Thank you for your professional advice. I had a bad case of keto flu. I made a little salt water and 10 minutes later... NO HEADACHE!!!! Stopped sweating from every pore (mainly from my head). I was checking my ketone and glucose religiously. I finally feel warm again, blamed the winter temp 52°F. I was drinking nearly 1.5 gallons of H2O daily without any satiated quench. Now I can continue my journey to better health.
I love this advice but I can't talk to any of my doctors because they do not see the value or agree with the keto diet. I guess I just have to find my information on YoutTube. Thanks for your great videos.
earhtoddler I recommend you change doctors. I don't use fat doctors, doctors who smoke or doctors who aren't open minded. My reasoning is that if you can't take care of yourself, how are you going to take care of me.

Make sure it’s Himalayan salt and not isolated sodium chloride aka table salt!! Himalayan has over 70 minerals and is balanced with the potassium to make it do it’s job appropriately. Isolated sodium chloride isn’t safe because we get too little potassium!! We need to keep the ratio in check. All the sodium issues people have are potassium deficiencies!! Blood isn’t an accurate representation of where levels are at in the cells either most people are too low! I’ve never seen anyone with enough potassium doing tissue mineral analysis unless they’ve done mineral work years and years and working on it! High blood pressure is also low potassium magnesium and pink Himalayan salt can lower it too. Pounding heart is more potassium deficiency than it is sodium!! But you need both and need magnesium but magnesium lowers sodium and potassium even more. So be careful it’s best to get htma done there’s only two labs that do the eating accurately! Also drinking nettle infusions is amazing but it’s low in sodium so you’ll need to add in oatstraw or get salts in otherwise

I went to my doctor and asked him whether he thinks this method is suitable for me. He said "Yes, absolutely." Then he explained to me how to do it. He also warned me about the transition period. And yes, after two days now, I feel a bit...dizzy/strange. And my mouth tasted bad after getting up. But I will get over that. It is more difficult to get my head around the fact that from now on, fat will be my main fuel. After all, I learned for 40 years (my dad had Type 1 diabetes) that fat is bad. But I am not that old, I can still learn new things and ideas.

I thought I was having mini panic attacks during the day, heart pounding and head pounding, i do have propensity to anxiety, and it was bad with the lack of sleep on top of it. But after 7 or 8 days of toughing it out, i feel even less anxious than before I started the diet. It feels so good already.
Hey Doc, I had yesterday irregular hartbeat and low blood presure with low pulse. It was really uncomfortable. I am 5 months in Ketogenic diet, lost 45 lb, from 202 to 157. I used to have irregular hartbeat form time to time but never with the pulse of 55. Never had a high blood pressure so for me low pressure is kind of normal. Yesterday made me think what I am doing wrong.
Thank you for this video. I was about to quit the diet because I thought I was going to have a heart attack due to my increase blood pressure, headache, etc. It just didn't feel right. I thought this was something it clearly wasn't.

I should have watched this before my last two diets! I keep trying to lose weight but when I lose the fluids my heart doesn’t like it! Usually electrolytes and minerals get me back on track but this last time, taking tons of minerals and electrolytes and even stopping keto didn’t make my heart settle back into normal. It’s been about a month and my heart is back to normal finally but I haven’t lost any weight!
What if I already have a low blood pressure? Happened after chemo/ surgery in 2018. Plus I have a low thyroid. I'm at 75 carbs a day, 2 meals a day, no gluten, sugar. My doctor's don't support my Keto eating. Is it safe for me? I'm trying to stay healthy, don't want the cancer to come back.

No all salt is created equal. You mention salt, the white stuff on the table. That salt is usually totally deplete of minerals. The salt you need is mineral-rich salt - unprocessed, Celtic/himalayan salt. Huge difference between table salt and unprocessed. This difference really needs to be made clear. Thanks.

Max strengh Keto in a capsule BHB does not show C10 or 8 on the label, and appears to only be sodium, magnesium and calcium. Where are the ketones? It says 2220 mg of gobhb proprietary blend, but under that is shows the sodium, magnesium and calcium again. I assume this is just for the trace minerals to reduce flu symptoms and replenish what is lost, but it says Ketones in a Capsul so I though there would be some exogenous keytones in there. Why would the label not be more specific?

