The Delphi Fly Fishing School | Wild Irish Salmon

It was a fantastic day! Niall and I enjoyed our first fly fishing lesson at Delphi Lodge. We had a chance to fish on Finlough and the Bundorragha River in Connemara. It was not easy, we have to say. Niall did his best to catch any fish on his first fly fishing day. We were told that the month of September can be tough. It was good that I was not fishing, because the spectacular scenery around us was very distractive. I would sit there with the rod and my mouth open looking over the mountains and would miss all the fish :) Connemara is a perfect place for fishing 👍 Closer to the evening, Niall caught his first Wild Atlantic salmon (about 2,5 kg) from the bridge in Bundorragha River with the help of fishing instructor, Teddy. We were over the moon. It is a rule in Ireland that if you catch a wild salmon or sea trout, it must be released. No problem. We enjoyed the fishing most and will treasure our first unforgettable experience of fly fishing in Connemara. Thank you Teddy and all the team at Delphi Lodge.
