The asparagus fern his full name is asparagus setaceus and is family to asparagus(the vegetable), the xanthosoma was first called 'xanthosoma lindenii' then caladium lindenii' and now 'phyllotaenium lindenii', quite a complicated history 😂.
I happen to have both Phyllotaenium lindenii & Xanthosoma lindenii & they're so different with the size of the leaves, the sinus & venation, so I don't think it's the same
I recently moved to California from Vermont and it's invasive here! It randomly pops up in our garden bed all over the place. It's still one of my favorite plants though (albeit indoors). When I moved I gave away a massive one I had growing in a planter and it feels so funny pulling it out of the earth now.
Liz Cowen The asparagus fern is tough! It is grown outside in home gardens here in Australia and not given any special attention. It is a lovely plant grown for its foliage to be put in a garden posy for a friend when visiting.
Well Kaylee... * Triostar - gorgeus (have one too ❤️) * Variegated Musa - gorgeous * The Wall - absolutely gorgeous ... but what I like the most in this vid ... is your T-shirt 😁😉😁
I didn't know people paid a lot for triostars and magic stars because i got my magic star this year from the supermarket for 6.99 in a beautiful ceramic pot, and it was a large plant. So I guess i'm lucky :) I'm in Scotland and I seem to find plants for under a tenner that online go for a fortune, so i'm very very happy about where i live.
You can get an aspergus fern in tesco for £2.50 if anyone is looking. They aren't labelled only say foliage. Worth keeping an eye out, mines has grown massive
Pretty sure it's that big guy at the lower right, they planted it in the bottom right of the living wall. It looks to be doing quite well from what I can see 👀
Asparagus ferns are considered weeds of national significance here in Australia so we aren't encouraged to keep them. But if people do, the general consensus is keep it contained in a pot and never put it in the ground.
That triostar is sooo lush 😍, I wish I could find one that bushy here but it's either one lonely big plant in an even bigger pot or really little bushy plants lol.
I have the one they called blood banana musa acuminata zebrina, mine currently has 8 leaves, she is doing amazing. I love her. I hope you love yours too.
It is so nice to see some easy to find plants on here, well done Kaylee! Some asparagus ferns are soft but have thorns which really sting so I've not liked them so much. But they do look lovely!!
Yeah if you plop that banana in a rich soil and put her in almost direct light with lots of humidity and water, you can achieve like 4 feet in a year... with the right care. They are super duper heavy feeders because of this. Im in the US, and used to grow giant patches of different Bananas.. we had some 20 & 30 ft trees.
i know the first one as asparagus plumosa. they develop thorns in later life...mine is a baby. i love watching the skeleton fronds fill in and the ever evolving architecture...
I 😍 the asparagus fern! Great choice 😁 Since I put my asparagus fern in lechuza pon (kept the soil clump around the roots, put vulkastrat under and around and on top of the root/soil clump) it has doubled in size and makes beautifull long shoots! Is in vulkastrat since august, 3 months and is still growing shoots now in november. Newest of 90 cm! Never had it grown so good and large. Definitely can recommend self watering pots with vulkastrat/lechuza pon!
Asparagus officinalis -- I was surprised when I saw the garden Asparagus in August. Well past the emerging Spring stalks, they grow up to 5 or 6 feet in a soft fuzzy cone looking quite like the three or four "fern" houseplant species.
Love the stromanthe, got my friend one that size here in the states little larger for a steal of $17, they had it labeled as a variegated ginger. LOVE a good steal
So jealous of variegated musa! I almost bought one last month, but I’m living with my mom until university is finished with and I don’t think she’d appreciate a big musa in the house, especially considering she already doesn’t like the smaller plants I keep in my room lol. Definitely getting one once I move out!
@@alicemoore6724 On a few of the different Indonesian and Thai sites. On EBay too, but there was only 1 listing. Everything at the moment is out of stock or no one is really selling them until the Spring. This is for the Variegated Florida, that is. I’m pretty sure that the Thai and Indonesians sites do have other kinds of Variegated Musa available. Also I’ve seen that a few different Indonesian or Thai growers have these guys in tissue culture, and that they’ll definitely be coming out in Spring 2021.
Wow such a awesome haul. I remember you having those plants in your early videos. In fact I bought a cutting plant of the triostar from you. Still going strong, such a beautiful plant!
Oooh the Triostar is magnificent. I recently lost a large Magic star to overwatering (😬😢) and will likely get one again if I manage to find one with as beautiful variegation as this one had. No problems with it otherwise and it's entertaining what with the moving leaves, so definitely a houseplant favourite 💚
Shame on me for not guessing triostar 🤦🏻♀️! My guesses were warscewiczii, orbifolia and watermelon peperomia. I hope we still get to see a Hoya repot because I love Kaylee’s Hoya 💙!
You know you’re confidant in your living wall pest control when you’re fine to waggle a potentially infected plant around right next to it 😂. My arm was twitching for those few minutes because I’d have thrown it like a fastball out the window if I saw webs on a new plant lol
Beautiful wall of plants! I hope to have something as beautiful for some of my humidity lovers. I was just going to ask how you deal with pests and if you get them... then you said your Totem may have spider mites! Eeek!
That triostar is *enormous*! 😂 I’ve never seen one anywhere close to that big, and the size of it was so unexpected that I laughed out loud! Both the triostar and the magicstar are pretty high on my wishlist (I need to sort out my flat/declutter/buy proper furniture for the areas/rooms that are still very much a work in progress, and I’ve banned myself from going on a plant shopping spree until I know what kind of places I’ll have to put the plants in! It’s supposed to also be serving as motivation to hurry up and make it happen so I can get my plants 😆) - love love love 😍
i dont care if i will have a hard time looking to the plants you will show us as long as you are in that area with your living wall ... you are the only plant youtuber who have that massive living wall sooo USE IT!!! its an eye candy for me buuut i dont know the others i they feel the same way too 😅
Omgosh that triostar is an absolute dream!!! Mine is doing great, but comparatively minuscule. They’re $30 for a 6” pot where I’m at in Washington state, US. I’ve been contemplating buying a couple more & combining them into 1, probably going to now that my jealousy is supremely piqued
The moment she said "this might have spider mites" i got into "protect the living wall AT ALL COST" mode omg that's why I will never get a living wall, I'd become insomniac in no time, afraid of pests 😂
Stromanthe triostar is my all time favourite! Underrated in my opinion.
This video is so refreshing. The rare plants are starting be so common in everyone's instagram and nearly all of the youtube channel. Love this vid!!!
Let’s all be honest- the living wall during “acclimation” still looks more impressive and well cared for than most of our plants as is😂
For a moment I though it was wallpaper.

