2005 Cobalt SS exhaust/supercharger sound on highway

- My daily driver Cobalt, with my buddy tromping on it some so I can hear how it sounds. I know its my car but I piss myself laughing at how funny this thing sounds, its a pissy wasp LOL! It might sound better with a cat-back but I have no interest of putting one on it. The peace inside is pleasant.

I only had it about a year and a half. It was nice looking and fun. But it was very low, road like dog shit very rough, and wasn't very car seat friendly. I sold it and bought a lifted 04 Silverado and have been much happier with it. Horrible mpg but spacious, sounds awesome, looks awesome, and rides great with excellent clearance.
@@DarrenWS6 well of course it’s not it’s a 2 door coupe that’s what I like about the Ion Redlines the 2 rear Suicide doors and that’s why it’s best to have a 2 vehicles
Sounds like u needed some shocks and struts just replaced mine on my cobalt and can’t feel a bump in the road .

It is. People have put these supercharger setups on base 2.2Ls. They bolt up and can be tuned. They even have put some on the 2.2L excited cavalier.
I was told that my block is the same as the SS. when the dealer runs the vin it comes up as a SS but its NOT its just the sport. i think it was custom order from the dealer. i see SS all the time and mine looks just like it with no big ass wing and i diffent frot bumper(lower lip) when I pop the hood its just all PLASTIC lol and says ecotec.. it even has stock SS rims on it
The non supercharged SS/Sport had the SS bumper without lip, the SS 18" wheels, and a slightly better suspension, FE3 I think the code was? Not sure. From what I remember the 2005 SS were all 5spd and Supercharged. 2006 was first year of the non Supercharged SS model which was why they started to specify 'SS Supercharged' from 'SS'. 2007 was all carry over just a minor dash and steering wheel change, 2008 the first year of Turbocharging they went to calling the non turbo inducted model the 'Sport' rather than SS. I'm pretty sure thats how it went.

Yeah the stiffer handling suspension helps it handle great but suffers the street some. As do those 18"s with a 40 sidewall haha. I miss my car though it was fun. I did enjoy the sound and pull it had. You should be able to get a used supercharger setup for a grand or less!
We had a supercharged cobalt ss in our apt complex before and yeah Let’s just say it was probably stolen

Is it stock?
Pretty much but I guess you could say it had some work. It had an Injen intake, zzp longtube header catless, stock catback, b&m shifter, some stage 2 clutch, eibach sportline lowering springs. All I did to it was tint it, LED headlight kit, and a ZZP muffler.

The Cobalt SS has to be one of the slowest SUPERCHARGED cars I’ve ever driven...
The turbo ones were a little faster... but, I love superchargers and usually have a love for factory supercharged vehicles... but the Cobalt...🤦🏻♂️
It was an alright car for daily use. I miss it a bit. O just sont miss the brick ride it had or very heavy clutch.
They are fun as fuck tho on the road if u wanna go out and not kill your self but have loads of fun
