Off topic, but I was just thinking that you should write a book Shaun. I mean, not only about wakeboarding, but about your story and things you have learned on your journey through life. You have such a great perspective on life and a lot of wisdom to pass on. Your life is such an inspiration to so many. It would be a great book. You could call it whatever you want, but I think "Do Now Well" or "Enjoy Your Ride" would be great choices for a title.
I’m progressing well with my foil. Commander 1300. I have good control,I can surf first and second wave without rope. I’m very frustrated with pumping. Can’t gain any speed. Sometimes almost seems to have more tension on rope when pumping. Could I be pumping wrong and slowing myself? Do you push harder on front or rear foot? Do I need different foil? Is there anywhere I can rent or demo foil? Thanks for any advice
Shuttle w commander is a good setup to learn on for sure and what I teach everyone on. When it comes to pumping it’s not the best bc of a few things. The fuselage is really long, and the wing has a long “cord”. All of that makes for a slow pump without a lotta snap.
Hyperlite Shuttle board on the 1300 Booster, which won't be available in 2025. It's a good wing to learn on and can even learn to pump like this but if you're looking to get some distance pumping, try out the MK or Falcon series. 1200 if you wanna get more aggressive with carving, 1500 if you want to put less effort into pumping and be able to go longer distances and ride smaller waves. I'm on the 1500 most days lately
Good question @@bsmith13684 It's a 1300 square cm, which is a decent amount of surface area but the shape is not great for pumping. It has more depth from the front of the wing to the back "chord" . Shorter chord and more wingspan allows for more glide and easier pumping i.e. high aspect, long, narrow wing, like a glider, is good for pumping with less effort. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the encouragement Jeremy! Have thought about it but haven't gotten much past thinking about what a few chapters would look like.
As an old school wake boarder with bad knees, I've found the Foil to be very challenging and a lot of fun. Thanks for these great videos!
Love to hear it. Not the bad knees part but enjoying foiling!
@ 5:27 made me chuckle. Some old school rap dance 👏🏽👏🏽
Very excited about these foil tutorials! Thanks for making them.
Thanks for watchin!
This series has been great! You've answered all my foil questions.
Great to hear 👊🏼
That stall out on the top of the water was awesome!
🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Loving the foil vids, ‘pumped’ for the wave transfer video 😂
😜
great instruction!
Thanks for watching and the positive feedback!
On pumping technique, will taller will benefit for speed due to longer legs/limbs and leverage?
I would think so, in the same way that people with longer legs tend to have a longer stride and jump
@@Shaun.Murray So riders with longer legs are able to generate more speed in ride compared to shorter riders?

What foil was used in this entire video?

what is your thoughts on the UTE commander package?
I have the setup and a bunch of my friends prefer to ride that one out of the 3 Hyperlite setups.
@@Shaun.Murray is the ute a good one for dock starts and just pumping around the lake?
