- We popped in to the Good Fryday Burnout at Sydney Dragway to check out the action and found this totally insane little rotary powered Suzuki van ripping a few skids. Check out that glowing exhaust. We've seen a few hot systems in our time but never one that glowed so brightly.
I was there that night, this thing got the loudest cheerz, rotary burnouts happen all the time in NZ but hardly ever here so it was awesome to see (& hear) XD

gotta love the power of rotary, the least you will do is make your exhaust glow red, the worst you'll do is pop an apex seal, you can always fix it in a matter of days!

anyone know wether or not this thing is turbo'd? didn't sound like it, but dat glowing, blue flame spitting exhaust and dat powar makes me wonder
Was NA,got turbo'd somewhere between late 2012 to early 2013.

I love this crazy stuff!! But I think I'd put a roll cage in there, and because it's kinda tall and tippy I'd put in a window net too...

Y los más antiguos llegaron sólo hasta los 120 kilómetros por hora y cargaban 550 kilos igual que los daihatsu de los 80tas el daihatsu sólo tenía 550cc y llegaba hasta los 100 kilómetros nada más ji cuando niño yo mi padre tuvo un daihatsu modelo 1984 y un tío mío tuvo un suzuki carri año 1983 de 850cc el suzuki fue el mejor furgón de los 80tas y el daihatsu también eso.

That is the maddest burnout ive seen for a long time.
But this about apex seals it's funny imo, we all know about rotary weakness, at first I thought the same thing :P some sort of dark comedy.
other hand, rotaries should be wisely cooled, you think this engine will be works fine after this heating? or even baking inside this box...

Sounded like a 12A, they're fucking solid when they aren't turbo'd. Keep the oil up to them and they'll last as long as you will. People forget rotaries aren't pistons henceforth they have a completely different set of maintenance requirements! Keep em happy and they'll be brappy haha.
the engine would not sound good if it puked out a seal. (klakakalak) and also seals are not that big. the piece it puked out was almost golf ball sized. also about half way though your'll notice the exhaust drip molten metal. thats what got me.
I think it was prob just bits of weld or something from a backyard exhaust job maybe :) it wasn't dying he came back for another solid skid after this with no probs at all, thing is as tuff as nails XD

fuck thats crazyy, cool lil car it only has like 130hp atw, on the powercruise dyno but still did a cool skid, it needs a 13b pp with 300hp atw that would be more insteresting ;)
nah its just melted exhaust. my fb burnt a hole straight through the cat just from warming up. if he toasted the engine it would of sounded a lot different.

An engine would fail and refuse to turn/run way before parts of it would come flying out of the exhaust.
Once up to temp, that sucker about holds a constant flame! I love it!
