Nick Bowcott from Marshall presents the 2555X Silver Jubilee commemorative tube amplifier head. After the video, click the link above for all the details on the Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee.
Jim Marshalls signature tattooed on his arm, a kick ass player, a cool accent, AND a lefty? This dude rocks.
Grim Reaper, Rock you to Hell is his finest work.
2:24 Jim Marshall's signature tattooed on his arm. That's dedication. LOL
+brntgrbl Should be more dedicated to delivering a better Marshall sound.
+Ameer Saban yea I agree. Marshall is such a classic sound. How do you mess that up so bad?
Sounds like a Marshall to me with that snarl; love it! Then again, keeping in mind it's being recorded at a lower volume, Marshalls don't sound the same unless they're getting pushed!
... Nick Bowcott... used to see him demoing at the Marshall booth back in the day (I attended NAMMs from '89 up to the mid-'90s)... damn I'm old....
maybe he should turn up the frequency that makes up guitar! (MIDS)
It's clean this amplifier.I love that.
I love how Nick shows up with a Union Jack guitar at Sweetwater : ) LOL
i didn't hear the meaness in this amp? Where is it?
Love this amp, but is it because of the active pickups used in the demo that it sounds like a tin can full of bees being hit by a weed whacker? This is a ballsy amp, and can be super creamy, but it comes across as shrill and buzz saw like here. Love your company and demos, and am not one to negatively comment, but just had to say something...
Chrismayo1981 Well from the close ups the guy demoing it likes to scoop his mids and crank the treble. So that combined with the actives are probably it.
Agreed, I'm just surprised they chose this tone to showcase the amp I guess.
Brandon Adams Nick Bowcott was the guitar player for the popular 80's English metal group Grim Reaper. check out their vids. they rock!
Will do.
I have yet to see a clip of this amp being ballsy. Can you direct me to one? This is pretty much how it sounds in all demos
Amazing how the player makes all the difference..
What is the name of that Motley Crue like guitar riff at the beginning of the video? I love it man!
I used one of these amps back in the 80's. Bought it brand new and used it in clubs for years. BUT, I have to say, I never was a big fan of the tone of these things. I never saw/heard the big deal. I found them muddy and lacking 'attack'. But, yo each their own. I ended up selling mine in '96 with no regrets. I've used original JCM800's ever since, happily.
@David Van Budgie I've got my original 1987 Jubilee 100 watt stack. It sounds way better than this example! This sounds like a horrible fizzy distortion box.
Gain on 11, middle on 0. Not the best choice for this amp.
Probably the worst way you could run this amp. These amps have very sensitive EQ sections. Small changes make a big difference. Running the mids on complete zero and running the gain that high make it sound thin and lifeless.
All black. Cool. But does it go to 11?
Hi there! Is it good amp to achieve Hendrix sounds and something of Led Zeppelin, Or it’s a heavy rock oriented Marshall head?
This guy learned how to dial a clean tone from Fluff.
Reminds me of the ADF 100
This is Marshall at its finest
Did you mean the AFD 100? If so, that amp was mostly based on this one. Slash is known for using these amps.
i would buy that shirt. how much?
Had one of these on pre order but canceled it because I don't like the way marshall is charging us more in the u.s for there amps ! So I bought a engl fireball. There's no reason they should cost so much more in the u.s vs other country's!
probably sounds better in person..
That sounds like crap. But I know it's an awesome amp. So why not adjust it to live up to its potential?
classic rock amps are not played heavy distortion
None of the demos do this amp justice.
He's got the Bass all the way up! No wonder it doesn't sound as good as it should. Less bass, more presence and treble, back off on the gain and you've got a great sounding Marshall.
just play hard man
2:49 smh
+JustToBe Blunt Should have boosted the presence instead of the treble... and added more mids, less bass. One-dimensional metal player it seems.
... BTW Bonamassa sucks and because the Jubilee wasn't released until 1987 well AFTER Appetite was being recorded Saul recorded it with a Tim Caswell modded Marshall Tremolo plexi-front which was rented from Studio Instrument Rentals aka SIR in Hollywood ... the amp itself was labeled #39 and it was used by many mid-late '80 guitarists not just Saul so you've likely heard the same "Slash"-voiced Marshall amp in multitudes of recordings in that era you just weren't aware of it...
Slash barely played on AFD. Mostly pinch hitters brought in by Alan Niven because Slash could barely play at the time. Standard non disclosure agreements signed by studio musicians are for 30 years, so next year we will likely find out who really played.
cookie zztest slash barely can what?? shut your mouth and take it home kid lol..
cookie zztest David Lee Roth played all of Splashes guitar parts
@@cookiezztest7702😮no sabía que probablemente otros músicos de sesión podían grabar unas canciones y que no colocarán su nombre y pusieran el nombre del supuesto artista😢
this guitar sounds awful
This amp usually sounds great but this demo was awful.
Eww, that was not a good demo... The guy can play amazing on pretty much anything Mesa, but not this amp.
Marshall should ban bald or balding left-handed guys from demoing their amps.
Terrible tone
