when we search clothes they recommend the worst of worst , like always there are always some local 300,400 rs item shown and we have to scroll nearly 20 of them . Also we have to apply filter otherwise they dont show ucb , levis, puma, etc .
We can't say like amazon lost to Nykaa. Amazon is too big to focus on just beauty product segment. They are more into conquering entire e commerce world, not just focusing on a product segment. It's like comparing a huge shopping mall to a specific factory outlet. You can goto shopping mall and get anything you want..some will be good , some will be fake. In factory outlet you won't get everything. But what you get will be fresh and original.
Who says Amazon doesn't have inventory model? They do it through JV partners and sellers like Cloudtail. And do you have any proof that Nykaa's revenue is more than Amazon's beauty category revenue?
Agree with you. Duplicacy should not be the main reason. One more reason could be is that Nyka's website is much more curated to search for beauty products, Amazon is generic. Anyways, Amazon can just crush Nykaa (or buy them :) ) by giving deep discounts if they want to.

Shopkeeper lobby was facing stiff competition due to lower price by amazon and flipkart as they were ok losing money to acquire customers, this when our govt (to please vote bank) stepped in and brought the marketplace policy to help such shopkeepers sell online and remove inventory competition. This is when Amazon and flipkart had to change the entire business model. Secondly,on paper cloudtail was owned by infy. Aur koi bhi dhandha karlo most investors runaway from inventory business, as to sell inventory you will need to open physical stores which is an overheard. What Pranjal is missing here that Nykaa also has offline presence. Short video format can mislead anyone.

Amazon nakali saman ki 100% gaurntee leta hai. The main Factor is Govt. Policy amazon can also do inventory model but as an MNC there is certain policy that doesn't allow amazon to do inventory model soo nykaa took advantage of govt. policy nothing else.

I always used to prefer Amazon over nykaa because of the delivery speed. But now have shifted to Nykaa for this very reason. Amazon does have some sellers who sell duplicate products.
So basically for the authenticity. I'll have to think twice and recheck whether I'm buying original products from Amazon when it's comes to makeup and skin care but Nayka is more thrust worthy in this area
I eventually switched to nykaa for perfumes and other cosmetics. I once called customer care of Amazon as the seller sent duplicate product moreover they don't have return or replacement. The executive told me " Sir , we can't do anything" As against on Nykaa all products are genuine and return is also available at the same or similar price. Nykaa is not only for women but also sells many Male brands. The perfume black market on Amazon is so wide that it's essentially a fake market with copies of perfume that only last an hour or two with cheap price.

Nykaa also sends duplicate product , so basically it is your luck what product you are getting. One can buy directly from the official website of the product but the return policy is very hectic if the product comes damaged. We can trust amazon for cheaper products , because there is less possibility of fake products there. Also brands like minimalist, mama earth , the newer brands , there is no duplicate market for them , but the bigger and older brands like neutrogena, loreal , lakme , there is a chance of getting fake product. Makeup is expensive and also amazon doesn’t even cater that much makeup. Duplicate or real.

It is true because of e commerce laws. Amazon is not supposed to own any store or vendor. It's role is confined to be aggregator although it sell electronic goods through seller Appario where he now hold minority stake because of changes in law.
