Facts…the reason LA rap( So Callled Chicano Rap) doesn’t get numbers outside Cali, AZ and certain markets in Texas is cuz it’s a niche market…There are Hella Mexicans/Latinos East of LA that ain’t in that Cholo culture but rep Mexican culture different…The Record Industry need to look past LA and realized there are Dope Latino Rappers outside Cali without the Politics…Word to Fat Joe, Big Pun, Cypress Hill
Big Pun was once asked in an interview what he thought about him being an upcoming Latino rapper and he said he don’t consider himself a Latino rapper, he said I’m just a rapper.
People need to take this “Chicano Rapper” phrase and use it to win awards in Grammys and go to the big leagues. Since a lot of people want label us like that since it’s already up in the air and people make it sound it’s such a shame. Use the big name and lock it.