What do you think of this: keto makes me get symptoms of psychosis, severe anxiety attacks.. I thought Keto was supposed to calm mental health, not make it go crazy?? I also can’t sleep or awake abruptly with breath that tastes like I’ve swallowed a bottle of perfume. Wtf? And severe sudden Hypoglycemia, have to shovel loads of blueberries in otherwise will faint. And eating fat don’t translate into energy in me.
My heart rate shot up to 149 and I was actually concerned that I might die. I'm running low grade temps. I feel like I got hit by a truck. Hopefully this gets better sooner than later. Adding salt to water brought my heart rate down though.
same here, i walkedup a flight of stairs and my heart went to 140bpm in seconds and stayed like thatfor 10-15 mins but all grand onto day 5... lots of potassium as the human body needs 4700mg a day
My heart goes like crazy. It started when i was on my 4th day of keto. Went to the doctor, he doesnt know what to do :s now im stuck with heart rythm problems and yes I do drink a lot and yes i do add salt

From what I understand excess insulin causes salt to store as is many of its negative effects. Water is stored to balance the excess salt ratio needed. Once you lower carbs as you say it dumps it out. Unfortunately it dumps all the salts so we should also makes sure we take potassium. I think it's important to take natural salt and not the processed salt as it reacts negatively contributing to hbp. Taking salt did really help when starting on keto. Also it took away my night cramps.

I started low carb diet and intermittent fasting 5 weeks ago. I experienced no side effects until yesterday, I had a headache, fatigue, dizziness and shortness of breath. I feel very bad but I am not sure if this is keto flu or not as I still consume 20 percent carbs at least.
Keto flu is a result of doing keto too fast for you and your problems. 1. Age 2. Health 3. Sicknesses 4.not being practiced In giving up suger, and eating more fat. We were all born in ketosis. Keto isnt a diet, Keto is a lifestyle
@@saren6538 Only white refined grains or carbs are comparable to raw sugar. The evidence clearly shows that whole carbohydrates or grains do not spike sugar in the blood and take much longer to digest than the white variety you mentioned in that cereal.

In my first 2 weeks doing keto I experienced very odd shooting pains in my jaw/gums. It would be in my top jaw and gums in a certain spot on one day and then my bottom jaw in other days, so no specific, continuous area. It wasnt a bad tooth and I am pretty sure it was an adjustment my body was making regarding keto. This usually started towards the evening and often while i was sleeping, even waking me up at night. I was taking paracetamol, until they eventually stopped and I havent had the pains since. I am interested to find out if anyone else experienced this.

I just started the keto diet with out doctor supervision 4 days ago I've been fatigued with a few headaches and a bit of dehydration which I upped my water intake and overall feel better but I did notice I am often short of breath and can barley make it down the stairs without having to stop for a breather my main concern is I have always notice when I'm checking my own heart me I have an irregular one and I did have a heart defeat the simple term I was told was a hole in my heart so I got pretty concerned when I had a racing heart beat like I just got done running but worse and short of breath is there any advice or reason to be concerned?

YES! It sure does. It's because you need Magnesium and Potassium. From the loss of electrolytes you've lost. Go drink some diet Sprite. Has the sodium and only soft drink with Potassium. Also eat some fish high in magnesium

Dr. Your info is great. But the carbs are in grams which you don't mention in your videos. Please remember it's 20 g or 50 g not 50 carbohydrates. It avoids the confusion when u say 300 carbohydrates and not grams. Otherwise the videos are great. Thanks for great videos.
Yahaira Diaz no. One a day vitamins are junk. Any vitamin you buy in a drug store, Walmart or GNC are garbage vitamins. They pass through your body without digesting. I was looking for some information on why I'm so damn tired, why I have such discomfort in my body (like I have to stretch all the time, a bit like restless legs). My keto flu is nasty and I dread having to give in to social pressures of eating food with carbs; after doing so I 100% will get the shivers, inflamed inner ears, fluctuating body temp (hot flashes and then shivers), headaches (could be from the inflamed inner ears), colds, and THE SWEATS when sleeping. It’s the dirtiest flu I always get as punishment for eating the dirty carbs. It’s been the case for 3 years.

