Princess Frida, Hi, I'm another Brazilian who grew up in love with you (in a good way) my soul sends a kiss on your cheek for all those years of beauty and good music that you gave me, life long health and peace!
The journalists found the Blonde an easier target, but Frida no doubt was just as greatly admired -and had the lead vocal on more hit singles -and Fridas albums after ABBA sold better than Aggies.
No, Agnetha and Anni-Frid will never be forgotten; but a lot of nonesense is being written about them. Reducing Frida as being of lesser importance than Agnetha vocally is absurd. Together they made magic, and solo both brilliant!
She opens the song! XD It's really beautiful how she tries to do an operatic pop voice. All the first verse is her alone... then Filippa's voice enters. :)
EXCELLENT SONG!!! I'm a huge ABBA Fan. Because of this song, I entered to the magical world of Opera. This duet es very bautiful :) La Barcarolle "Bell nuit, a nuit d'amour" From the Opera "The tales of Hoffman" By Offenbach
@jazzbobrown well said jazz. people tend to forget that NO FRIDA NO ABBA NO AGNETHA NO ABBA both girls existence to the group is of equivalent, and as Bjorn once introduced Frida on stage "Mamma Mia play" Benny was there too he introduced Frida saying "without this lady none of this would've happened" and i will leave it at this level.. :)
Gracias a la italo-mexicana Filippa Giordano, verte y escucharte en el Auditorio Nacional (D.F.), fue una experiencia inolvidable. Saludos de César Jácome México, D.F.
Who is responding to my opinion of La Barcarole? I cherish this recording because it is so beautifully performed and obviously with an understanding of how fragile love is! How can anyone/-body reject to that? Beauty is SO much missing in today´s world. Love to all
How often did the Agnetha obsessed insist Frida couldn't sing as well as Agnetha? (Nevermind that she studied voice wth a professional opera singer.) Facts never mattered to them.
Agnetha did not remain a star after ABBA; Frida sold more albums than her and also managed to show up on the US charts (with 'Something's Going On') - Aggie disappointed the music press in the early 80's. The ABBA singles Frida sang lead on actually were larger hits than the ones with Aggie (believe it or not). Still want to fight? :)
I want to fight (but don't have the energy) anyone who says _either_ was better - or who feels the _need_ to. They _both_ made ABBA (it'd be BBA or ABB without one!); they both have qualities. They were both very sexy (and are still very attractive). They both seem nice people, too (BB as well).
Well, we shouldn't make Frida (Anni-Frid) older like in the one comment before. Today (Sept. 28, 2009) she is still 63 (not 65), turns 64 on November 15, 2009) ;-)) She was born 1945.
@devotedtoopera that's just ridiculous. the good thing about music is that it's available for anyone to do, you can think what you want about the result, but you have no right to make yourself music police.
With regard to musicality excellence, ABBA consisted of four geniuses, two in the vocal arena and two in the area of playing instruments, but hearing Frida here is beyond anything I was ever aware of her being able to do. Because Frida's formal name started with the letter 'A', the name ABBA came from the first initial of all 4 members. Personally, I always felt that the 'F' replaced by 'A' for Frida should have remained, with the group being called FABB , which is a far better descriptive word for a name than ABBA. Then, the first album could have been called FABB-ULOUS !
The chaps were more than just players - they could sing quite well too, but mainly, it was they who composed most of the music, which is extremely complex (and mostly excellent and memorable).
Watch it freddiefinkle or the malicious one will go for your jugular!?Angel and i have both suffered in the past.I think your comment on medication is pretty accurate 'cos you don't hear from 'it' for a while and i've found if you are nice in reply it just goes away!!
How old are you? "stop trying to validate your critizism of Frida by saying you admire her cause you're only fooling yourself" (??) . I am norwegian, and liked Frida even before she teamed up with the other three (first album in 1971!). I think she was the better vocalist of the two A's.Frida normally records impeccable vocals, and she does a cute job on this one, but listen to the arrangement. Then listen to 'Barcarolle' by Montserrat Caballe. Even princesses lose their shoes once.
Lovely song. Do not be concerned about the snidey comments below from more than one name. Because it turns out that Iamabba, Malibuses, Agnethafrid are the one and same idiot troll. Wouldn't surprise if Potjeroer is the same saddo too. Same views and same posting style. Agnethafrid's posts on various videos have recently disappeared, no doubt due being reported to UA-cam for trolling. Save yourself more aggravation by doing likewise to the others.
....although being an ABBA fan, this is a schmaltzy version of a beautiful piece of music. Nice voices, but a rude attack to a heavenly song. As when 'Idol' competitors are having a go at 'The Winner Takes It All'. The arrangement is syntethic and boring. Love you, Frida, but ehem, this was just a demo, and a japanese release, thank God.
@@louisedemarillac777 I like other versions better - each to his own; others here like versions by the serious opera performers, I like the ones by Nana (she does English and German versions). This is quite nice though. It's a nice piece of music, and the duet harmonies are lovely, if done by anyone competent, and Frida (and Filippa, who I'd not heard of before) are certainly more than that.
Not really. Not here at least. She is quite out of breath and having trouble supporting her voice. I am surprised that this was released at all. It is not up to Frida's usual amazing standard. Cheers.
Frida never stops amazing me. I love her.
This was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
C'est magnifique.
Sublimes voix.
Merci Frida.
Фрида, любимая, с божественным
голосом, ОБОЖАЮ тебя!!!💋Алекс💖💓
Wow Frida hat aber auch so viele Gesangliche und außergewöhnliche Facetten, wundervoll.❤️
I don't understand the Frida vs Agnetha thing either. The come alive together. Their vocal harmonies were terrific!!
Princess Frida,

