier is the main problem. The writing system and the grammar itself is so complicated. That's why its difficult to work here. As a matter of fact racism also exists here in Japan. And one of my Filipino colleage experienced it a couple of times. Walang kwenta ang effort mo dito sa Japan kung hindi ka marunong mag japanese. I think sa lahat ng countries ganito ang maeexperience natin pag hindi tayo mag aaral mabuti ng language nila.
Not all Finn's are negative. Some are nice and supportive while you get through the process of learning the language. We also get negative comments in our workplace but as a nonchalant it won't bother me at all. I came to Finland with working visa legally, I pay my taxes and bills as everybody does. No doubt that learning their language will take time. Just do what you can as of now. Practice the language more often, do your job with common sense, get paid, go home and sleep. 😊

I feel you… that’s what some of the Norwegians think about Filipinos too. That we can’t speak and understand their language! Of course we can, but not other dialects. We studied and learned Bokmål. And to that Finnish who called Filipino nurses idiots, I think you’re barking at the wrong tree! Hats off to all Filipino nurses around the world! ☺️🇵🇭❤️
Thank you for sharing. The Philippines have very many registered nurses, but a lot of them are not happy with the wages offered by local nursing jobs. So, a lot of them end up as office secretaries, bank tellers, insurance agents etc. If European countries can offer nursing jobs, it will not cause a shortage of nurses in the Philippines. On the other hand, young Filipinos will even be motivated to go into the nursing profession, because they can find better job and travel opportunities. So that means more supply of Filipino nurses in the future.
@@Finnspirational Somehow I feel it is a crab mentality issue. Decades ago, we have seen associates and their daughters full of hope and inspirations because their ambitious daughters wants to join the ranks of overseas nurses. After their graduation from nursing schools, The governments posted new requirements one after another. In the end, they got tired quit the nursing profession - even if they are already registered nurses.
I really appreciate this post kabayan. Filipinos lack language skills? Basically we are already tri-lengual. Like me, i speak cebuano as mother tongue, i speak hiligaynon, pilipino and a little bit of ilocano. We add english and i was a spanish instructor to nursing students here in cebu having been a student missionary in mexico for seven years. Maybe our weakness in general is the fear of leaving our linguistic comfort zone.
For those who gave offensive comments against Filipino nurses, instead of complaining, why not suggest how they can help solve the shortage in their country. They could not even fill-in the positions and provide solutions. Yes, language is important, but does that affect the nursing skills of an individual? What I see in these people are immaturity and full of insecurities.
True. Older nurses will soon retire, some even retire earlier for health reasons. The younger generation seem to lack interest in health care. Some of their nurses move to other countries because they are better paid there. So where will they get their nurses?
Well, pinoys are chill about this. If they don't want pinoy nurses because of finnish language skills, then we shouldn't. I don't understand why we need to send nurses there in the first place if that's their concern. Let the finnish solve their own nurse shortage problems then. I mean, if nurses want to work overseas, there are other countries to choose from. 😊
True, and other countries pay better too.

I love the Filipino nurses in Singapore's hospital! They are lovely, have a warm personality and a sweet and kind smile. If the Finns do not welcome Filipino nurses, please choose Singapore!
Thank you very much. Singapore has many professionals from the Philippines, your country knows how to choose the right workers.
Finland can deal with it themselves. One doesn’t have to be in the land of so called happiest country. There’s a vast opportunities outside their country where Filipino nurses can be appreciated and respected.
Exactly!

Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts. Hindi ubra sa kin ang pang iinsulto. It should never ever be tolerated. Dapat makipagsabayan talaga👍
Heads up high pinoy nurses! You are the beat❤
Filipino nurses are a blessing, and the world is a better place because of them. Thank you for your hard work and being wonderful people.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
I strongly agree with you that it is the happiest for Finns for people who are from outside this country it may be another story.
There are Finnish Gypsies there and are highly discriminated against. They only love their fellow Finnish blood.

There are laws against discrimination and bullying in the workplace. It is not likely that you'd experience anything barbaric in real life. The internet, however, is where some think that they can get away with anything. Good luck on your studies

Well said. I really hope that the Filipinos who will choose to come here would strive to gain fluency it’s for their own good.

Why not employers do the learning of Filipino(depends if tagalog, cebuano, ilongo, ilocano,
kapampangan,bicol, whahahaha)
Seriously,so they can better communicate and translate instructions, anyway they are the ones in need of workers:nurses.

This is the first time I’ve watched any of your videos and I must say you’ve got an intelligent sense of humour. You are really made for this 😂
In reference to the topic, I guess it is so normal for people of a certain country reacts negatively and feel threatened when Filipinos come to work in their respective countries. It is because they know the truth - that Filipinos work twice as hard and they are very good at their job/field. Imagine speaking how many languages on top of the real job description. Whereas compared to them, they probably can only speak their own language and yet their backlog at work are horrendous. And because of that, I can’t blame them 😆
Sigh! You really can’t please everyone.

Edited: nice sharing instead of shating!

Not all Finn's are negative. Some are nice and supportive while you get through the process of learning the language.
Thanks for commenting. That has been the problem in the Philippines for ages.

Somehow I feel it is a crab mentality issue.

Salamat po. They were referring to Finnish language skills and some assumed that Filipinos do not speak English.
Arrogance always comes with ignorance.
