Thank you for your videos as I had no idea how to grow them. Be patient people it takes time for them to germinate! Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙂
In eastern Maryland I scarified the seeds in an old sock with some gravel, rubbing and grinding them a bit. Took only 3 weeks for the first few to send tap roots, idk if they’ll survive indoors here but I’ll try **UPDATE** I have tons of germinating cherimoyas now, with the oldest ones already having 3 leaves and being ~ 8" tall. The leaves are equally yellow and green... not sure what to make of that, but they are not in direct sun, they get a little sun every day through my window. which is screened. The young plants demand more humidity than my house has normally. They stopped growing and started wilting a little until i moved them to my bathroom, which is much more humid, and they perked right back up and started growing again. I water maybe once a week just to keep the soil from going dry. in my bathroom the soil seems to stay fairly damp, and only need a little trickle now and then. I have more sprouting seeds now than I know what to do with.
Thanks so much for the update! I just tasted the fruit today and fell in love with the fruit. Can’t wait to see if I can grow them. Thank you fort the info :D
My pleasure. Yes the fruit is up there with the best. These little seedling are growing happily. They did take awhile to germinate though so be patient. Good luck and thankyou :)
Thank you very much for such clear and detailed instructions. I'm going to try this here in the USA and hopefully I can dwarf some trees and overwinter them in a greenhouse.
G’day from Chile, great video! Pleased to report got 8 out of 10 to germinate. Just potted them into individual pots and we’ll see how they go. ( we call them chirimoya in Latin America)
Can you do a part three and let us see how it growing. And the food to give it and where you live is it really hot there or is it cold do you get a hard winter like I get I live in New York so we get nice weather but we also get cold?
Thank you for showing such a thorough video of the process of how these sprout. I’m going to give it a go but doubt I will have success as all thirty of my seeds are floating 😒
nice doing this 2 got about 5 seedlings in 1 tiny clear cup, man osmocote seedraising mix sucks ass for everything i cant wait to have my own compost ready
Would you recommend pruning these trees when they drop leaves around April? Also by how much ? Back to 3 buds or back by a third? Also I do not really know how to tell if a branch is a “sucker” or not. Is there an easy way to tell? Thank you 😄
Hi...i placed my seeds in a wet paper towel in the fridge for a mtg.. for some reason I thought they needed to be cold stratified but now I guess not.. I took them out of fridge..do you think they will germinate still? Thanks so much
Hi...i was away on vacation and collected some cherimoya seeds..but I dried them fully to store and bring back with me..thus was 2 mths ago..now I'm trying to germinate them..i soaked them in water and planted them about 3 weeks ago..but no sign of any germination..will I still have luck Or was i not supposed to dry them out?thanks
Nice one mate ..... music is also much less jarring ;) My little ones are just dropping their seeds now ..... got two pop up out of about 8 ......... thought the others were a no go but after watching this i think ill wait a bit longer and see if they eventually do.
yeh they def come up when they want. Its been about 3 months since i planted the seed, so they take a while. See if any more come up, but the main thing is you got some. Cheers mate
Hi there i have 5 chirimoya plants about 4 or 5 months since they sprouted they all except one seem to have a leaf or more that get this browning and drying on it i would like to know if you have any advice ill upload a video to show you exactly what im talking about thanks
If its cold where you are ATM they will start dropping their leaves, the plants start looking very ordinary. If you scratch a small piece of bark you will see green underneath. If not, ill say its wet roots. That single plant is displaying different characteristics to the others, they are always the best ones. The beauty of growing from seed. cheers :)
eatyourgarden australia thanks for responding i guess i am over watering them cause im in south tx zone9b rarely gets to cold and if it does its only for a day or two although we did get some snow this past winter for the first time in 14 years its varies from 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit eight now
Take one out of the pot, carefully. Tip it upside down. Have a look at the soil. Wet, dry, ants, etc. That will give you a very good idea of whats wrong. Sometime when potting soil goes dry its very hard to get it moist again. Let me know ok. :)
eatyourgarden australia so i transplanted two of the smaller ones into a bigger pot and i turned it upside down some of the roots looked dry the soil looked a bit dry as well but i planted them in better darker soil this time
Good evening,I use a translator, but I hope the translation will be correct.I saw this video when I planted the cherry. While seeal the Soursop.Guanabana has already started to rise for the third week, and cheremoya yet. It's been over a month.Just didn't wipe the seeds like that.Although cherimoya and Soursop the same seed. Can the cherimoya from more than a month to sprout?

My cherimoya is now one year old, from Sri Lanka. 20 cm high. Leaves are getting bigger and bigger. 4 leaves had grown yellow, I picked off. Any proposals? Thank you !

Thank you for this video , does this germination give an identical tree as the mother tree as a fruit ?
wont be identical, but they will fruit and it will taste great. it will be your variety

is there a possibility of having an identical tree compared to the mother or not ? Have a nice day men

They will drop leaves as it gets cold. Bottom yellow leaves and light green leaves indicates lack of nitrogen
How frequently were you watering these seeds while they were in the container for ~4 months or so?
i water them, cover them with pastic to retain humidity, and usually dont have to water untill they shoot. Helps to check though

👍👍👍
Is it ok to let the seeds dry. Then plant later?