Wonderfull! 2 beautifull voices celebrate the moment.
Beautiful voices..lovely duet:)
The journalists found the Blonde an easier target, but Frida no doubt was just as greatly admired -and had the lead vocal on more hit singles -and Fridas albums after ABBA sold better than Aggies.
There is nothing as beautiful as Fridas voice. If only she recorded this alone.
No, it needs the close harmony.
beautiful song , beautiful duet 2 divas singing together thanks for sharing. :)

LOVELY SONG
She opens the song!

It is so sad that some people cannot enjoy this wonderful duet! If you do not like classical music , refrain from comments please!

La Barcarolle

Thanks! We sadly don't hear too much of Frida in the UK these days.
Frida ha solennità di una regina.
I made a mistake & pressed the wrong button. I LOVE this version of La Bacarolle. 2 beautiful voices.
Sin duda frida es suprema
Quel beau duo!! Superbe 👍👍👍👍🎶🎶🎶🎶🤗🤗
Looking at these stunning it's a shame Frida didn't do more solo records, she has the

It was recorded with Frida in May 2002

Hes name is Heinz Julen, he is a friend of Frida
frida the best.

What a beautiful sound. I enjoyed it as much as I did Marilyn Horne & Joan Sutherland many years ago.

demasaido lindo para ser verdadero gracias twodragons desde argentina
Maravilhosa!
Interesting duett! Thanks for posting it! :-)
Agnetha and Frida aren´t ENEMYS.
They are Friends.
Together they have Dance lessons.
I am sorry, but Frida's voice is way better than Filippa's....
When Velvet meets Silk. Their voices are exquisite together. How am I just now finding this?
This song is on the album "Il rosso amore" by Filippa, but it's only on the "Deluxe"-editon

The video says (at 0:03) 2001, the notes say 2002 - which is correct?
C'est merveilleux on se croit au 7è ciel
I didn't know the expression "seventh heaven" existed in French! I assumed it was English only, because of the sound of the words.

@devotedtoopera
that's just ridiculous. the good thing about music is that it's available for anyone to do, you can think what you want about the result, but you have no right to make yourself music police.
filippa giordano its the best
Fridas voice is too good for Abba

@devotedtoopera perhaps, but since jessye norman, I have not been as touched.

Frida is still hot! not bad eh?
What goes around comes around Angel!?Fancy not being able to recognise the person you SO despise!LOL!

The recording is from 2002, so pictures from 2008-ish are not far out.
