100% AC/DC. There wasn’t a band like them before and there won’t be one after them. They’re already not what they were back then. Too difficult. Absolutely electric concert. Prime AC/DC. This was televised live on Japanese TV imagine if this had been properly recorded and mixed, WOW. I believe this is the only full recorded concert of the BIB tour that the band released. They went to straight to Australia after this and played Melbourne on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23 rd of Feb 1981. I was at both those concerts and l can tell you that AC/DC blew the roof off with 2 incredible performances. The crowd rioted and took over the city and its public transport both nights, 50,000 in the Myer music bowl and 100,000 outside the feeble fences which were soon smashed. The media were kissing their youknowwhats but AC/DC remembered that the Australian media deserted them and dragged them down and wouldent even report on their fantastic success overseas with Bon. Remember the JUKE magazine cover story of how AC/DC were electrifying America? They were the only mag reporting on their huge success. These were great days with the Angels supporting them and almost bringing the house down but nothing could stop the mighty AC/DC. Vale to the greatest Rock band ever.
Gave me chills reading this. It took me back to Festival Hall, Melbourne, 1989 when Metallica played their fist ever tour of Australia. That was my first concert at the age of 14. I'll never forget the unity felt among the fellow Aussie fans/metal heads. We all were so honoured to have Metallica finally reach our shores. It was a very wild night. The things you could get away with back then! Not to mention no 'smart' phones. We all just lived in the moment back then. I was well taken care of by older fans who treated me like their little brother, especially in the mosh pit up front. I was also fortunate enough to see AC/DC on their Razor's Edge tour in 1991 which nothing till this day can top. Amazing times !!
Me too. I saw them in NYC, Landover and Buffalo, in 1980. Unforgettable shows. My Mom was also always worried, when I went to shows. I ran with a pack of animals, LOL.
80-82, they were completely unstoppable. Best concerts ever. On a different level than shows with Bon. Nothing will beat the Bon years but Brian fn rules, just as hard.
God bless our Rock n Roll Legends. Saw them about 40 times since 1980. Worked for them about 6 times. Met them about 3 times. Always with you. God bless Bon and Malcom.
@@themedialies6613 Bon believed in god. In his band before acdc, called Fraternity, he sang a song called "you have a god". The lyrics to that song is something like "The sun sings his song and the wind speaks his name, inventor of creation the universe his name"
@@themedialies6613 Most of his lyrics were just jokes and not to be taken serious. I have asked a person who knew him and she said he believed in god. Just because you don't openly is seen as a christian does not mean you forsake god. We don't know his private life, he might have asked for forgivness during his last moments. God is good and wants to forgive😊 If you really regret your sins, you can have a place with god. From what I have heard, Bon was very kind, so I don't doubt he got a place in heaven. He just had an addiction, but you know that Jesus walked to the whores, poor and troubeled souls to help them. Now you can believe what you want, but personally I don't like people who says "He went to hell because" it's like you try doing gods job, but only god can judge somebody
Love that the audience can be right up to the stage, pounding it with their fists. The reciprocal energy between the band and audience puts it into the stratosphere.
They were the great old days getting that close to huge band like AC/DC, today you gave to be about 4 metres away before you can get to the stage now with steel barriers between the crowd and to the stage..
12.28.24 wow guys thanks for getting this video up to 5K views. And for those complaining about the sound do us all a favor and don't bother commenting. I have been collecting bootlegs for years now and if you think this sounds awful I'd like to show you some other bootlegs that are around. What makes this compilation unique to me is the interviews. YuraTNT took a lot of time creating this and they did a wonderful job. And yeah okay, I get Brian isn't for everybody but i thought he did well in this performance. I am glad the majority of you have enjoyed this video. Keep watching and let's see how many views we can get it to in the next few months.
I've heard thousands of bootlegs over the decades, and you are right: There are A LOT of worse sounding ones out there of some stellar performances. Also some that sound WAY better, but you can train your hearing to ignore the poor audio-quality and focus on the performance instead. Anyway, it's better to have a poor audio-quality recording of a great performance than to have nothing at all....
This has become the new life show that I will be watching and starting thoroughly. I’d like to thank the channel for this to which I just subscribed. By the way, this is Fil “SoloDallas”, and I currently still work with AC/DC. Angus has been using for the past 10 years my invention or re-invention, the Schaffer circuit (Schaffer-Vega) that Angus was using on this very concert not only to be free of cables but also to obtain this incredible sound that you are hearing. The scorching tone, sustain and THEREFORE his amazing, best-on-planet vibrato was largely available to him because of the Schaffer circuit.
Thanks for loading up this concert video, on behalf of all AC/DC fans everywhere. The band was on fire that night! Ignore the “critics” who say the video’s quality sucks. This is a time piece, a souvenir of times gone by. The kids in the audience are grandparents today. What a sobering thought. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I met the 3 Young brothers in the late 1990's. Malcolm is cool, Angus...is ugh. A famous guy for sure and about 5 foot zero. The other brother was management and had songs in the 60's. Nice enough. Malcolm is the guy you want to hang out with. He is well read fyi....rip.

Historically from Dylan and Elvis, through to Deep Purple, Scorpions, Cheap Trick and they really loved Rock and Roll music. So did the Germans... go figure it all good and a blessing from the same generation but in Canada...These guys were at the top of their game back then despite the demise of Bon. Thin Lizzy were classics as well....They also put out live albums the same year...

Looks like this video was actually made in 2008, because during one of the interviews I could hear “Heatseeker” in the background, and it came from the AC/DC album “Blow Up Your Video.” And because Brian Johnson and Angus Young mentioned “Heatseeker” as a fun song. There was also mention of the Stephen King-directed trash classic MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (1987) where the soundtrack was performed exclusively by AC/DC and that included their hit “Who Made Who.” There was also mention of the song “Thunderstruck” from the album “The Razor’s Edge.” The concert, though, was from 1981.
I saw a picture of this live on the magazine "MusicLife" maybe, I was 13 years old. In 1982, I'm in the Nihon Budokan alone. I guess it is 2nd Japan tour for them, and I think I was the youngest audience that night. That time, is there Japanese AC/DC kids who younger than me? I found ROCK by myself, and my friends were not understand AC/DC ... still now.
Great to hear Cliffs bass higher in a mix. Some of the the Powerage tour bootlegs are like that too, he's playing it within an inch of it's life.Nice to see Malcolms Gretsch White Falcon too, altho it's nowhere as large as he makes it look ;)
I've heard audience-recordings from the 1970's that have better Sound-Quality.