@@brittewater hahaha well at least it still survived

My anxiety for that plant lol omg I had to come down here to see if anyone else said something lol
I know right :D the only thing that was shaking more in a video then this fern, was Beyonce's ponytail in a live performance of Single Ladies on AMA's
I looove triostars! Gorgeous colours! With you on that!
Thanks for giving common plants love!!
you have to stop downplaying the wall it still looks absolutely crazy amazing! :D

I knew it wasn't caladium! I was always so confused why it was sold as caladium because it looks nothing like it
@@sergiopascale3487 They really are the same plant, maybe one of yours is more mature?
Really cool to see some plants you are passionate about that are a little more accessible. Loved this video
So interesting! I can't get rid of asparagus fern as it is taking over my yard! Banana is everywhere! Love this.
That triostar is huuuuugggeeee. So gorgeous. I just can’t make them happy. 😭😭😭😭
Everytime I see an Asparagus Fern I think of Kaylee. I loved the one that was on your vanity, so glad you have one again ❤
The living wall is a so beautifull backgrounnd!!!

i also love asparagus plumosus because it looks like a fern but doesn't need so much humidity
That Stromanthe is amazing! I love that plant, the leaves look like feathers.
Girl! It’s about time you showcase that living wall! That’s life!
I love what you did for Pam that was wonderful
Thank you :) I'm already thinking of her next gift in the spring ❤❤
Aspargus fern is amazing! I had mine just under the Airconditioning vent, they're extremely resistant.
Stromanthe Triostar are the gift that keeps on giving. Mine has trebled in size in 9 months. They are truly beautiful 😍
I’m getting my first tomorrow. It has two leaves. But she is beautiful to me. Any tips for care? Do they like anything special to be done?
Variegated musa is GORGEOUS!!!
The musa is fabulous....you,ll need to keep a good eye on it for spider mites if your keeping it in your studio upstairs...they are mite magnets!
I have had that musa banana on my wish list for YEARS! So beautiful! Me telling you I’m jealous is an understatement 😍

damn 35 pounds for the tortum of that size! My local shop in Massachusetts USA is selling one leaf 4" pots for over $400 lmao!

I found one in Germany at Dehner for 9,99€! In case any of my German folks are looking for one :)
