Been looking for a informational video like this. Not enough boxer talk about this so thank you for walking us through the process. I was under the impression that once you register you are good to go, now i see there is more to it. Ill be 32 this year and my dream has been to becom a boxer and now i am one step closer in the process. Thanks again

@@BigDonch yes sir! I've had no formal training but I have always trained myself and I think I have pretty good defense an footwork. Also I work the jab like my life depends on it haha currently looking to register and start training with a coach in a local gym to polish my skills

How do you find tournaments for first fight ?
The same place I showed in the video. By going to USA boxing events. You can also go to the USA boxing website and they will highlight tournaments. I recommend your first fight being at a local gym/club show rather than a tournament.
For the physical you just fill out the form and post it?
Yes your doctor fills it out, you sign where you need to, then you take a picture and upload it on the website

So is it possible to fight under unattached yet without a register coach ?
Asking, I know you’ve replied to someone else’s but the site says you do need to have one but the difficulty of finding a match heightens…
You can have somebody at that event coach you. Just make sure to find out before you show up and get matched

I think 10 pounds. It’s in the rule book online I remember see in something like that but can’t look now

What is stopping you from being a boxer? Find a coach and or a gym. Find videos online to start boxing. Find some workouts
How much do you pay to be in these tournaments ?
That’s my coach who handles that but I’m pretty sure they are free

I don’t have any birth certificate and USA passport can I use my green card for the USA boxing passbook???

Your Resident iD issued by INS, (They haven't been "green" in years,) will be okay, but you'll not be able to compete in events leading to international competion.
Hey so I just turned 16 but i want to get amateur fights do I wait for somone to contact me or I can go to events and fight a random fighter?
You will need to reach out to events and see if they have any fighters available. They won’t reach out to you unless your well established

Your doctor should give you papers or your local pharmacy
After I done all of that,do I give the pass to my coach or sm?
You will want to keep it for yourself. You will need to hand it to the officials on fight day for weigh ins. They keep it and hand it back to you after the fight. DON'T LOSE IT! haha
@@BigDonch Also if you don't get a fight but have checked in and weighed in be sure to retrieve your passbook from the official who has them.

@@nickr7703 I am not sure. USA boxing is for all of America. So I don’t think states matter. Professional boxing definitely does matter state by state. USA boxing has a physical form on their website, take a look at it and print it and bring it to your doctor for the physical. Whatever that paper says, is what’s needed
How long did the whole process take? Including how long it took for you to recieve the passbook?
Also do events require for you to have a coach in your corner?
It took about 2-3 weeks for my passbook to come in. And yes you need to have a USA Boxing certified coach in your corner

@@BigDonch I am wanting to compete on the 22nd and contacted a coach from out of town and he told me that "We have passbooks here at the gym" is that even possible?
I am not sure how that works tbh
@@JulioCesarChavez21 NO. Passbooks are issued by one of the USA Boxing LBC officials.
