X DiVE confirms this matchup is actually somewhat accurate in canon. Bass mentions successfully holding his own against Zero (or at least bringing him to a stalemate) a long time ago in the Super Bass event when he sees ViA, and assuming it's not just medium limitations, Bass does seem rather fine here after emptying his health bar until Wily runs him over.
I would easily believe Super MegaMan and Super Bass are both at the level of(or even slightly above) base X and base Zero... at least until we bring X's Armors and Zero's States to the mix.
Both Bass and Megaman would have a fair chance against a freshly created Zero. By the time of the X series there's been centuries of advancements in both defensive and offensive technology that a freshly built Zero wouldn't have. Megaman or Bass going up against a freshly built Zero would be last gen robots with upgrades going up against a next gen robot. Sure, the latter might have the advantage but the former wouldn't be totally outclassed.

It's a little unfair to say he's on the level of a Pantheon when those pods only shoot and walk compared to all of Rock's abilities and powers.

I've always found the design and concept of this fan game to be top notch.
It's still one of the best, to this day. I'd say it even beats a few official titles in quality.

I love how Zero is an out of control prototype, and Dr. Wily is like "Yeah, I think you need some tuning before I release you..."
Wily: "Dammit, Zero, stop beating up your brother Bass and go back to bed! I'm getting too old for this..."
If you showed this to someone who had light knowledge about the Mega Man franchise, they'd probably think this was official. Mega Man Unlimited is fantastic!
When I first got into Mega Man, I thought it was canon for the longest time. It really is a quality title.

Huh, these levels seem like theyd be extremely hard for megaman. Like dam, a boss rush and lots of platforming.
Btw a cool detail i love is that you made zero battle bass in a similar way to how zero (enemy) battles megaman on this fangame
They are really hard as Mega Man. Bass is just really easy to parry because of how projectile heavy his fight is. I didn't intend on making it look like the boss fight, but it's funny how it sort of turned out that way.

@@aatgi2982 Nope, X is a different lifeform created after Mega Man, while Mega Man is advanced he has his limits, X was created in order to bypass all those limits and create a robot that could think, feel and behave like a human being, nobody knows what happened to good old Rock, chances is that he died to the explosion that destroyed the old city where he, Roll Dr.Light and the gang used to live
@@orenmauritzen8674 he was talking about how x would be in the capsule at this point, with the only reason zero isnt is cause he broke out. But even then, if we go BEFORE he was sealed then at that point in the timeline x would basically be a torso capable of speech and nothing else really. Like he wouldnt even have limbs by that point.
Given how op zero near the end of the game, and if x is still on prototype mode, im pretty sure that zero would easily win
Bass is good, he saved Treble from dying because he turned normal to not use Treble as shield
This is kinda old but you know its frightening to think that Zero's power without being completed is so great that even his own power is crushing the life out of him without any concern for his own well being only hell bent with the need to kill.
I always hoped that Zero's story would play before the main game where you see Zero breaking free from containment (thus referencing his most likely first rampage which destroyed Wily's Lab/Castle) however before he could do some serious damage his own power finally fries his circuits for the first time allowing Wily to put him in the basement of his lab where Megaman foolishly goes into and runs into Zero and we all know what happens then.
I gotta say, that is a very cool explanation for Zero's life drain/steal mechanic.

Just imagine Capcom using this as its final game for the megaman series where he fights proto zero and stands no change because he can't be damaged him with a weapon of his time. So Dr.Light will start building X and well we all know what happened when both of them are build
Well the cataclysm theory has been stated false so that wouldve never gotten that, nonetheless a fight between Proto Zero and Megaman, Bass and Protoman sounds super cool (the top adaptability of a Robot Master/the X of Robot Masters, the Most advanced Robot Master/the Zero of Robot masters, and the Prototype Robot Master/and technically Prototype Reploid since he is the only Robot Master without an inbuilt purpose aka able to choose his fate to an extand)
@@Freedmoon44 Yeah, it sounds super cool, but it shouldn't be like MMU where Megaman has no chance against Zero whatsoever. The gap between the two shouldn't be that large, Megaman should at least be able to have a fair chance and we all know if you give the hero a fair chance then they're going to make the most of it.

I always wondered who the first person to reach Zero was.
This extra mode just made me think of like, the eventual Classic and X bridge game. The final thing you do is take control as Zero and take out Bass and Mega Man for good. That would be chilling.

Let's just admit it. Zero is broken.
He gets a saber that near one shots all enemies and doubles as a long range spear move, a slam move that not only one shot anything he touches, but also slams down shockwaves for even more damage, And an uppercut that deals about as much damage to a robot master, as Mega Man using that robot's actual weakness. And the slam does that too!
Oh and he can just... Cancel projectiles... of almost any kind.
The only way to effectively die as him without doing it on purpose, is to be bad at platforming.
But with a double jump AND a dash that summons hollow Zeros, that home in on enemies, AND THE FACT THAT THE DASH CAN BE USED IN THE AIR!!!!! WITH THE DOUBLE JUMP!!!!!!!!! It's hard to acsedenly die.
And he probably gets more things that I don't know about.

