Superb. So well described and filmed. The mystery of the digi-hat is revealed. And it looks very neat too! Now I can convert some of my old GF locos. Might even try a sound conversion! Thank you!
Nice and clearly defined tutorial. Just got to get my soldering skills up to snuff ! Videos like these are few and far between, so thanks for posting. Cheers
Nice conversion! I also noticed that your chassis had a capacitor which is used for noise suppression (in the old days it was to stop your locos interfering with the tv) Some DCC purists will tell you to remove that as well, as it might interfere with the dcc chip, In my opinion if it works Happy days! All the best Tony.
Hi. Great video. I did a conversion myself last week on an old Poole unit. However I removed the capacitor as I understand it’s no longer required with DCC.
wow now i know looks easy//////// lol dont think so wiv my hand of thumbs but it certainly is the easiest dcc conversion ive seen no mega complicated explanations cheers scottydog allan
@@Rule1ModelRailways I'm sure somebody with your skill could soon pick it up! just patience, practice and having the right tools, Due to the nature of your layout being so reliant on electronics it is a skill well worth learning. All the best Tony.
Thanks for this, you've just saved a 47 and a 37 that I inherited heading to the scrapyard.

Thank you for the advise, I did not know it could affect dcc signals, may take it out at some point :)

Good job :)
Thank you :)
Soldering to a 6 pin dcc decoder looks painful!
No harder than soldering to pcb on the Bachman farish class 60, 66, and 57. 😀 All the best Tony
@@TheHeritageLine Also painful!

A fine tip does usually help, I have one but it doesn't fit on my iron
