    What a good feeling in seeing the views of the part of Stockholm, then its suburbs, outskirts, countrysides, beautiful part of the forest with some snow scattering around, one or two small towns,or small villages from the perspective of the fast moving train. Thanks for making, uploading and sharing it and the others with us. You are doing such a great job ny friends. Hello from Auckland New Zealand and Brisbane Australia.

    Green light (flashing) for remote traffic warning (red light): probably the only main network in Europe, if not even in the world, where the green light still has the meaning of slowdown, danger and so on. Here in Italy there are a handful of tramways and secondary railways left where the color or green light is still used to signal a slowdown, a main signal closed and so on. The last major Italian network where green had retained its primitive meaning was the magnificent one of the legendary Calabro Lucane Railways

      @@alanwyatt4538 It depends on how you define stations in Oslo. which section of the line, which line etc., if you strictly define as stations called Oslo, there is only one Oslo Sentralstasjon (Oslo S), it is not a termination point since 13 of the 19 tracks merge into the Oslotunnelen (central tunnel) that goes westwards to the underground situated Nationaltheatret stasjon (National Theater Station) a station which cohabitates with the metro station under the same name, the tunnel exits to above ground at Skøyen Station which again has westward throughput towards Drammen.

    • @davebowman6497
      @davebowman6497 16 днів тому

      In general: Why should there be light in tunnels? So that the passengers can look through the window on a still dark rocky wall fly by att 150 or more km/h. If lights where needed we would slso need "streetlights" along all tracks, all the way.
      The locomotive has front headlights. They work just as well in the darkness of a tunnel as they do in the open at night.
      As a side note to that, which you might find uncomfortable: The headlight is primarily there for the train to be seen, and only secondary for the driver to see. Most trains at full speed will have a stopping distance of 500 to 1000 meters. Or more.. A strong headlight might reach 500 meters.
      Consider this: A long Swedish freight train can be up to 700 meters and wheigh over 2000 tonnes (yes, 2 million kilograms). From the time the driver pulls the break handle until the brakes operate at their max capacity, up to 110 000 7 seconds can pass. If such a goods train travels with the (moderate) speed if 72 km/h that is equivalent to 20 m/s. Add one two seconds for the driver to react and start operating the break lever. Nine (9) seconds will pass before the brakes are operating at full capacity. That's 180 meters. After that it takes many hundred meters before this heavy train comes to a stop. Guesstimate: a kilometres or so. Add 25 to 30% to that if the train travels at 100 km/h.
      Or consider this: I've been on a fast passenger train - probably 180 - 200 km/h at the time it collided with a moose and went into full emergency braking. I have good landmarks for both the spot where we hit the moose and where we came to a stop and eventually were evacuated onto another train. I located the spots on a map and measured the distance and I get it to approximately 500 meters.