Zero is totally broken in the late stages, I agree, but that's just what makes him so fun to play as, y'know? Early game with Zero is almost the same as early game with Mega Man, (although Zero starting out with lackluster range compared to Rock, dashing is way better than sliding which makes him a bit better at the start) it's only really once you've beaten a few robot masters does the game become a cakewalk.
The game's somewhat brutal level design in the Wily stages can get a few cheap deaths out of you from time to time. Other than that though, yeah, it's really hard to die as Zero once he gets his full moveset.
I sort of think this was done on purpose though due to, one, you have to beat the game on normal or higher as Mega Man first to get him, and two, he's canonically way stronger than Mega Man (as shown at the end of the game as Mega Man). So Zero being broken is just a fun reward to burn through the game with. But that's just my two-cents.
@@BraveBowmanTBW I know. And it is fun to just bust some nuts and bolts with Zero, even vs the Blue Bomber himself but after a few games with Zero, the game suddenly becomes a bit TOO easy. Even without Zero's full move-set, The Robot Masters, their stages, and even the Wily stages and bosses just get cut down to Toad Man levels of simple. Just rush up to them and start slashing away, and they burn out faster than Atomic Fire to Wood Man. And It would make sense for Zero to be so hard to get. With a game as hard as Mega Man Unlimited on Normal+ difficulty, with cheap deaths and awkward boss fights, (Glue Man can literally slide along the background parts that are almost camouflaged to the real background. Huh?) Zero Would be perfect reward for such pain. But it's just too perfect. If the game gives me choices for mutable characters, I want the to simply feel like, another option. Not a way to get over the games otherwise bad design. Mega Man and Bass had the same problem. For Mega Man, platforming was like trying to sew all your fingers together. Sure you can do it, but my god it hurts. But with Bass, all the platforming problems just disappear, with double jumps and dashes. Zero and Bass make their respective games way too easy no matter how much of a move-set they got. When you play Super Mario Bros 2, you don't make a selection out of one of the four characters, because playing as the other three, is absolute trash. That's my problem with Zero here. Tone it down a little and maybe it will be a bit more fair and fun, as we're used to Mega Man's Challenging gameplay.

Zero was put in stasis till the X series where he faught Sigma and infected him with the Maverick Virus
Zero never killed MegaMan at all and he never even battled any of the robot masters or any one

I'm almost disappointed that Zero doesn't have his own ending in MMU. Probably due to time constraints but still, at least some text saying that "Zero destroyed mankind" or something would have been nice.
Still awesome though that we got one of the best Mega Man games that even Capcom couldn't make. lol No disrespect to Capcom but I wish they would respect the Blue Bomber more.

Rock and X are different people. One way you can tell they are different, apart from the obvious design differences, is that they have different eye colors. There's a lot of nitty gritty details that proves their differences, but it's a bit too much to write in a UA-cam comment.

Un verdadero fan sabe que usar a Zero con espada es mejor que usarlo sin espada. Si te molesta ese detalle solo piensa que Zero fue diseñado para cargar una espada pero que Wily se la quitó al devolverlo a fase de testeo o algo así.

Yeah, it is a little weird. The only explanation I can think of is that the Z-Buster hasn't been installed yet, and since the Z-Saber is not part of his body he can use it. It's a bit of a stretch, but it is really odd they went with the saber over the buster.

There’s nothing in canon that contradicts this happening though. We only know of Wily constructing Zero, Zero being violent and uncontrollable, and Wily sealing him away in a capsule. So really, Zero’s actions in Unlimited line up pretty well with established canon.

What kind of bullshit is this? Every other robot master was more of a threat than Bass???? His attacks are not effective, as in tbey dont even hurt you, yet every other shitty enemy and robot master can harm you? Some fan games make no goddamn sense.
The parry move only works on projectiles when you are standing still, so certain fights like Bass, who are very projectile-heavy are easier to perfect run due to deflect + shoryuken s.
This makes no sense, zero didn't get a saber until x2 with his upgrades that serges created. And yes, I know its a fan made game but thats just ridiculous. Not to mention the other robot masters can damage zero but bass can't? Bass is objectively stronger than any robot master wily has created.
It’s kind of hard to give what’s essentially half X1 Zero any cool new techniques. Also Bass COULD hurt Zero here. It’s justt that the player stayed still, which allows Zero to deflect projectiles. He would have done the same if the player stood still to deflect attacks.
Otherwise, he would just rely on his Z buster and the older robot masters were able to harm zero is because of game mechanics
