- This is truly functional art! Step into a world of vintage allure and mechanical wonder with this unique, one-of-a-kind steampunk art journal. Crafted meticulously by hand, this journal is a true masterpiece, blending the charm of the Victorian era with the grit and innovation of industrial design. In this video flipthrough, I will give you a detailed look at each page of the journal with close-ups of my steampunk-inspired embellishments. I hope there is plenty inspiration here for your own junk journaling projects with a couple of tips and tricks for creating a cohesive steampunk theme.
I love all the Steampunk-inspired elements like brass gears, clock parts, and metallic embellishments and have integrated these throughout the journal.
This journal is unique, lovingly made and skillfully crafted. It’s a little different from my usual journals. I’ve listed it in my Etsy shop at BeAgainBooks and hope it will be there when just the right person finds it. Wow! What a unique journal. I love everything about it. The light bulb paper clip is great and that fabric flip note paper is gorgeous. I can't wait to learn more about this style. Hi Kathleen. Well, that was just so much fun. I didn't think that I'm drawn to Steampunk. I do like the gears and clocks and such. However, your journal is so interactive and interesting, how could I not like it. Plus, it's got blue hollyhocks--a color a love and a flower I love, too. The 12x12 page that is folded in what I'd call a catty-wompus way is delightful. I'm going to have to go back and make a template for that one. I think I've sort of done that fold, but in a more even, precise way. Yours is just so interesting looking and fun. The whole journal is fun, fun, fun. You were saying it didn't have a lot of writing space, but there are so many hidden spots and inserts, etc. it could hold a lot of journaling. And with the ring binding, you could add in more writing space/pages if you wanted to. Really a wonderful art piece. Thanks so much for showing it and for all the inspiration it contains. Oh, and your altered Rita Donnalley corner flip is genius. Talk about hidden writing space!

WOW! I love this journal. I would be a great coffee table book. The gear embossing folder is on my wish list, I love what you do with it. I love all of the extra gears through out the journal also. ☺♥

I said it previously on IG. “Exquisite.” Interestingly, I would say the steam punk journal I made for myself is more of an art journal also with less writing space. Maybe this theme just lends itself to that?
@@dawnklein106 awww Dawn - thank you! I appreciate your encouragement, always. It’s something to wonder about, for sure. Steampunk does kind of force your imagination AND your effort. I think I could include more space for writing, or just use a digital kit. I have made such journals in the past and will again, probably. But I do think there is something about Steampunk style that just makes you want to create, to just give way to your own creative spirit. I think it’s that impulse to make such a vigorous effort to create and the fact that it doesn’t come easy is what makes it really artistic. Just my thoughts - thanks so much for the comment.