I had cramps both of my arms I was very worried but since I’m doing keto after two weeks it’s gone and I also lost 15 pounds now for 3 weeks
I'm nervous about going into ketoacidosis because I'm breastfeeding. A lot of the keto flu and ketoacidosis symptoms are the same.

My heart rate shot up to 149 and I was actually concerned that I might die. I'm running low grade temps. I feel like I got hit by a truck. Hopefully this gets better sooner than later. Adding salt to water brought my heart rate down though.
same here, i walkedup a flight of stairs and my heart went to 140bpm in seconds and stayed like thatfor 10-15 mins but all grand onto day 5... lots of potassium as the human body needs 4700mg a day

From what I understand excess insulin causes salt to store as is many of its negative effects. Water is stored to balance the excess salt ratio needed. Once you lower carbs as you say it dumps it out. Unfortunately it dumps all the salts so we should also makes sure we take potassium. I think it's important to take natural salt and not the processed salt as it reacts negatively contributing to hbp. Taking salt did really help when starting on keto. Also it took away my night cramps.

I started low carb diet and intermittent fasting 5 weeks ago. I experienced no side effects until yesterday, I had a headache, fatigue, dizziness and shortness of breath. I feel very bad but I am not sure if this is keto flu or not as I still consume 20 percent carbs at least.
I woke up with dizziness, nausea, and headache today. I've been watching my carbs , but yesterday I had 141g? So I'm not sure as well.

@@saren6538 Only white refined grains or carbs are comparable to raw sugar. The evidence clearly shows that whole carbohydrates or grains do not spike sugar in the blood and take much longer to digest than the white variety you mentioned in that cereal.

In my first 2 weeks doing keto I experienced very odd shooting pains in my jaw/gums. It would be in my top jaw and gums in a certain spot on one day and then my bottom jaw in other days, so no specific, continuous area. It wasnt a bad tooth and I am pretty sure it was an adjustment my body was making regarding keto. This usually started towards the evening and often while i was sleeping, even waking me up at night. I was taking paracetamol, until they eventually stopped and I havent had the pains since. I am interested to find out if anyone else experienced this.

I just started the keto diet with out doctor supervision 4 days ago I've been fatigued with a few headaches and a bit of dehydration which I upped my water intake and overall feel better but I did notice I am often short of breath and can barley make it down the stairs without having to stop for a breather my main concern is I have always notice when I'm checking my own heart me I have an irregular one and I did have a heart defeat the simple term I was told was a hole in my heart so I got pretty concerned when I had a racing heart beat like I just got done running but worse and short of breath is there any advice or reason to be concerned?

In this case, you only need to retain water to prevent keto flu, table salt is enough. The extra minerals from pink salt although recommended is not needed for keto flu.

Dr. Your info is great. But the carbs are in grams which you don't mention in your videos. Please remember it's 20 g or 50 g not 50 carbohydrates. It avoids the confusion when u say 300 carbohydrates and not grams. Otherwise the videos are great. Thanks for great videos.

Yahaira Diaz no. One a day vitamins are junk. Any vitamin you buy in a drug store, Walmart or GNC are garbage vitamins. They pass through your body without digesting. Companies that make their vitamins from actual food sources are rare. There’s only a couple I know of. They tend to be expensive and sold through direct marketing companies only.

Most keto is 20g a day. Most food has more than that per serving. Check out a nutrition label. All sugars are carbs

I go coffee with nusalt for Potassium. Himalayan pink salt for sodium and take Magnesium supplements. Cinnamon and heavy cream.

I was looking for some information on why I'm so damn tired, why I have such discomfort in my body (like I have to stretch all the time, a bit like restless legs). My keto flu is nasty and I dread having to give in to social pressures of eating food with carbs; after doing so I 100% will get the shivers, inflamed inner ears, fluctuating body temp (hot flashes and then shivers), headaches (could be from the inflamed inner ears), colds, and THE SWEATS when sleeping. It’s the dirtiest flu I always get as punishment for eating the dirty carbs. It’s been the case for 3 years.
