I’ve seen a lot of people wear their work boots well beyond that point lol, even I’m guilty cause I have a pair of Redwing 2408 2.0 super sole series boots that I have worn for 10+ years, and they’re still comfortable, and my body never aches from them. I believe that the boots are constructed from such a high quality, thick leather that they never really lose support no matter how much they wear. And remember USA made Redwings are made from Bull hides and not Cow hides. That Bull DNA makes for a thicker tougher leather. Even the soles outlast other soles, that series of boots was straight up made to last, still constructed the old way with Puritan triple stitch and wax dipped thread. They’re my favorite lol.

For a pair of lace up boots like those. I would just get some custom made boots and have them sent in to get reconstructed to avoid the break in on new boots.

I have several pairs of boots for work (patrol) and i rotate them throughout the week to keep my feet fresh and help the boots last longer. I'm also in the process of testing a new pair of boots (Hiax) for them. Good advice Brother.

Would a resole not work? New sole or different sole? New inserts or more structured inserts? I feel like if I spend good money on boots I’m gonna be hesitant to just replace them instead of trying to recraft them.

As a general rule if one is experiencing back pain, foot or heel pain then they may have broken down a part of their boots and may need to replace their boots. However, the problem may be solved with a resole or rebuild if their boots are capable of such work. I don't agree that buying a new pair of boots every 9 months is likely necessary unless they are completely trashed and cannot be resoled or rebuilt. I think a key question is to determine if your boots midsole and sole are only glued on or are they also stitched on? A boot that has a glued and stitched on midsole and sole can probably be rebuilt. This will not only save money, but will also save a potential long break in period.

Lesson of this video: invest in a high quality pair of boots and you can get at least 5 years out of a pair of lugged sole and a rebuild in 10(minus wedge soles because the purpose of the sole makes it not AS durable as a hard runner lug sole). Inside of your boots start to smell switch to merino wool socks and or wash them out with baking soda and dry them with a boot dryer. Then treat the inside with LP.

I’ve always had danner quarrys I recently purchased Nicks builder pro with the Vibram red X soul because I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis and they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn in my entire life the quality is there and I’m ordering another pair so I have a replacement when I send them out for a resoleor a rebuild. Also they are the first boots I’ve ever had that the steel toe doesn’t rub my big toe

Good one! I use to have the cobbler beef up my work boots
when I got them resoled with two 8 iron midsoles not just one. They had a lot of support and lasted longer.

If you actually have a pair of high quality heritage boots, they can be recrafted??? Right?

They can if you feel your still being supported by the upper.

When I pay $300 + for a pair of Goodyear Welted boots, I expect that upper to hold up for a few years. How about you?

Plan on buying a new pair of boots every 9-11 months?! That’s just ridiculous. If you buy a decent pair of boots, well made leather boots, then your investing in a product that will last far longer than a year.
Is this guy conducting actual reviews or is he just a boot industry shill trying to get more boots sold?
