- Farmers Walk: Single attempt for distance in yards; half of body weight with Kettlebells in each hand!
The California 50 and over Fitness Competition will take place on Sunday, September 22nd from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Fitness Quest 10 (9972 Scripps Ranch Blvd. San Diego, CA 92131)

I'm 61. I've have an 11 degree street out front (which is pretty darn steep!), so I do 100 yard carries with 1/2 my body weight, and then do other exercises at the tops and bottoms of each interval. I really _enjoy_ it! I'm trying to score heavier dumbbells. I'd love to get up to my body weight.
We did 350 meters today where I set my PR on 45kg db's
Finally!!! All these FC videos and no one says how much weight or how long you should carry for. I weigh 170 also and had been carrying two 44lb KB. I do laps around my gym until I start to struggle with grip.
Farmer walks are superior to swings for me tbh. Love doing them with both, kettlebells and dumbbells.
I like to do farmers holds and suitcase holds whiles balancing on a 6" pipe. It doesn't seem safe, but its a killer core workout

How long should I do Farmers Walk?
As long as your body lets you do exercise take a break and go again. Walk 3 days in week or everyday and make Sunday as day off

I do for 4-6 minutes so probably that
try 40 pounds for a quarter mile in each hand
When did America switch to the metric system? Keep it pounds please so i don't get a headache trying to convert the numbers.....
Use your brain guy, he recommended using half of your body weight. His weights have nothing to do with your weight.
Not that difficult, and if converting causes headaches you should work on your brain as well as body.

Prob should go heavier like double bodyweight. Senior year highschool i did 335 on a trap bar and walked for about 50 yards shit was hard
Farmers walk is in each hand not total weight you're carrying. A good goal is body weight EACH HAND. Also, trap bar farmers are much easier than actual farmers handles

Most kettle bells come in kg weights. i.e. 16kg, 20kg, 24 kg
