Nope its the aircraft. If an aircraft exceeds the 9g its almost always an a full on aircraft inspection. Humans could go beyond 9g if needed (a pilot managed to do 14g in an F-16 while evading a SAM).

Interesting fact, I guess the external fuel tanks have their own fuel starvation mechanic and the plane begins consuming it’s internal fuel when you pull negative G’s.
I'm not sure how it is in warthunder, but the engine shouldnt ever feed directly out of a drop tank. The drop tank just puts more fuel into the internal tank(s) which is then burned. Its how air refueling works, its all linear and through the main tank as a "middle man". If they were not linked through one line, refuelers would have to refuel each tank individually, which would either be impossible or a nightmare. Kinda raises my eyebrow at the "I'll take a burn tank and drop it to shed weight" tactic I think phly used in his fulcrum video(?), since taking 30min internal should be the same as 20+tank of 10, so carrying it externally makes no sense. Just put it internally and burn off the weight initially, but then again I wouldnt be surprised if gaijiggles has neglected fuel mechanics no one cares about, so the tactic makes total sense if gaijin has it modeled wrong... which is totally plausible. In any case, negative Gs on any plane for prolonged amounts of time is bad, engines will start stalling and dying, pressures can go out of wack. I think the only plane I know of off the top of my head that can do inverted stuff for prolonged time periods is the Yak52 since it has an inverted carburetor built into the engine. Irl anyway... gaijin's universe is... well, very gaijin.

In game they just subtract from internal load/time during that time to simulate that. The engine always feeds directly off of the reservoir tanks on the F16. It will get fuel no matter what the plane is doing. Many different tanks all interconnected into two main pathways.

The F16 actually didn’t have to have much g-limits because near Mach 1 the F16A had a compression problem that caused the controls to lock, but it was capable of sustaining 9Gs for a relatively long time
Gaijin add a G-Limit to planes that have it irl to protect the air frame but planes that don’t have it irl are permanently damaged forever. It’s crazy to me that they implemented this to the F-16 and MiG-29 since every super sonic plane got a free pass up until now.
Gaijin even said once, the reason they let aircraft pull more G's then they are supposed to is to make gameplay more fun. And honestly gameplay in these new jets isn't as fun. It feels like I'm flying a f104 even though I'm in one of the most maneuverable planes irl. If it stays like this, the F14B is gonna clap everything when it gets introduced. Cause it doesn't have fly by wire so gaijin allows it to pull 12g. And it can carry aim9l/m and aim7m/h/p. They really need change this.
The G-limiter for the F-16 isn't limited for the airframe, its limited for the pilots safety. Supposedly it can pull 13-15Gs but no human can hold up to that amount of force.
The G limit is kind of funny since Gaijin puts a 1.5x (or something like that) multiplier on airframe G strength for game mechanics and general playability, but not also putting 1.5x G limiter on the 9G limit to make it 13.5 is kind of hilarious.
The 9G limiter was for the pilot, the airframe was rated for 12-15gs. Since the pilot doesn't matter in wt, with the 1.5x multiplier it should be able to pull 18-22.5g's.
As long as you guys leave my SB alone idc what you want, but imo the p51 can only do that many g because your pilot stamina and g tolerance and qualifications get high enough to sustain 9 and from then on you can pull more but you will black out quicker. Anything over 8 your pilot should feel it in game, because it does matter. That's your crew
Would be cool to have a mode thats a 6v6 but have lots of ai (improved/competent) air and ground units spread out. Maybe even some infantry engagements where you need to help out with rockets, bombs, strafing, ect. Sead missions/escorts missions stuff like that it would make the game more interesting and engaging than furball simulator 1,000,000.
In the hangar where it says "There is no armor protection on this vehicle" makes me think who would have guessed that the design philosophy behind the A6M would be so prevalent this many years after WW2? Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, who needs armor when one can jink?
I have seen these aircraft pull off absolutely insane maneuvers irl. It disappoints me to see how sluggish it is in game, even if it is semi realistic at higher speeds.
Its low speed maneuverability is actually fantastic in-game, but in this video he didn't really get the chance to showcase it cause he was going to fast, and every time he did lose his speed he got slapped by a missile before he could get in a good dogfight. I think it's cause RB at top tier right now is basically a 3 minute furball of missiles. Hop into a custom match with some friends and do some 1v1s with the F-16 and you'll see it do some crazy stuff.
Warthunder is a Russian game company. Not a chance in hell Putin is going to allow the F16 to be depicted without a huge artificial nerf with current events. Unfortunately.
Also, your radar scope is set to too small a range! Those EC maps can be 150km across and at high altitudes, players can score missile kills from 80km.
This man is making me go nutty with all these intros involving the Ace Combat themes. I absolutely love all of these recent intros and is making me extremely crave playing some more Ace Combat 6 & 7.
Yeah its funny how quick jet battles end these days. Its one furball in the beginning of the game and 95% of the time the game ends there. I'd love to see a 1v1 mode where we can have a BVR --> ACM 1v1 against another aircraft of similar BR. Would be fun to hone the dogfighting skills.
Another idea: Make each ‘centre’ grid square a capture point and double ticket numbers. Whichever team has more planes in a grid gets the grid, and the other team starts losing tickets. And here’s the thing - it shouldn’t matter if there are 5 more planes or 1 per grid, it’s captured at the same speed. This would discourage furballing, as if you start doing that the other team can just capture 5 grids and win.
@@carrott36 Because if you spread them all out in 1 grid square. I'll slap them in my F-14 using the Sparrow. Even then, I could use TWS and the AiM-54. They wouldn't really know. BVR king is still the F-14 and the F-4J. No doubt. All you'd do is make it where the other nations who are WVR will get smacked. Like, what will some jets do? TWS doesn't activate the RWR warning. And the AiM-54 will pitbull at a max of 16km or closer. And I can also carry Sparrows to make up for the closer range stuff. Especially if they implement no more mixed matches, it doesn't need to historical matchups. But like no more USA v USA + others type of deal. You'd just get to chose, defending the entire time. Or gamble and try to close distance.
Phly the MiG-29 now has R-27ER which are the fastest radar missiles in game, max speed is Mach 5 but realistically it’s just simply on average the fastest missile in game so you should definitely fly it again real quick for a video. Thank you!
G-limits are there for the entire projected lifespan, during real combat babying the plane to keep the bean counters happy isn't a priority, staying alive is = You pull what you think you can handle, it won''t break.
I have now been playing 3 days with the F-16 and its super fun ! I normaly try to bait players to slow speeds and then just dominate them :D There isn't anything in top tier that can out turn f-16 in under 900km/h speed :D One thing I noticed too is that if you have radar lock on the target your AIM-9L's will be more likely to go thru flares.
Honestly im surprised the community whining actually achieved making Gaijin do something good for the game for once. Now if only we could bitch enough about "Statistical balancing" to get them to stop fucking doing it.

