I hope electric aircraft catch on. 45% of commercial air traffic is regional, and traveling by air is not exactly clean. Electric airplanes have the potential to clean it up, especially if the electricity needed to charge the aircraft is made using renewable energy or low carbon energy such as nuclear.
It's arguable whether it's cleaner in the long run and overall cleaner from the rare earth metals needed to the process of charging. Electric airliners for carrying passengers are years and years away from happening. Maybe in our children's lifetime. I work for the largest aerospace co in the world. They aren't even thinking electric yet.
We need to work on the tech so it can exist for our children's generations... Fossil fuels aren't sustainable. Hell if we go down the hydrogen or other routes we still need a lot of those rare earth metals, but surprisingly, there's more of that than we think.
The EV seaplane is flown by Harbour Air in British Columbia and is still in testing as far as I'm aware. It was converted by a company here in Washington called "magniX" who also did the motors and possibly more for the Alice. One side note: You only lose the environmental bonus when charging if you live or work somewhere mostly powered dirty energy. Renewables just surpassed coal power in the EU. Where I live in the States I charge my cars at home for dirt cheap on mostly hydro-electric. If I plopped some solar on my roof it would be even better! Anyway, thanks for the review! I'm big into all things transport, especially those with electric powertrains, and I've been following the Alice project for years. Never thought we'd get it in MSFS to be honest. I can't wait to get home from work to give it a go!
Thank you for another interesting presentation..... I suspect this aircraft performs far better in a simulator than reality.... Hopefully it will be released in Marketplace soon... Roger... Pembrokeshire
My favorite electric aircraft in sim was Lionheart's Avelina for FSX/P3D. I was hoping they'd someday make an MSFS version of it, but I think I'll give this one a try.
What do we have here, electric cargo plane with Garmin 3000? And full cargo version - well that seems to be a real nice plane. Maybe not as retro-futuristic-cool as the Boeing 727 which is currently my favorite, but cool and very sleek and well designed in a futuristic-futuristic way.
Hello, great for the presentation, great plane. Something completely different at a reasonable price. Is there a tip on how I can regulate the power with the honeycomb throttle, which assignment I should make. Normal throttle assignment doesn't work for me, so I can only regulate the power with the mouse. Thanks for the tips.
@@AvAngel thanks for the quick reply. I mean the throttle-power lever, not the knob. I have different settings from other airplanes, like Bonanza, Caravan, PC12... but the throttle-power lever doesn't move.
@AvAngel awesome video as always AV, we appreciate your continued hard work and can't wait to see more models. BTW, question for ya. Are you getting one of the FFB bases coming out? I would absolutely love to see your review of them and even more so of how the planes in MSFS feel on them (I'm getting the Moza AB9 so I'm really curious how these models feel since I'm getting into MSFS and wanna know what's worth buying). Thanks again and can't wait for the next upload!
I may, I may not. They're very expensive and I do have the Honeycomb kit right now which I love. If anyone ends up wanting me to review them (the developers that is) i would, but it's not something I can justify buying for a review alone.
Not to sure of a battery plane, but a battery car owner said owning a full electric car is liken to owning a cell phone. No problem for the first owner, but a falling capacity for the next owners.
The 400 odd nautical mile range is cripplingly short. Same range as like a Cessna 152 or something. Fine for a concept plane, but still... but not so much for commercial viability, imo. It's a very cool plane for the sim though.
I mean, you don't need to... you don't have any fuel weight to lose... that's the point :D The reason for dumping is to make it safer as well as lighter, and well, its already safer.
The model both interior and exterior looks very amateurish, low polys, bland textures, it is a very interesting plane but in my view it is not a great rendition of it.
Opening the soda cans is hilarious (Jonathan Beckett’s review). I always love your take on aircraft!
Bought it yesterday, most probably will be attempting a around the world flight in it.
Thank you for flying the Alice ⚡!
Will we be able to buy straight from MSFS?
@@HABITZER yes, marketplace release on Thursday :)

I LOVE LIvtoAir's flying car, even flew it on Vatsim once. I will definately be taking a look at this. Thanks AvAngel!
There wasn't really anything wrong with your landing, you simply made positive contact with the runway. 😊
Wow ! this E.V. plane is hype and kind of serene

That's a DHC-2 conversion!!
Time for some FedEx hops baby

As in the power amount selector? It’s a dial do button only. The throttle works normally to me

Hello, after trying I found the solution: in my settings throttle 2 is required, then the throttle works.
How do i start the charger and why wont it work with my bravo🤔
nothing says futurism and luxury like taking a dump in the same room where you prepare your food
the Piaggio Avianti called
Thanks for video
Incredible concept
Got this beautiful bird early and absolutely love it!
Same, it's a joy to fly
Amazing... thank you!
Thanks but missed the night lighting preview.
Hope they can put Piaggio p180 in game also.
One is coming.

Did you have T-33 for inibuilds Angel please i see video for fly thanks 😊
Not yet, it just released
I’m guessing that it’s not worth the weight, but I would’ve expected an electric plane to be covered in solar panels.
It would be beneficial, spacecrafts need lightness and do it but may be a surface resistance issue
Where can I purchase this aircraft please??
Link is in the description
One con with this bird if you don't get on the flight plan straight away the auto pilot has a hard time following it. something to look at.
This is no good. You will taxi over to the charging station only to find some idiot is there charging there Tesla . Love ya vids, keep it up.
XD
@0:26 those stats are all bugged 1283 NM, an EV plane?! That's non sense... in real life it's not even 3 times that!

The logic for the altitude call outs are very amateur and repeat themselves if you hover around those callout attitudes.
I suspect that’s stock maybe? Not sure

For regional use it’s more than decent
Except the real one has even shorter range now after test flights. They delayed the in service date and must be working on that. It’s just too low.
✅ ☑ 🏁
The only place this plane should be flying is on a sim, lol.
Idk, if it actually works as advertised and similar craft can, it can actually help us a lot.
Good luck dumping fuel on an emergency landing.
