Hi Chris, I am a big fan of you and really appreciate your very informative youtube channel. I have a question, what is the real cause of high ceramide ( that leads to diabetes)? Is it choline deficiency?

Skip the elliptical and go with an assault bike. You can get a Rogue assault bike for around $600.

It sounds to me like your diet is a Targeted Ketogenic Diet (TKD), especially when in a very hypocaloric state.

It's really just a carb cycling diet... the concept is used so your metabolism doesn't stall from the hypo-caloric days. The idea is that you can burn up muscle glycogen doing low carb (below maintenance calories) and over compensate with a large high carb day and your body will hold onto more glycogen bc it doesn't know when it will get carbs again. You need sodium and potassium for the osmotic effect. (Tip: alpha lipoic acid will let you hold even more glycogen) I kind of feel Chris is a bit off in that he would be better dropping weight slower so he doesn't lose the muscle. (It's not about health but preserving muscle mass imo) In theory you signal to your body to hold your muscle by stimulus from working out. The reality is without insulin some muscle mass might be lost. When blood glucose levels drop the body taps more fat as fuel but also relies on protein as fuel. Some aminos from foods can be used directly by the muscles as fuel while others are sent off to the liver and through gluconeogenesis are converted into glucose. The problem is your muscles are made of aminos and sometimes your body will tear down its own muscle to obtain aminos to be sent to the liver and turned into glucose to fuel the workout. Then when you lose muscle... your metabolism slows and you end up with a lower BMR and having to eat less calories to not gain weight in the Future. Is a judgment call. Muscle is not easy to build... I think it's better to diet slower.

You should actually look like you workout if you want to make an "expert" video about it.

why considering almost every so called doctor is considered a health expert by society yet I would estimate 75%+ of them are in terrible condition and despite that almost no one ever calls them out for that either.
