Im in school right now studying something I have no interest in and I’m hoping to transition to marketing by 2023 but i obviously want to learn as much as I can now and maybe not even end up needing to get a degree. Thank you Angel, your channel has been so helpful in reassuring me that marketing is in fact the path I should take.
I started my career in nonprofit marketing a couple years ago. Graduated with an Associate’s in Journalism and a Bachelor’s in Sociology two years ago. Now I am a Blogger doing my own marketing.
Just got invited for a second interview for a marketing communications manager position at a nonprofit! I definitely didn’t take the traditional marketing route and created all of my own marketing positions in every job I had. I learned everything online and used skills I learned in my majors too.
Start-ups always reject me when I apply, but my nonprofit interview rate is so high. I find that so interesting.

I recently looked into Acadium and was skeptical so I'm soooo happy I saw this video. I'm still really busy and need to focus on school but I have my account set up and can't wait to try it out. It's EXACTLY what I was looking for because let's face it, some internships just want a free employee and drown you in work. This looks more my pace to get me familiar with marketing before I look for a more full-time and heavier internship. Thanks for this!
Yeah totally! Honestly it's a totally free program which is insane! So definitely worth trying out! (plus their courses you can do on your own time which is awesome!)
It's been a long time!
I am currently studying Marketing at Fordham University, and I have been having a rough time with my classes. Such as Stats, Econ, Accounting. I have been worried that by me having a lower GPA. (In the 3.0) it will negatively affect the chances of me getting an internship. I am only a sophomore, so I still haven't taken my major courses. But thank you! Your videos always help a lot.
So glad I could help! Don't be so worried about your GPA affecting your future job opportunities. Focus on actually learning the skills/content so that you can show that you know how to apply it in the future!
My jaw literally dropped 2 minutes in... I left after my first year at SFSU too!!! thinking how are these classes relevant/important?? I was not a fan at all- dropped out and starting working as a freelance makeup artist! However, I've been wanting to learn more about marketing in general so thank you so much for this video!!!
I totally understand university courses help to make you a more well-rounded person but I just wanted to learn what I needed for my career! Dropping out was the best decision I ever made!

Marketing is the skill that identifies a problem and finds a way to solve it.
While advertising is a marketing function that promotes a solution provided by marketers.
