made sure to pick up stun disrupter for dealing w/ machines. wasted shotgun and pistol ammo instead upon first encounter with machine enemy. Perception -1
He did not need to, he just used the wrong gun for the situation. It is not that hard if you finished it once already, you just need to be more through and get all the resources not like Jon, missing 1/2 of them because of low perception :P
I see that Jon never learned how to deal with robots. Disruptor does increased damage to robots, while ballistic weaponry does reduced. This is even mentioned in the enemy profiles when you scan them.
Yeap, etherical phantoms and 2 greater mimics appear when you go back to your office to check the rest of the video. There are 2 etherical phantoms in the conference room and your turret near the stairs triggered them. There are 2 greater mimics in the little corridor to your office. Put two reinforced turrent near your office entrance, so when you come back they kill the mimics easily and help you against the phantoms
you can actually get into Psychotronics beforehand. The window next to the door can be broken and you can reach through to a terminal that allows you to unlock the door
Wait, so now there's actual risk? Actual tension? Actual terror? With a trauma effect tree and weapon degradation that can prevent you from sticking to tried and true playstyles or Jon's 'stealth archer' as it were? Making the redundant systems to get through problems in different ways actually useful instead of filler features?? All of a sudden this game went from average eye candy to really good and also eye candy I might actually have to give this a buy now.
I consider the game very good to begin with, but it doesn't change much. Weapon degradation and oxygen leaking is a gimmik as you never lack spare part to fix them. The trauma system is good but you find tons of healing object very soon.
Smitje Jon didn't even show everything. For example when he said that he needed a key card to get to Psychotronics, he actually didn't, you can break a window and shoot a button with the crossbow to open the door. Or when he said that he needed leverage, he didn't. He could've used recycler grenade to clear boxes in his way
Soooooo I recently started playing Prey 2017 for the first time through, on hard, and could never figure out how to get a drop on the Mimics...thanks to you lad, now I do! Just play this shit like GMod Prop Hunt. xD
y'know that mimic that reproduces on the other side of the airlock? well the 4 it makes despawn when the airlock opens. so they're never actually there (the way i see it, the ones in the room aren't those exact mimics that spawned for the scene, the mimics in the room (from a game dev perspective) were always there. the airlock ones were just for the scene) (also you CAN in fact hit the first phantom, it's rather funny actually since he can't do shit to you)
You can? It's been a long ass time since I did the intro, but you are talking about the phantom behind the glass in the piano room right? How do you manage to hit him?
this is hugely late and someone may have said it already but can't help but say at 21:14 if he just looked up a bit he would find out he can get the shotgun by crawling through a vent....
Prey deserves game of the year, well done Jon. However for the second time Jon misses the theater scene(the safest path) simply because he is scared to explore in an exploring designed game. Apart from the safe whose hint for the code is attached to it.(the elements table) Jon observe a bit more, it will give you huge rewards in prey.
The recycler charge can be used in all leverage items. Good for accessing places that are restricted behind the higher tiers of leverage. You can also use them on the bots, better for multiple enemies. U missed the medkit fabrication in the medbot room. And btw northerners r the best folk in the world☺
he missed 2 naromods which are in the fire alarms and the handgun in margins office small safe. if your had the pre order your get 2 upgrades and a golden shotgun in the big safe. he keeps missing the medkit blueprint.
hey, I haven't finished but if you do more this or mooncrash the red button on the sides of the doors will lock them from the inside, keeping you semi safe from certain types of titan.
I really want to love Prey, but I literally cannot cope with the horror elements. When I tried to play, I spent an hour gathering turrets outside Morgan's office and then building up the courage to go outside. I would always make sure to save and quit while in the office so that I could come back to a stress free environment, but it was all too stressful. Mooncrash was fine in the first run, but it kept (moon)crashing to desktop so I never actually finished it, and now I know about the monster that chases you if you touch the ground, I am not touching that with a ten foot pole...
The monster that chases you if you touch the ground (Moon Shark) isn't as bad as it sounds. Stay off the sand; if you touch the sand, get off of the sand and stop moving. The Moon Shark can't see so you can be almost right in front of it and it will just look around then go back underground. It is more of an annoyance than a real threat. Plus it is always marked so you can see it at all times if you want to move on the sand.
my first instinct was to say that prey isn't really that scarry, but then I remembered what I do for a living and realized that I might not be the best judge of that.
I recently beat a nightmare survival mode with no neromods. It was hard but I finished it. Im not trying to brag but whats the point in doing the challenge if nobody knows
I’m pretty sure it’s because of the ending. In actuality, you are a typhon that Alex is trying to train to develop empathy, and therefor unable to speak.
