Missouri Tactical Sub2000 Gen2 Recoil Pad Review

- A review of the Missouri Tactical Sub2000 Gen2 Recoil Pad. It really helps to reduce felt recoil on the KelTec Sub2000. It slips easily onto a stock Gen2 buttstock and attaches firmly. Thanks to Missouri Tactical for supplying this sample for this review and the discount code for my viewers.

I have a follow-up video where I take footage of it at the range and asked for feedback from some random folks at the range. ua-cam.com/video/WJJnlWHBvHo/v-deo.html
Thanks for the info!! I just bought the gen 3 haven’t shot it yet but I just ordered the recoil pad before your video was over.
It looks like they’ve updated it since you made the video but still looks as if it will work just fine.
They've updated the pad?
Wow thank you man this is a great video.
Glad you liked it! and thanks for subscribing.
Thanks for the review.
My pleasure! Hope you subscribe.
Thanks bro! Great video
Glad you liked it! Hope you subscribe.
Nice review. Covered every issue. Good job Moondog!
Much appreciated! Hope you subscribed.
Great item...great video...thanks!!
Thanks for watching! Hope you subscribe.
Thanks!
Wow. You're very welcome.
I have the Gen 2 & 3, and bought this recoil pad for both, absolute game changer! I’m no longer black and blue in the shoulder the next day 😅
I know right?! Especially if you only wear a tshirt to the range.
Does the cutout allow for your release button on the Gen 3 latch to still easily be reached?
@@320epdmk yes - 100% It’s the biggest no-brainer cheapest thing you can possibly buy for the weapon, nonnegotiable in my eyes.
@@320epdmk The cut out in the pad allows the front sight post to fit in when closed.
I bought one, works great, slips right on.
Do you feel a difference? Hope you subuscribed.
FINALLY. Take note Mcarbo.
All we need now is for someone to create an AR style buttstock. I love my sub2K, but man does that buttstock SUCK.
Thank you for the video. I got a Sub 2000 yesterday, and I think this will be my next purchase.
Good choice! Hope you subscribe.
Thank you sir!
You bet! I hope you subscribe.
@@Moondog2A yep subbed thanks again!!
Wow, it seems much more elegant solution than M-Carbo's
I don’t like the idea of Putting a drill too my gun 😂
Thanks for the review. Have you reviewed any other SUB2000 recoil devices other than the MOTAC recoil pad and the recoil buffer such as the heavy bolt and charging handle? Also, how did you get the bicycle grip to stay on the buffer tube?
Nope. I'm a bit leary of adding a heavier bolt effecting cycling reliability. And the grip foam is held on with simple double-stick Scotch tape. That's what they use to keep it on bikes too.
Awesome product, already ordered from your link. Thanks for the review.
Awesome, thank you!
i got it...i like it...good job Missouri Tact for a great product
Spot on review my friendd if you are ever in lake havasu drop a line and we'll go shoot a few rounds!
Thanks, would love to see that bridge. I hope you subscribed.
Legit one of the best improvements you can make to the sub2000 and it's only $20. It's not even really about recoil; that rubber helps you get a nice shoulder connection to the stock with minimal slip that happens with the bare plastic. One of these and an offset rail section are must haves IMO. The sub2000 is probably one of the best pack guns you can have if you go camping and are concerned about certain animals and meth cookers in the backwoods.
Awesome, thanks for posting this 👏👏👏
Think I'll pick one up.
Thanks. Subbed your channel.