I made a comment on your Mig-29 Video, you made mention of how Mach 1.2 was surprising & that it’s the fastest you’ve gone without a custom server booster of course, and you should get back to playing Swedish top tier, the new Ja37D is quite nice with the Aim-9Ls, skyflashes we’re nerfed like crazy but they can be worth the pylon sometimes. But the Viggens both C & D can reach Mach 1.2 on the deck with very little issues, some effort needs to be put in, but I find myself going Mach 1.16-1.20 every match if not every other in either of them. Glad to see you’re back and having fun, we’ve needed someone more positive in the community again, War Thunder seems to be having a drop in the friendly players department.
The ADF in the name stands for "Air Dominance Fighter" Hence why is has the ability to carry the AIM-7M whereas it's F-16A counterpart can't since it is the Multi-role variant.
It’s “Air Defense Fighter”. The one in the US tree has the modification package specifically meant for state Air National Guards, basically to intercept Soviet nuclear strike bombers.
Both the F16 and F18 have a system limit, you can damage the air frame by pulling to many Gs, but you can pull more with less weapons, cos you can't really push 7G without ripping off your weapons
so other planes with no system limit cannot damage their airframe? since when has this game implemented this thing properly? and suddenly, they're in this realistic pretense of implementing this thing ONLY on these new planes while mig 23s and f14s and mirage 2000s doing 15gs without any care.
There is a button to disable the g-limiter if shit really hits the fan. It's not a good idea to do it for a long time. But if you fucked up and are about lawn dart into the ground, both planes are capable of pulling significantly more than 9g for short bursts of time.
suggestion for the f-16 homies out there: best turn speeds are 500 to 800 km/h, tending a bit towards the lower half for one circle / scissors etc. and a bit more towards the higher half for two circle / spiral / rate fight etc.

I notice you take burner out to conserve fuel, but it has negative effects on the missile's performance It's also worth mentioning that many aircraft suffer structural damage past 9gs it just isn't modeled in-game so the F-16 appears hindered.

The AF Thunderbirds have their G-limters modified (higher G tolerances for their aerobatics) and several of their stunts have them performing 9G maneuvers that last anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds. The limiter is more to protect the pilot than to protect the airframe.

The new map with the big canyon I played on that map low br but there where so much fog like underneath the fog you can only see 100 meters of land it was cool though to technically fight in the dark chance of hitting each other was so high

You may already know Phly, but on the Dev Stream they stated that both Italy and US would "receive another fighter if it is ready." Obviously I imagine many US mains did whine and complain, but it wasn't necessarily Gaijin giving in to those complaints and giving this fighter out of thin air. Besides, the F14 still reigns supreme and I think you should take it out to curb stomp.

