The Tamburitzans perform folk songs and dances from the region of Podravina in Croatia!

Podravina is a province of Croatia located near the Drava River and bordering to the north with Hungary. The Hungarian influence on the dance and music is evident. A wedding occasion in the region brings a variety of vibrant costumes and traditions. You'll see the first meeting of the future bride and the groom; the bride's farewell to her parents, the wedding itself and finally the climax of the wedding feast with merry-making and dance.

The costumes are beautiful, Koprivnicki Ivanec probably has the nicest traditional costumes in this part of Croatia. It was awesome to hear your version of Blaz Lenger's Podravska polka!

I just had a realization that every Podravina set I have ever seen by any ensemble has always been a wedding staging. Why is this? It's rather interesting.