It would make more sense that Morgan would still be able to speak as a Typhon imo, due to lesser Typhon's ability to do so. It would make the reveal in the ending more of a shock for sure
+Prensftw actually, its possible the typhoon dont actually speak either. any time you hear something from them they all repeat the same quotes usually about what something looks like in "the glass" which could be them telepathically trying to communicate to you about the looking glass that you are in. this would mean no one else in the simulation would hear them either and as the game shows with various hints, despite it being a simulation, either your inner typhoon or typhoon in a far away area are trying to communicate to you while you are in the simulation. just a interesting theory.
(Goes into medical room) "Jon, The medkit Fab plan... Um... Jon? Pickup the fab plan... Jon..." (goes into maintenance vent) "Jon, you missed the medkit Fab plan... Did, you not see it?" (goes outside) "sigh..."
Ironically the beginning was the reason why i was so disappointed with the game. The later part doesn't stand up at all to the amazing beginning. Small levels with massive backtracking. Which makes it one of the biggest falloffs in gaming history. Interestingly the beginning of the original Prey was also absolutely amazing. The fear the reaper moment... Then it was a scripted shooter with soem fun gravity effects. But it was short and over before it could become tedious.
Jon I have a challenge for you in ultimate epic battle simulator have as many romans you want and buff them however you feel fit [add health damage] or archers if you want fight as many enemy’s as possible
Okay, most of the changes Nightmare mode bring in were what I'd have made normal mode for instance. But I'd have removed the HP bar so you'd never really know how close to dying you are, mimics would punch way harder, et cetera. This game gives you more power than I would have done, you can make ammo from resources you find, health (in normal mode at least) was everywhere and enemies are more straight slugging matches than trying to sneak around them or desperately identify a target before they get the drop on you. Basically the first two episodes of Prey that Jon uploaded where he's panicked by everything and desperately trying not to die and cowering behind turrets - that was my ideal Prey.
Shotgun is fun, sure, but fun doesn't mean it's good against everything. You really seem to lack a basic understanding of how enemy weaknesses work. Maybe you need to play the game some more, and learn not to panic fire at everything, you'd probably save a lot of ammo.
Joshua Perry It's basically Euro Truck Sim in space, if that's your thing. If you want something more substantial, I'd suggest waiting for star citizen, but we'll probably all be dead before that happens.
Hah, literally just did this on Prey without a single death. Real easy if you rush for health upgrades and get the neuromod plans from the top floor in the Neuromod divison immediantly after you clear the lobby. Then you just recklessly shotgun your way to the end game.
"I like having a shotgun"
**Misses the shotgun in his office**
Perception -5
Yea i did not find it in survival mode either, thought it will come later, never did, not that i needed it, but could have used the metal :P
Jeff Vella did you preorder?
Jon you have the survival instincts of a potato. You opened the door, then ran into the line of fire of the turrets.
Idk... even potatoes know to stay out of the way of turrets. Why do you think potatoes live in the ground, where there are no turrets, coincidence?
This crazy woman showed up at my office and destroyed all the mugs. Bloody hell how am i supposed to drink coffee now?
Drink vodka then
"ah yes, I forgot that, electricity bad for people"
lol
made sure to pick up stun disrupter for dealing w/ machines. wasted shotgun and pistol ammo instead upon first encounter with machine enemy.
Perception -1
More like Panic +5
ToaDrakua also accurate
Pulled out the crate in the middle so the top one falls on him. Perception -1
jazy921
Him and Claire should make a one off Jenga gameplay vid XD
jon: this is a permadeath
me: * checks video length* " 1 hour 11, well shit jon good job"
I love how Jon has gone so strategic thanks to survival mode.
This was bloody awesome. Props to you Jon
Gonna be honest, the sprinting in and out in combat focus is pretty badass
"i'm under stress i'm making bad decisions..."
that has never been a necessary prerequisite...
Yeap, etherical phantoms and 2 greater mimics appear when you go back to your office to check the rest of the video.

Keeps walking past the medkit fabrication plan. Facepalm.
Roytulin Henson -1 perception
My favourite thing is Jon trying to sneak and then hoofing it when he sees something, gun bobbing
TWO breasts, huh? Sounds suspicious... I guess I’ll need to investigate, just to be certain..
you can actually get into Psychotronics beforehand.
The window next to the door can be broken and you can reach through to a terminal that allows you to unlock the door
ME: (turns on nightmare difficulty) Instadies everytime (sleeps at night with all lights on)
Oh, this is going to be a real nightmare.
Jon there's a big pipe line on top of security office you can use to get inside without the keycard
also using the crossbow you can open the door from the counter hole.
Jeff Vella huntress boltcaster
yea thanks
HaseCSGO -1 perception
Jon you can set up kill zones with the turrets when you leave the area then come back you can pick up the goods.its an easy way to resupply yourself.
