If you are Swedish and you want to comment that 'nöjd' and 'content' are the same word. They are not. Yes google will suggest it as a direct explaination but the words do not mean the exact same thing and are not used interchangeably. I know Swedish, I know about the word 'nöjd'. ;) (and if you translate it the other way around, 'nöjd' to English, Google will suggest 'satisfied', which is what 'nöjd' really means)

Just out of curiosity: Could the confusion perhaps be partly coming from something similar to the word "zufrieden" in German? It can mean both "satisfied" and "content."

I was able to buy a modest sized house (on my own!) 11 years ago. Every morning I wake up, and walk through the house and think ‘I love my house’. Is it perfect? No….but it’s so nice….and it’s enough..😊

I appreciate your candid answers with everything from the companies you choose to work with, children, and the importance of healthcare for all. I lived overseas for 6 years, married to a man from NZ (at one point in time), and experienced socialized healthcare, as well as the lack of pressure to own a house or have my worth defined by what I do for work. The comment you mentioned about kids resonated with me, but not as far as "if" I am going to have kids, I do have one...but that is just it, I get the "are you JUST having the one kid, won't they be lonely?" Really? One never knows if there were fertility problems, divorce, and thus no one to continue with procreation at the time, and maybe, JUST maybe, one is enough. There is something about living in the EU I found relaxing, unpretentious, and more about the person and their character than the $$ they earned, the type of house they lived in, and the degrees one held. Thank you for your Ted Talk; it brought me back to a time when I was more at ease and relaxed and enjoyed "just being." You are always a joy to watch and listen to while I put my makeup on for the day. Thank you for creating thoughtful, funny, and colorful content! I appreciate you.

I love how open you are about not wanting kids. So many women I think are scared to say that because it’s just ingrained into so many people that they need to reproduce and I don’t think that’s the case. My twin sister doesn’t want to have any kids and I don’t blame her. She should enjoy her life as much as possible without them and she’s honestly not missing out on something that she herself never experienced anyways (yes, I’m sure people are going to judge me for that sentence and I really don’t care. She never knew what it was like to have kids and so she’s legit not missing out on something that she never was aware of. These are facts.) I have one kid and I love him to death. Hes 16… But I knew right after I had him that I didn’t want to have anymore and…originally I didn’t want to have any kids to begin with. With that being said… I don’t regret having a kid… I just am not a super maternal person and there are some people that are meant to have kids and love it and enjoy it and want more and then there’s people that just don’t want kids and you shouldn’t make people feel bad for not wanting to have children. I admire the fact that you don’t want to have kids. Kudos to you.

I recently heard something that really switched up my perspective of how I judge this particular age of a human's quality of life (hope that made sense lol) So apparently, in our current era, even people living below the poverty line live more comfortably than royalty did 100-150yrs ago and that really opened my eyes to how much stuff is just excess. I've never been one to need or even want the best, most expensive or newest things on the market, but that fact still makes me want to appreciate even the most basic stuff more than I have in the past. A lot of things in the world might really suck right now, but I still want to acknowledge how lucky I am to have been born in this era, as opposed to how my grandmother (who was born in 1919) grew up in rural PuertoRico. I mean, the first house my mom lived in was built by my grandfather and didn't have running water or electricity. They didn't move to the mainland (NYC) until the late 60's and I can remember my grandmother talking about how much of a culture shock it was being here.

Yes, being content is super important! And it’s not a signal of failure, as modern society would have you believe. Striving for stability and peace of mind feels much more healthy than this incurable disease of wanting more just for the sake of it. (Even for companies, what’s wrong with having a steady profit, having your employees protected and well payed and not feeling the need to burn everything in your path just to get “more”, which is never enough?).

Also, I commend you on trying for work/life balance. I am struggling with that- ALWAYS!😂

All this video is so much yes to absolutely everything Angie. I am 40, also a workaholic, struggling with dont lose myself on work 24/7 hahaha and yes, I need more balance. Also, hell yes to be content. Nobody need a mansion and a ferrari. You arent taking that to your grave or to the next life.