Instant subscriber in the first minute. Love it.
That's fantastic! See people do appreciate ingenuity!
Excellent review, thank you
This blows away the MCarbo option for a but plate and makes it level.
Plus no drilling. KelTec needs to make a major facelift on the Sub2K buttstock to compete against the new S&W.
Thank you for this video Sir
Nice vid! To MT nice work. Again we see the aftermarket making stuff that should have been standard equipment. I’m deciding between the Sub 2k & a Ruger PC9 backpacker 🙂
Not considering the S&W FPC? Hope you subscribed.
Yes I’m looking into it more! I do like the idea of using Glock mags for those other rifles, maybe better during a SHTF or buyout scenario.
Wonderful information, just ordered one! Thanks
You're welcome. Please like and Subscribe.
thank you, I just ordered one. code still works.
Really?! That's great. Thanks, I'll let other folks know who ask. Don't know for how long though.
Brilliant !
Just picked up my Keltec Sub2000 yesterday. I just ordered the recoil pad and buffer washer. Pretty much dont want to spent to much on a low cost rifle but was thinking about the midwest industries mount for a red dot i have lying around. Any thoughts on that mount or any advice on w.e. besides maybe throwing a one point sling on the rifle that you might have for me. Thnx in advance. Liked and subbed
Thanks! Its fun to shot.
You could try a 45 degree angle mount if you want cheap. That way you can still fold the gun
@@camaroman101 45º is good for a red dot but not great for a scope; too unbalanced. What we really need is that new rotating foregrip they built into the SUB CQB.
Just bought one using your coupon code. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video.
Oh my god........that was so close ! You ALMOST shot the rifle to test the RECOIL PAD !! Are you serious ??
Look at the date of this video. When I made this video all of the ranges were still closed because of COVID. A few months later, this ua-cam.com/video/DAWL1ilImgM/v-deo.html
Nice review. Never knew this product existed. I didn’t like MCarbo solution as I didn’t want to drill into my stock. Just finished placing my order. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
I just watched the previous video of you using the AR pad a few minutes ago, and to think, I nearly skipped over this review, and completely missed my chance.
Thanks again!
I made this version where I removed the part of the video where I talk about the contest because it was over. But thanks for watching. I'll have another contest soon.
Thanks for the code, ordering two and I like the look of their M-LOK covers too.
AND they take Apple Pay in the shopping cart? Awesome, I like these guys.
Great video .
Great product .
Just purchased one 👍
Thanks for the review and the Amazon link. I went right over and bought one. I have the mcarbo one that I haven't installed yet because it requires drilling holes. I figured I'd try the non invasive one first and can always drill holes later.
I got my recoil pad in today and it great! Fits very well
Got mine a few months ago. I love it.
Very nice going to get one soon! Didnt want to drill one in..
For those of you folks who have adopted the grommet between the bolt spring and “cushion, plus the stock recoil pad, have you noticed measurable relief in your cheek and shoulder from felt recoil?
Sorry nobody else has answered your question. Have you tried it? I notice a difference but is it a huge difference? To me, no. And please Subscribe, thanks.
I actually have not made the purchase yet. But having your insights help me make a much more informed decision about potential drawbacks in the weapon. Appreciate your follow up. Thought I subscribed a while back. Will definitely make sure I do. Thank you.
Checked, and I am already subscribed.
Recoil grommet, stock pad in this video, buffer sleeve cheek pad, and double weight charging handle, fired 50 round drum, four 33rnd sticks, three 17 round mags all one after the other, was like I didnt fire it that day, huge difference
i just about to order one good video
Let me know if that discount still works.
@@Moondog2A i want one where do i get it at
@@clintdodson44 The recoil pad you can get on Amazon. I hope this code still works? 5% Off with code: 05MOONDOG

Awesome!!!!Thank you!!!!!!
How did you attach the cheek pad? I saw in previous comment you said it was bike handle foam. Did you double side tape it?
Yup, double sided scotch tape
Cool !
Hey Moondog! What did you put in/over the butt stock holes for the positions you are not using. looks like black inserts of some type.
I bought my Sub2K customized like that by Wilde Tactical in San Diego years ago. But you can buy at CA compliant kit directly from KelTec now to get a non-adjustable stock for the Sub2K
Just bought this, and replacement buttstock.i love mcarbo but some of there solutions aren't the best most are though. But as for there stock pad drilling into the plastic and then where the nuts are located make it very difficult and in my case impossible to get a socket or wrench around without maring the plastic or digging a trench for clearance.
what did you put around the charging handle? rubber bands? hair ties?
Silicone gaskets/o-rings. I was testing to see if it helped any. Nope, not really.
Got one! What buffer tube cover do you have on that Sub?
I made it out of a road bicycle handlebar cover amzn.to/3rH3cSL
I have one of these and it makes a massive difference. The stock on the Sub2k has always been the biggest downfall of this firearm and this product went a long way to fix that
It's a shame we even have to use a term such as "free state" in the USA.
True. So true.
Why would you slide it from the bottom instead of you sliding it from the top
Because the pad is naturally forked at the top to allow for the front sight post. It inserts more easily this way. But you can do whatever works for you.
Nice review but what about a review after using it? Does it help cushion that recoil? l
Yes. It feels less if you're just wearing a shirt while shooting.
Seems to me they saw your video and stole your idea; just saying
Haha. I'm not sayin they did but I'd have a firmer claim had they not released their pad just days after I uploaded my video. Hope you subscribe.
Looking for one that will fit a a2 stock on my ar15?
MoTac has a few like this one for the A2: amzn.to/3vgpxJ7
or an HK416 style which people say is even more confortable: amzn.to/2NcGxil
I’m here in mixed reviews about the recoil pad, how is it still holding up today?
Still on my Sub2K. Mixed? Everybody I've read says they love it. Why have you been reading that it's breaking? Granted I haven't been shooting it much since COVID because 9mm is hard to find.
@@Moondog2A some folks say the love it others say its breaking after the 4th use lol
@@Riq144k Wow, hadn't heard that. Where were you seeing that, on a board or UA-cam? I'm curious as to how they were breaking?
Take 2 step back from camera
This makes me miss my long lost bottle opener ring.
Here ya go bro amzn.to/3ukCVuE
are they making the sub 2000 in .45 acp yet ???
I haven't seen one. But KelTec have been hinting www.gunsamerica.com/digest/keltec-45-acp-10mm-sub2000/
You can send me the mod'd ar pad:)
