Not all Finn's are negative. Some are nice and supportive while you get through the process of learning the language. We also get negative comments in our workplace but as a nonchalant it won't bother me at all. I came to Finland with working visa legally, I pay my taxes and bills as everybody does. No doubt that learning their language will take time. Just do what you can as of now. Practice the language more often, do your job with common sense, get paid, go home and sleep. 😊

Same here in Japan, language barrier is the main problem. The writing system and the grammar itself is so complicated. That's why its difficult to work here. As a matter of fact racism also exists here in Japan. And one of my Filipino colleage experienced it a couple of times. Walang kwenta ang effort mo dito sa Japan kung hindi ka marunong mag japanese. I think sa lahat ng countries ganito ang maeexperience natin pag hindi tayo mag aaral mabuti ng language nila.

Yes, true! I agree sa lahat ng mga tips mo ❤. It took me 3 yrs. to learn the Danish 🇩🇰 language (2003 - 2007 including my 1 yr. maternity leave that time). Pero pumapasok lang din ako noon 4 times a week @ 6 hrs. a day if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, nice sharing! Greetings from Copenhagen S., Denmark 🇩🇰. Take care! ❤

Insight from a Finn: the reason we have issues with nurses overseas is because of a few things. 1: they don't always want to learn the language properly. There are only 5,4 million Finns and we want to conserve our culture + language. Also our law states a patient must receive healthcare services in their own language (Finnish/Swedish), so there's that. 2. The job market is currently difficult: due to many things, Finnish nurses are quitting work or changing units. Unless you know the horrible politics behind this, you cannot understand our view on the fact that Finnish skilled nurses are being replaced by lower level foreigners. You are being used, brought to our country for a fairly low salary. If you work as a basic nurse, chances are that your job used to belong to a Finn with a higher education.

Kahit nga dito sa BPO mararamdaman mo superiority complex nitong mga Caucasian na ito. Akala mo sila kaya mag salita ng multiple languages. Ewan but I find it a racist attack especially kung accent okay naman pero ginagawan ng issue. Akala mo kung sino. Buti nga may willing to take over the jobs at mag assist sa ailing patients, kesa pupunta sila ng hospital tapos magrereklamo bakit tagal waiting time, then short staffs pala. Saan ba lulugar? Ang daming demand at daming entitled. Napaka swerte nila sa benepisyo na kahit dito sa 3rd world country na Pilipinas di nila makukuha yan.

If the issue at hand is the lack of proficiency of Filipino nurses in Finnish, then let’s address the problem. And not whine about it. Galingan ng galingan ng mga Pinoy nurses sa Finland ang pag-master sa Finnish language. Pag-fluent na talaga ang mga Pinoy nurses sa written and verbal communication in Finnish tapos reklamo pa sila. Then iba ng pinag-usapan natin. Discrimination na.
