  • Our latest family adventure in our 1st Gen Toyota Tacoma. White Rim road in Canyonlands National Park. This is the Hardscrabble section going clockwise on White Rim. We capture just how thin the road can get, all the blind hills, and how you can easily do it with 4x4.
We are a family of 5 from the Ozarks in MO. We love to adventure/overland in our 1st Generation Tacoma and see as many National Parks as we can. This trip we did 3 days, 2 nights on the White Rim Road. We camped at White Crack and Hardscrabble B. We also visited Curecanti, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado National Monument, Capitol Reef, Natural Bridges, Monument Valley, Canyon De Chelly, Hubble Traiding Post, El Moro and El Malpais on this trip. Check out our other adventure videos.

So we are driving the White Rim soon with a capable 4x4 F150 and an off road/overland 10’ trailer. Since you have driven it do you think I’ll be able to make all the turns with the truck and small off-road trailer without having to do a 20 point turn?

I would expect you should be fine. There are one or two tight turns is the rubble type part of the track (can’t remember the name of the area) but most of it should be fine. I’m jealous! I want to go back so bad! Enjoy it!

I'm assuming this is a tongue-in-cheek comment. Steep and slow and 2 wheel rear drive isn't the wisest on loose surfaces where a 1 foot slip could end a family tree...
