- NPS crews also began power washing the Freedom Bell, and removing trash from the area, with barriers around the plaza as work continues.
Protests occurred around the city all day Wednesday, but Union Station quickly became a hub of more chaotic demonstrations. 7News cameras captured fires being lit and items being burned around Union Station and elsewhere clashes with police that saw U.S. Capitol Police deploying pepper spray.

This law makes it a felony to intentionally damage or destroy any property of the United States, or any property of a U.S. agency or department, or property being constructed for the U.S..
