    Finding education like this on c4d is very difficult. I'm so glad I discovered this course before I almost gave up. Great quality! I moaned when I heard there were to be "audience questions" but that is handled tightly as well, and doesn't waste time--thank you all!!!

      Absolutely! I learned Max years ago and now use AE for what has now turned into a decent pipeline of work. The integration has happily forced the adjustment. There is quite a difference even though they produce similar content.

    Maxon is brave enough to update their UI! "hey look blender" ha ha ha! Dynamic effects, stretch parameters on the gizmo and scatter right there on the left is examples of the simplicity of C4D. Instant asset browser with tons of stuff is another great feature. If I am correct none of this is in Blender, off the shelf. The scene at 1:07:35 is how the hierarchy modifier control, bend gizmo and object segments slide bar all working together and is to me much more elegant then in Blender, manipulation within the stacks seems easier as well (Less clutter).

    Love these! Thank you so much, they are so useful and helpful. One tip I had was maybe adding the webcam over the screen record so it looks bigger on full screen. Easier to see what you guys are selecting on smaller screens. Having the camera take up that whole left side just shrinks the overall view of the software. Just a note.

    I have a question. when i first made the tapered cube - robot's head. I moved the position of the cube - slightly above the default position XYZ. As a result, when I did symmetry, the ear part wasn't;t mirrored to the opposite side of the head ;( how can i fix that ? The distance between two ear parts is wider than the width of the head, the symmetry ear isn't attached to the head.

    Hi there, I do like this tutorial - a couple of things - I'm a complete beginner and I'm finding it difficult to keep up a lot (it takes me a bit to remember the keys for instance and you've moved on by the time I find them). I'm watching on an iPad air on a stand next to iMac and the image size at max is rather small - is it possible to make these full screen without the instructors in a window down the side reducing the image size? They speak quickly and with the confidence of people who're experts, it's just a bit hard to keep up (and then using my fat fingers to scroll the play tab thingy back to get what was said. Don't get me wrong - I'm learning heaps - just those frustrations I thought I'd air. Cheers

    Spot on. I have a question as I'm trying to learn this after years of Maya.
    Is there a center-pivot option for a selected object or group? Let's say, you change an object's pivot point via local coordinates or combine several objects, is there an easy way to simply reset the pivot to the center of the object's or selection of object's bounds? Or is ungrouping/regrouping the way to do it? Seems like a pain in the butt for a complex hierarchy of objects to do it through the outliner ungrouping and regrouping.
    In Maya, it's just a right click menu away. I use it all the time and can't seem to find an analogue. Reset transformations while parented is a slick way to move geometry and combine pivots without thinking. Slicker than in Maya but different. Reset transformations in Maya simply sets the selected geometry to 0,0,0 local coordinates which is very handy but doesn't TRS it to the parent. Is there also something I'm missing when trying to zero out local coordinates (TRS) relative to world coordinates? E.g. rotated and scaled an object but now want to set this new state to TRS 0,0,0 for Translate, Rotate, Scale.

    Re: zoom fn
    At inute 45:00 you refer to zoom as changing focal length - which is true, however, the interface appears to combine focal length delta with camera distance. This is unlike the real-world use of zoom in which the camera is locked down. Changing focal length DOES NOT change perspective without moving the camera. Does this observation resonate with you?

  • @MrJBA79
    @MrJBA79 2 роки тому

    In previous versions of C4D, I have (on the rarest occasions) found myself in a situation where object scaling or object moving fails to adhere to the axis arrow that I have selected and I find that at in these moments, the objects can only be manipulated freely (on all 3 axis') and it becomes impossible to select an individual access for the manipulation.
    Through untold frustration and trial-and-error, I discovered that the solution in this situation was always to minimize to my Windows desktop, I then use the numerical keyboard to cycle from 1 through 10. When I returned to C4D the axis specific object manipulators worked as normal.
    I don't know what caused it or what solved it, I can only tell you what I have observed over the years.

    nice tutorial but how about letting the woman speak her sentence to an end for once ?
    ngl, this makes me furious to watch, solely based on the fact, that Elly gets to say almost nothing, even though she obviously knows just as much as Matt does
    only letting her read out lout the questions in chat AND NOT EVEN letting her finish her sentences feels very anti-fem to me (even if it might be subconscious of Matt)
