How do they last? I run on a steep mountain road with a fair bit of grit, tree bark, and twig debris. I killed a pair of Nike Vapour Fly in 50km - ten runs. Rather than the foam compacting (which also happened a bit), I ripped the rubber from the sole due to the sheer force produced by steep down hill and high friction road surface. I bought some reduced black Adidas Boston 11s with tougher foam and "Continental" (tyre brand) rubber but the stack height seems a bit unstable for mountain terrain, and I love wearing them at work because the black looks smart, they make me look taller, and the thick soles are good at keeping my feet warm on our freezing workplace concrete! A pair of Neon Yellow/Green Sonic 6 are reduced at a local store. They fit fine (in a half size up) and I'm attracted by the durable *looking* rubber on the sole. They have more rubber than I've seen on any running shoe, the heel cup (which I'm used to as a cyclist) for the ascent, and the fluorescent colour, like my bright orange Vapour flies, which I have yet to bin because the uppers are still so bright and pretty. Like the gussetted Adidas Boston 11s, and unlike the Nikes, the Sonic 6s grip my feet well. Narrow is not always bad, for mountain or slightly off-road runners at least. But how do they last? Does the rubber come off the sole quickly?
I like the color. I just can't run in HOVR. I tried a couple times and just gave up. I just buy the phantoms every year now because I think they look cool and they work well with agility workouts/trainers. I think UA should do more flow running shoes besides just the velociti wind. VW 3 got pushed to July because they are premiering that slipspeed trainer. Thanks for the review.
For running they the sonics are a bit too narrow for me and I do prefer many of the other UA models for running. I like Hovr but in build like the machina. I Have also though about UA making more Flow shoes but they would only really be changing the upper and I am satisfies with the velocity winds upper. I am not a big fan of the slipspeed and wish they would release more products simultaneously.
I really like the review. I would appreciate to hear more about the breathability of the upper layer and info about the tongue and lacing and inside of the shoe. I will also add that the heel cup comes back to hovr sonic 1 with it's style.
Hi, my friend, I am not good at speaking your language. Would you allow me to ask simple questions? What do you think of the shoes? Is it comfortable for the feet, for walking exercises for an hour and a half for two days, and also for gym exercises?
Hi friend ! Nice review !!! I bought this model in white and the seller told me that this shoe has a chip to connect with mapmyrun. Just let me know please if I got cheat, because I cannot connect it to the app! Thanks.
All map my run sneakers should have a map my run sticker on the front of the box so from what I recall these dont. However even if they did map my run is suppose to be discontinued either this year or next. Strava is a lot better.
Just got these and they kind of feel too narrow, my toes hurt a bit after a first 2 hour walk. Do they expand gradually after multiple uses or would you suggest that i return them?
@@CollyW Understood, thank you a lot for the quick reply and for the advice 🙏🏻 I was thinking Nike Winflo 10 due to them being equal price as these, not sure if they are considered ok in the world of good kicks? My foot is kinda wide i would say
Just bought these. Great review. Good call on free delivery.

Awesome review! Thanks!
Good review👍👍👍 thanks
The first one is just fine

I normally size 10.5 but for the sonic do you recommend go for 11 as they are narrow?

Yes they would be good for doing exactly that. The only issue some people have with this shoe is that it is narrow.

I am hesitating between it and the Nike Pegasus 39, but it seems that I will choose Nike
Which one is the best one, the Hovr sonic 4, 5 or 6 please let us know, thank you 🙏🏽
I'm actually not a big fan of the sonic. There are many other models that are a lot better around the same price in my opinion
You went US10.5 because you have a wide foot? Is the shoe wide foot friendly?
I dont have a wide foot and I do not recommend any sonic for people with wide feet.

id return and go for flow velocit elite, or hovr phantoms. These are the most narrow UA shoes in my opinion and also the reason I returned them.

My foot is kinda wide i would say
I got mine.. as in literally now.. it doesnt have bluetooth.. i got sonic 4 and it has bluetooth.
Im here confirming if sonic 6 dont have blutooth hahaha
@@alenntv6935 None of the new models will have bluetooth as the map my run app is discontinuing by 2025.
@@CollyW kinda sad.. im used to that app.🥺
Thanks btw.
@@alenntv6935 Check out the app Strava. way better in my opinion.
@@alenntv6935same I use app aswell. You think they are discontinued to bring another fitness watch with 3 digit price tag ? 😂
How does it for compared to the sonic 5?
Very similar. I cant really feel a different and i think its mostly cosmetic and a few changes on the upper.
I just buy the shoes it's awesome 👍
How're these for being everyday shoes?
Decent. they a pretty comfortable but may not be the best if you have a wide foot.
Will these be ok for CrossFit?
more of a running shoe so I wouldn't use it for lateral movement.
reminds me of a young lars ulrich haha
Whats the stack height?
Hi, this is not a guide/review, but "unboxing" :(
It's still a review but not a wear test. If you want information about the shoe, I suggest going for the Phantom series and not the sonics.
thx
This is such a weird shoe review.
