The cat is a reference to 007 movies where Blofeld appears stroking the same breed of white cat. The cat in The Godfather was just because the cat was on set and Marlon Brando just decided to hold the cat during the introduction scene on a whim.
The therapist is no other than Princess Leia!

He was the director or one of them
Susanna Hoff’s husband is the director.
And Matthew Sweet on bass. Hoffs and Sweet made some albums of cover songs together that are pretty good.

There were a lot of clips included that I never saw before. Must be the editing.
A detail I love, Austin acts like a joke most of the time, but whenever Dr. Evil is mentioned he's suddenly alert and ready
One of the funniest parts is when Austin and vanessa follow the two workers into the bathrooms that are complete opposite body types and they come out after with perfectly fitting cloths haha.

The therapist is played by Carrie Fisher. Carrie fisher us most famous for playing Princess leia in star wara
She also had a small role in The Blues Brothers, as did Charles Napier who plays Commander Gilmour in this movie.
My favorite scene is when Austin is trying to turn the cart around. Checkout Bedazzled with Brendon Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley (Vanessa).
The original Bedazzled with Peter Cook & Dudley Moore is better
The Dr. Evil character-- VISUALLY is a spoof on the James Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, specifically the role as portrayed by British actor Donald Pleasance in You Only Live Twice. Dr. Evil's voice and speaking style stem from comedians Dana Carvey and Mike Myers impersonation of Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels.
The beginning of the movie where the girls are chasing Austin Powers and he hides in the phone booth with a fake beard is a nod to the beginning of the Beatles movie A Hard Days Night.
Interesting thing about Austin Powers as a character is that while he might from England, Mike Myers is Canadian but his parents came from Liverpool so I imagine he had a leg up when it came to locking down the English accent.

Austin Powers is such a great spy comedy. All 3 are pretty funny. I really like Mike Myer's comedic delivery, especially when he shouts at people as Dr Evil 🤣🤣🤣

Dr. Evil's voice and "pinky thing" is basically Dana Carvey's impersonation of Lorne Michaels. Mike kind of hijacked the impersonation for the character, and I think there was a beef between them for a long time about that.
Lots of celebrity cameos filling speaking extra roles to keep it light and interesting.....plus the blatant references to james bond movie characters. Lots of laughs.
Great movie. . The group therapy scene is one of the funniest scenes I have seen in any movie. You should also see Mike Mayer's in his Wayne's World movies
My favorite moment in the movie is the "Stoooooooop!" scene. Scene makes me laugh hard everytime.
That scene was basically stolen to be used in Deadpool but hey, if you're going to steal something, steal from the best!

This is a great movie. Austin Powers Is the Perfect movie if you need a good laugh. It makes you feel good inside. Mike Myers was iconic in the role. Expect to laugh until your side aches!
This is one of the best, most creative, feel-good movies of all time. You should watch them all now. 🙂 Also a lot of his expressions are similar to Jim Carrey's, I agree.

This spoof movie of James Bond is a lot funnier to people who grew up watching old school James Bond movies like Gold Finger and you only live twice. These jokes will make a lot more sense. And you will know who Allota Vagina, Random Task, and Dr Evil are.

Austin Power is a total spoof on 1960,'s James Bond movies with Sean Connery. Dr. EVIL is a funny spoof of Blofeld. which was the head of Spectre - the criminal evil group and James Bond's nemesis. I love Mike Myers and you need to see the Wayne World movies too. Love from USA.

The cat was a character reference from the early James Bond films (as is this whole franchise), not The Godfather, but used in that same way. You should dive into the Bond films soon (in order).

The psychedelic band with bikini dancer transitions are throwbacks to TV shows like LAUGH-IN, and LANCELOT LINK; SECRET CHIMP. Emma looks rather lost to any reference to the latter half of the twentieth century.

Your copy of the movie has a few extra scenes than was theatrically released in the US. I first noticed them when they got to Virtuacon. They ran into a guard played by Christian Slater. It looked like there was some hypnosis going on there, it's hard to tell in the UA-cam edit. And then after the Steam Roller, the call to the henchman's family was also an extra scene. Also the bar scene about the henchman.