In planes, you just get hit by missiles which WILL DESTROY YOUR PLANE, or very high caliber guns where armor is irrelevant

Play some sim if you're I'm the mood for drawn out emersive gameplay. Matches usually last a full 3 hours and it's super intense.
And most of your fights are going to be 1v1 dogfights in Sim too

Phly the MiG-29 now has R-27ER which are the fastest radar missiles in game, max speed is Mach 5 but realistically it’s just simply on average the fastest missile in game so you should definitely fly it again real quick for a video. Thank you!

G-limits are there for the entire projected lifespan, during real combat babying the plane to keep the bean counters happy isn't a priority, staying alive is = You pull what you think you can handle, it won''t break.
I have now been playing 3 days with the F-16 and its super fun ! I normaly try to bait players to slow speeds and then just dominate them :D There isn't anything in top tier that can out turn f-16 in under 900km/h speed :D One thing I noticed too is that if you have radar lock on the target your AIM-9L's will be more likely to go thru flares.

I made a comment on your Mig-29 Video, you made mention of how Mach 1.2 was surprising & that it’s the fastest you’ve gone without a custom server booster of course, and you should get back to playing Swedish top tier, the new Ja37D is quite nice with the Aim-9Ls, skyflashes we’re nerfed like crazy but they can be worth the pylon sometimes. But the Viggens both C & D can reach Mach 1.2 on the deck with very little issues, some effort needs to be put in, but I find myself going Mach 1.16-1.20 every match if not every other in either of them. Glad to see you’re back and having fun, we’ve needed someone more positive in the community again, War Thunder seems to be having a drop in the friendly players department.

The ADF in the name stands for "Air Dominance Fighter" Hence why is has the ability to carry the AIM-7M whereas it's F-16A counterpart can't since it is the Multi-role variant.
It’s “Air Defense Fighter”. The one in the US tree has the modification package specifically meant for state Air National Guards, basically to intercept Soviet nuclear strike bombers.
It also has a very basic air to air tracking HUD and the worst radar of any F16 in the game, so yeah I'd want this defending my air for sure

Both the F16 and F18 have a system limit, you can damage the air frame by pulling to many Gs, but you can pull more with less weapons, cos you can't really push 7G without ripping off your weapons
so other planes with no system limit cannot damage their airframe? since when has this game implemented this thing properly? and suddenly, they're in this realistic pretense of implementing this thing ONLY on these new planes while mig 23s and f14s and mirage 2000s doing 15gs without any care.
There is a button to disable the g-limiter if shit really hits the fan. It's not a good idea to do it for a long time. But if you fucked up and are about lawn dart into the ground, both planes are capable of pulling significantly more than 9g for short bursts of time.

best turn speeds are 500 to 800 km/h, tending a bit towards the lower half for one circle / scissors etc. and a bit more towards the higher half for two circle / spiral / rate fight etc.

I'm not sure how much you know about BVR engagements, but you wanna be as fast and high as possible to get a high probability of kill. I notice you take burner out to conserve fuel, but it has negative effects on the missile's performance
It's also worth mentioning that many aircraft suffer structural damage past 9gs it just isn't modeled in-game so the F-16 appears hindered.

@@stevenortiz9008 they NEEDED to add the realistic G limits at some point. The F-5 can pull like 13Gs in war thunder but will literally pull its wings off at 7 irl... The F-16 has a hard G limit of 9Gs. It wont allow you to pull more, and thats what the limit should be in game too.

@@Jacksonflax IRL F16s can definitely pull at least 9Gs. The AF Thunderbirds have their G-limters modified (higher G tolerances for their aerobatics) and several of their stunts have them performing 9G maneuvers that last anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds. The limiter is more to protect the pilot than to protect the airframe.
I think the F-16 vs MiG-29 debate is summed up well by this quote from a F-15 demo pilot: "The F-16 only has one engine"

The new map with the big canyon I played on that map low br but there where so much fog like underneath the fog you can only see 100 meters of land it was cool though to technically fight in the dark chance of hitting each other was so high

All planes have G limits. Why is Gaijin only "enforcing" it on the F16? Unless they're telling me that Phantoms and Migs were normally capable of pulling 16G turns. If they're going for realism, fine, but put in limits across the board. Mig 29 pulls over 9G? Wing rip.
What I’m trying to say is it doesn’t make sense to me that they put a 9G limit on the F-16 when the F-14 can pull 12 Gs when IRL it had a 6-7G limit

You may already know Phly, but on the Dev Stream they stated that both Italy and US would "receive another fighter if it is ready." Obviously I imagine many US mains did whine and complain, but it wasn't necessarily Gaijin giving in to those complaints and giving this fighter out of thin air.
