  • Gansu from South to North (part 5) From the grasslands of southern Gansu I arrive in the provincial capital of Lanzhou. My Gansu silk road journey begins here!
Take a look at The Yellow River, White Pagoda Park, some great food and night markets and of course a little bit of history. I hope you enjoy the video as much as i enjoyed my time in Lanzhou - great city that I will definitely visit again.

it is hard to say which kind of dishes is the best Chinese dishes. I personally like hangzhou dish, but I know Szechuan is the most popular one. The dish of Jiangshu is often used in state banquet of China. Hunan dishes are second most popular in US which is non-canton style food. I know canton food dimsem is famous, and the most likely dishes are peking ducks. However, now days, Shanghai style restaurants are the most popular for oversea Chinese. many many more dishes are likely by different people . Food is the life of Chinese, and everything in China is centered around food : good and bad for Chinese civilization.

Disagree about the food in northwest being the best in China. Huge love to Sichuan food.

    1. too much flooding in yellow river, which is the reason for lack of big cities. 2. large muslin in Central Lanzhou, probably even bigger than xi an. 3. Lanzhou is regarded as one of the poorest provincial capital in China.
