Great episode guys. I’d really like to see pamphlets with more patches, trinkets, and equipment. Any material that takes away the burden of being a warden is truly amazing. Also, d100 tables like that make it really easy to roll up characters for npc creation. Regardless, thank you for your work and I’m so excited to see what you guys have in store for the future!
Not sure if you've checked out the discord, but the brain fuel channel has endless d10 lists for things like "folk heroes of the galaxy", "famous space diners" etc. Might be some of what you're looking for!
I wish this was in hardback, even if it was a limited or collectors edition, a black cover with the simple title in either silver or white letters, (just put the core rules with all the supplements (ships, monsters, gear etc) in one book) The artwork on page 26-27 is outstanding, represents the game well, if you have the money to do so use his/hers art exclusively
I love the removal of initiative order! After I read and played Dungeon World for the first time, I've been really over initiative. Glad to see the more chaotic (and fun) approach being introduced to Mothership!
Alan has a natural presence for presenting, hosting and talking on camera. When ever I tune in its always very professional and warm like I have just changed the channel on tv to my favorite show. Thank you for all your hard works!
I agree that editing is key to success and an editor should be able to make the difference between a gold standard adventure and one that is cool but hard to play in practice.
This looks absolutely amazing! One question I have is how shore leave will function with campaigns on stations like A Pound Of Flesh? If you're always on the station, how would that work?
9:00 designer of Van Richtens guide for 5e did not know or ignored that rule for putting useful charts on the inside cover. If there was an RPG Razzie award they would win.
Looks like its going nicely, Focusing on the question of what happens when characters don't have a ship interested me for running games. I liked the loadouts of 0e it makes thing easy.
What about close range attacks with range weapons? Especially automatic or area effect weapons? Missing point blank with an SMG should be pretty hard. As with a flame thrower.
I would like a table of entanglements that are relationships to the world and NPCs. They just give you a small bonus and penalty. Watching Dune reminded me how future religions and cults should be an element of sci-fi as it hightens the sense of culture shock and scale of the unknown and unknowable. But not just that players can belong to a crime syndicate or be a corporate patsy. Mind you players get into these things anyway but it would be fun to give small bonuses to encourage players to try engaging with organizations. Not asking for a defined religion/coporation/crime list just a generic hook for "knowing a guy".
Looks cool, but I certainly hope the Contractors page undergoes some revision, as the layout shown in the video seems even more lackluster than in 0 edition. Like why are scientists trash at science? Make it make sense! I love minimalism, but not when it needlessly degrades functionality.
a few years ago I was admin of the lamentations of the flame princess discord. I had joined the Mothership discord and had spoken to the devs quite a bit, they seemed very nice. The girlfriend of Zak, a LotFP adventure writer, posted a huge allegation of physical, verbal, and sexual abuse against Zak. Immediately most of the OSR devs sided with the girlfriend and I said in the LotFP discord, not the mothership discord, “We need to hear both sides of the story before this turns into a witch hunt and Zak is wrongfully cancelled.” Well this exploded with negative reaction because most of the OSR devs follow the: BELIEVE ALL WOMEN! Mindset. I wasn’t saying she was lying I said we needed to be logical and get all the facts. The mods of the mothership discord went to other OSR discord I was in and tried to get me kicked out. I was banned from the mothership discord. To this day I have tried many times to talk with the seemingly friendly devs of Mothership and they wont let me. You either cancel what turned out to be an innocent man or you aren’t one of them. So, after Zak got proof that the girlfriend was lying nothing has changed. Zak is taking everyone to court that tried to cancel him. Most of those devs you’ve probably heard of. The dev of electric Bastionland, the dev of Gardens of Ynn, Mothership, and lots more. I don’t hate the mothership devs, but I’m a customer and was mistreated so every chance I get I warn people about these devs. I’d love to talk with the devs and put this behind us. I’d delete every post I made online, but I know they won’t talk to me. Maybe this new edition will sell enough copies to cover their legal fees when Zak takes them to court.
Respectfully disagree, I love Sean's art for the weapons. Much more interesting than your standard hyper-detailed gun drawings and lets the players fill in the details with their imagination.
It is the curse of our time. But I suppose the team involved felt they had to thread that needle in order to not get targeted by the "new puritans". As a Gen X'er the whole pronoun thing seem infantile - but I guess some people never grow up?
Why do women always have to be showing skin? In the standard crew attire picture the lady is waring a crop top...I don´t think that´d be very useful in space right?
The smile on Sean’s face as he stares up when Jarrett is talking. Best dad joke.

Looking forward to getting my box. I backed you after watching some live play from Third Floor Wars. Shout out to them.
Awesome video, really appreciate the editing here! Makes it way more engaging!
Thanks for using meters!!!

24:55 with such a well considered process of development, how did this art pass muster? Explain that to me. I am open to suggestions.
I love the removal of initiative order!

Can't wait. Thanks for all the amazing work, best wishes from Argentina!
Almost every single one of my players has used the "more info" box to draw a little portrait. Artists will make do!
That review video you did was utter genius, keep up the excellent work!
This is -such- a good video. I'm really happy to hear about your way of thinking going into game design.

Love hearing you guys talk shop about this gem of a game

so the smart rifle for 12K was not a typo, i always thought it was, that's x10 more expensive than any other weapon
Alan : I changed my panic table.
Us : Blasphemy! :D
I don't back Kickstarter a at all. Never did. But boy. This hits so close to the heart after v.0 that I will most likely get some.
This looks absolutely amazing!
One question I have is how shore leave will function with campaigns on stations like A Pound Of Flesh? If you're always on the station, how would that work?
I imagine it'd be time between "plot"? Like, the time you spend living on the station vs solving mysteries or dealing with mutants?

This is a Warden call, typically. Players should only have to roll if missing is likely.
@@tuesdayknightgames Good rule of thumb! Thanks.

Id like to see the weapon add-ons streamlines

Please hire an artist for the firearms.

Still going to buy this but the woke shit is annoying as Hell.
