Do you have LEFTOVER RICE? Make this famous Filipino Delicacy with Few Ingredients!

  • Here, I will show you how to turn leftover rice into a famous Filipino steamed rice cake. Easy to make sugar rice cake topped with grated cheese.

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 cup leftover rice
    400 ml water
    1/3 cup white sugar
    1 cup rice flour
    1/2 tbsp. instant yeast
    INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Combine leftover rice, water and sugar. Process/Blend until smooth.
    2. Pour into a bowl then add flour. Combine well.
    3. Add yeast, stir until completely dissolved.
    4. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to ferment for 1 hour.
    5. After 1 hour, stir to remove bubbles.
    6. Pour in a prepared mold (8x1 inch. and 5x1 inch.)
    7. Place in a pan with wire rack and boiling water.
    8. Steam for 20 minutes (after 15 minutes open the pan and grate some cheese on top then cover and cook for another 5 minutes)
    9. Once done, remove from the pan and let it cool.

    Can I add my own ingredients like for examples egg,cheese,butter,oil,,sugar,cinamon powder,vanilla and cocoa pwder then put on top a cheese and baked.