You answered these questions so very well I personally think that you have a very good strong knowledge on how to speak on certain topics being as honest and upfront as you can without over sharing or stepping on toes , I find it very very important to know that you will not allow yourself to be silenced for a paycheque your morals and integrity are very important to you and should be for everyone. Sadly we know that many people are willing to do many things for that all mighty dollar yes we all need money to survive in this World to eat, pay our bills have a roof over heads be able to clothe ourselves, but for so many it needs to be all done in the most lavish lifestyle possible and that means lots of the time not being as honest as they should of course this is not everyone but in this space it happens to be the very very big names that seem to have allergies to honesty some are so honest and truthful in their reviews they’ve never not once taken a Sponsorship or done an Ad because they do not to deal with any of that side of the business yet they’ve hit well over a million subscribers. You can do Ads and take Sponsorships and still be honest it is very possible and I see it with you Angie as well many others that can give an honest review and still earn money , we see you talk very highly of a Brand/ product for yrs sometimes before if ever making a cent from said Brand I think there’s many Creators that can learn things from smaller Creators not the other way around. I have a handful of Creators that I literally watch every single video or short they do because I know I can trust them and I find them likeable, I don’t need to relate to the person to really enjoy them you’re not relatable in any way to me but your values and honesty are something I respect and unfortunately earning my respect can be difficult especially in the space. I hope you have a fantastic day enjoy your beautiful weather I am currently getting blasted with a Winter Blizzard at the moment 30 cm of snow can’t see out any of my windows there covered in snow, I bet you’re just loving the Texas weather much more than the weather back in Sweden this time of yr our Counties have very similar weather conditions albeit very very very far away from each other.

Here’s the thing Angie, I was gonna give you the compliment that “you have a good head on your shoulders”… then I thought about how strange of an English phrase that is. Why would you tell someone heyy I like your head? I dunno LOL! We’ll go with a different phrasing and I’ll say that I always admire your intelligence and awareness of self and others, Angie! You’re a good role model if younger girls are watching. Never stop being you xo ❤

It sounds like what you are talking about is decluttering your fantasy self. You dream all these things with certain items but they're just a person that you wish you were but really aren't.
Also, I love a yellow blush

I am now sing,e at 64, bought a mobile home that needs updated so I could move out of my sons house after moving with him after a break up, but let me say I wake up and go to sleep feeling content. I paid for it on my own, I have a job and I work from home, and I am just happy. If you saw it you might think oh it’s out of the 90’s but it’s clean and it’s all. Ine. And it makes me happy

    Wonderful video and very informative.
You are absolutely right about saving for a home. The more you put down, the less your mortgage will be.
I saved and bought my 1st home at 25 year’s old. I put a nice amount down so my mortgage was low and my interest rate. I got a 15 year mortgage.
I was grateful enough to pay it off early. 🙏🏽
Me and my brother got into buying homes, fixing them up really good and then selling them. That actually brought the neighborhood property up.

Decluttering my life is my goal this year too. I'm going into it with the mindset that if I passed tomorrow, I don’t want to burden my family with having to clean my place of knick knacks and things with no meaning. So far its been going okay, I literally found a full on desktop computer that I haven't even taken out of the box. 😮‍💨

I haven't been able to get your brush set yet. But as soon as possible I will be getting a set or two. Your channel was the second channel I started watching when I first found the makeup world on UA-cam. Most days you were the first video I watched. I'm so so happy for you. You have always been so devoted to your channels uploads and honestly your viewers. You can tell that you really love makeup and talking about it and giving us real and honest reviews. Watching your videos is like just sitting down with a best friend and talking. I really hope you have continued success in whatever it is you choose for your future. OK now I'm sounding like your mother or guidance counselor from highschool. Lol

I FINALLY got back from a trip and got to open my new brushes!!! Love the color of the handle, love how soft the bristles are and that they’re a dark brown in color (helps do I don’t stress about staining!) and they applied my shadows last night (I too used the warrior 2 lol) perfectly! They were small and precise and I really think I might need to buy another two sets!

I know this would be work related, but if you are interested in doing a jewelry collection and de clutter on your Chanell I would totally watch that. You’ve got an interesting style.

Expat life and international calls 🙃 that’s such throwback for me and now I really appreciate EU lol
Childfree lifestyle is not for everyone and I have to say I have it easy my parents/family are fine with it and I don’t live in a country that is culturally obsessed with natalism (people understand not everyone can have kids). Last time I had conversation about kids it was like 4-5 years ago and they couldn’t grasp that if my partner wanted kids I would just set them free - if their goals in life are different than mine we are clearly not made for eachother. One of us will be unhappy so what is the point of staying together. That’s catastrophy in progress IMO.
Thanks for the video ❤ byee

Angie i would love to see your wardrobe declutter like in a vlog or something 😅 ! I have stopped buying things that don't fit me or i am sure will not wear , i try to be more thoughtful about this part of my life and not throw with money everywhere!
Also as a side note , me and my husband have decided to have one child, my son is 1 and 1/2 years old and some people started to be really adamant about our second child, even though we specifically said that we don't want to have more than one! Everybody should mind their own business!