Anyone else read the comments to read about all the stuff Jon missed?
I want to see Jon play the Long Dark with all difficulties maxed.
Wait, so now there's actual risk? Actual tension? Actual terror? With a trauma effect tree and weapon degradation that can prevent you from sticking to tried and true playstyles or Jon's 'stealth archer' as it were? You are honestly the best
It was a good run while it lasted! Well done!
I played the demo for this a few days ago and wasn't hooked, but I had no idea it was so open that there was so much choice.
Smitje Jon didn't even show everything. For example when he said that he needed a key card to get to Psychotronics, he actually didn't, you can break a window and shoot a button with the crossbow to open the door.

Can the recycle throw able be used to clear boxes requiring leverage 1?
Love jons paranoia in this game: more please
So busy cpomplaining that he wasted his medkits, he left the schematic fot medkits. Never change, Jon.
y'know that mimic that reproduces on the other side of the airlock? well the 4 it makes despawn when the airlock opens. so they're never actually there
(the way i see it, the ones in the room aren't those exact mimics that spawned for the scene, the mimics in the room (from a game dev perspective) were always there. the airlock ones were just for the scene)

with the wrench, aim at the glass and it'll break, when the phantom goes close to the window you smack 'em in the face
Ah, I see. Nice, hahah.
yeah it was really funny and when he runs off i like to think it's cause i smacked 'em in the face
If there is an option to disable Motion Blurr please do it if you decide to upload another video of Prey in the future.
Audio is out of sync!
Hopalongtom Yeah I got that too, started happening around the first Phantom fight in the hardware labs, or at least that's when I noticed it
Alexa Valkyrie
I think it slowly starts to desync little by little at some point on, it seems to gets worse the more the vid advances.
It's about damn time o Magnificent Jon
Take a drink for every time Jon destroys an innocent mug.
PROP HUNT HAS PREPARED ME FOR THIS MOMENT!
this is hugely late and someone may have said it already but can't help but say at 21:14 if he just looked up a bit he would find out he can get the shotgun by crawling through a vent....
When is the next episode coming?
Jeppek1ng it's a single time thing.
It was yolo run...
You can skip over to psycotronics if you have the huntress boltcaster because there is a terminal that unlocks the door.
Prey deserves game of the year, well done Jon.
However for the second time Jon misses the theater scene(the safest path) simply because he is scared to explore in an exploring designed game.
Apart from the safe whose hint for the code is attached to it.(the elements table)
Jon observe a bit more, it will give you huge rewards in prey.
Have you considered giving Invisible Inc. a try? It's a bit like XCOM only with a heavy focus on stealth. I think you'd enjoy it.
Though I'm not Jon I've had my eye on it for a while. What's it like?
It is perfection.
Worth a try at least
Highly enjoyable
The recycler charge can be used in all leverage items. Good for accessing places that are restricted behind the higher tiers of leverage. You can also use them on the bots, better for multiple enemies. U missed the medkit fabrication in the medbot room. And btw northerners r the best folk in the world☺
you said : why did i actually waste my medkits and in the same moment you ran missing medkit fabricator plan that was just next to you:D
And now its time to beat the mind game, again
he missed 2 naromods which are in the fire alarms and the handgun in margins office small safe. if your had the pre order your get 2 upgrades and a golden shotgun in the big safe. he keeps missing the medkit blueprint.
You do know that some emails on the computer contain password right? Also there is a bit of a delay in the audio
Perception -10,000 for the not hitting of the button.
Was audio out of sync for anyone else.
Did he ever play Typhon Hunter??
hey, I haven't finished but if you do more this or mooncrash the red button on the sides of the doors will lock them from the inside, keeping you semi safe from certain types of titan.
I just realized this while playing mooncrash, the buttons are small and unassuming
Jon seams to have forgotten all of the passwords from his previous playthrough.
Jon, did you know you can lock doors too? Phantoms probably don't have keycards or hacking skils. =)
Turrets were my best friend when I played, I even didn't take a single typhon neuromod when I found out they would turn on me for it
The monster that chases you if you touch the ground (Moon Shark) isn't as bad as it sounds. Stay off the sand; if you touch the sand, get off of the sand and stop moving. The Moon Shark can't see so you can be almost right in front of it and it will just look around then go back underground. It is more of an annoyance than a real threat. Plus it is always marked so you can see it at all times if you want to move on the sand.
the game isnt even horror. more like suspense lol
my first instinct was to say that prey isn't really that scarry, but then I remembered what I do for a living and realized that I might not be the best judge of that.
Raximous Prime you can have 2 typhon neuromods and they still won't shoot you
This will be good
I like your acent
I read Prey, nightmare survival mode I had to watch it
Audio kinda breaks around 36 minutes. Might just be me but IDK
Runs right by the medkit fabrication plans four times...
