Denise Nicole Wilson Mendez Most of us 8th graders were drinking Beer in 1976. So much for us Catholics being Catholics drinking beer at 14 years old. Us boys went crazy there was girl that looked like Steavie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac.
After all those years I can’t choose between It’s one of those nights and Looking thru the eyes of love but in a close finish it probably will be Looking ... What a gifted singer David Cassidy was. I enjoyed every singje episode of the Partridge Family. An everlasting memory of youth long gone by.
I feel NO GUILT! :) I was 10 when David Cassidy started on that show. I was instantly in Love. That Voice. That Face. That Hair. I wanted to be Mrs. Keith Partridge so badly.
I had this album when I was in fourth grade. The days before I lost my innocence. Used to listen to this all alone by myself. I think I had my first kiss that summer 1972. It was at the YMCA. What a great time to be a kid!
John Lennon always said that "I Think I Love You" was the perfect pop song (and it remains incredibly catchy). But this is the superior song. So yes, I do think this is the best Partridge Family song. I'll Meet You Halfway is another great one.
This is my all time favourite of David Cassidy and The Partridge Family, I've even got the karaoke version and sing it regularly at social venues (pre-covid) of course.
David Cassidy wanted a little more mature sound on the Partridges' records, and got it with this 1971 song from Tony Romeo. Cassidy nailed the vocal and the sound is perfect. For my money, their best 45.
The simplicity of our youth can never be shown as easy as this. That distinctive voice of David Cassidy and studio based backing ( except for mama Shirley Jones ) will always be a joy to our ears.
The Partridge Family sure had some good songwriters, melodic catchy simple happy soul tunes! In their own sort of way they were right up there with The Carpenters music, just good listening stuff all the way through!

It's not just a great song "for the time," it's a great song PERIOD. They had good songwriters and members of The Wrecking Crew playing those instruments. I always thought this one was under-acknowledged, and might have gotten more attention if someone like Glen Campbell had recorded it. And unlike a lot of teen idols of that time, David Cassidy could really sing.
Not only is this my favorite PF song, but it describes every girl I had a crush on growing up. Also nice to hear the full version, since the cut parts are among the most beautiful.

There is nothing 'guilty pleasure' about these backing musicians. Sounds like 'The Wrecking Crew'.

Tony Romeo made a strong nod to Richard Rodgers on this one.

Richard Rodgers a legendary Broadway composer
Good songwriters and producers not to take away from David Cassidy's great vocal.
Had David's poster on my wall along side Mark Lindsey, the Monkees, and Bobby Sherman. *sigh*
A nod to Rodgers and Hammerstein and Shirley Jones's start.
Del Smith I heard Shirley had to have Teamsters teach her to drive the Bus