Does anyone know if there is a gloo gun mod for Fallout 4?
I tried searching for "gloo" on nexusmods, but the only results that came up were about weather effects, matching up with the word "gloom."
I think it would have to already be part of the engine.
I like how Windows 10 tells you when a youtuber that you have subbed to uploads!
U didn’t grab the cosmic shotgun in the locker in the office
you gotta learn to stop crossing your turrets line-of-fire...
I recently beat a nightmare survival mode with no neromods. It was hard but I finished it. Im not trying to brag but whats the point in doing the challenge if nobody knows
With Jon playing games on hard mode, maybe we can see him play xcom w/ the long war?
You shouldn't be playing games that are on sale, Jon. You make me want to buy them.
Is it explained by in-game lore why you are a silent protagonist except in many recordings of yourself in this game?
I’m pretty sure it’s because of the ending. In actuality, you are a typhon that Alex is trying to train to develop empathy, and therefor unable to speak.
It would make more sense that Morgan would still be able to speak as a Typhon imo, due to lesser Typhon's ability to do so. It would make the reveal in the ending more of a shock for sure
Why would speak when you are alone most of the time?
+Prensftw actually, its possible the typhoon dont actually speak either. any time you hear something from them they all repeat the same quotes usually about what something looks like in "the glass" which could be them telepathically trying to communicate to you about the looking glass that you are in. this would mean no one else in the simulation would hear them either and as the game shows with various hints, despite it being a simulation, either your inner typhoon or typhoon in a far away area are trying to communicate to you while you are in the simulation. just a interesting theory.
How could you forget the Black Market Caches you can accidentally start to find? Screaming at the screen!
Please don't tell me you need to complete this for the PS4 platinum.
Anyone listened to a perfect circle's new album?
Audio gets more out of sync the longer the video goes on for.
Make a play through
Jon can you have Clare try? (Sorry if names are spelled wrong)
Close enough, all you were missing was an i, Claire
so instead of just saving 2 neuromods to get 4 total, you decide its best to just make sure you have zero...
This should have been GOTY 2017
Oh I love weapon degradation. Survival mechanics are my favorite
I now that place thats place in the third birthday
(Goes into medical room)
"Jon, The medkit Fab plan... Um... Jon? Pickup the fab plan... Jon..."
(goes into maintenance vent)
"Jon, you missed the medkit Fab plan... Did, you not see it?"
(goes outside)
"sigh..."
Witcher 3 has survival mode too...
Ironically the beginning was the reason why i was so disappointed with the game. The later part doesn't stand up at all to the amazing beginning. Small levels with massive backtracking. Which makes it one of the biggest falloffs in gaming history.

Question...Can a Mimic Mimic a Mimic? Say that 3 times fast. lol
This audio is completely fucked, unless thats just my app?
if there is one thing i learned from 4chan its,
Dubs, always Check em. 👉
Jon I have a challenge for you in ultimate epic battle simulator have as many romans you want and buff them however you feel fit [add health damage] or archers if you want fight as many enemy’s as possible
The....the code for the safe is in the security room....
I wasn't surprised considering the roundabout way he got into the security office, instead of the straightforward easy route through the vent.
You missed the med kit plans like 4 times dude you need to be more observant
Whatever Morgan Yu do Yu
I was always betrayed by how this game went down the Action RPG route more than it went for the sheer paranoid terror this game could have been.
Venus Victrix explain?
Okay, most of the changes Nightmare mode bring in were what I'd have made normal mode for instance. But I'd have removed the HP bar so you'd never really know how close to dying you are, mimics would punch way harder, et cetera. Venus Victrix You make some good points. With the health bar however there usually is an option in games to customise the HUD.
Shotgun is fun, sure, but fun doesn't mean it's good against everything. You really seem to lack a basic understanding of how enemy weaknesses work. Maybe you need to play the game some more, and learn not to panic fire at everything, you'd probably save a lot of ammo.
35th!
jon me man its funny
Am I the only one who's kinda spazzing out cause jon is somewhat of a noob when it comes to knowledge at the game
Plz play moar
Does anyone play Elite Dangerous is it as good a space explorey game as No Mans Sky should have been?
Joshua Perry It's basically Euro Truck Sim in space, if that's your thing. If you want something more substantial, I'd suggest waiting for star citizen, but we'll probably all be dead before that happens.
I do like Truck Simulator :(
Hah, literally just did this on Prey without a single death. Real easy if you rush for health upgrades and get the neuromod plans from the top floor in the Neuromod divison immediantly after you clear the lobby. Then you just recklessly shotgun your way to the end game.
First comment!
imo you should go full alien neuromod so the nightmare comes as often as possible :D
Audio is out of sync!
