  • The Fagelgracht arrived to ABP Ipswich on the 18th February with a large consignment of rice from New Orleans. A mass discharge took place over the 6 days she was in port.
Svitzer Shotley and Svitzer Kent were heading up the Orwell from Felixstowe as they were requested for departure.
As the two tugs went under the Orwell Bridge, two Harwich Haven pilots boarded the Fagelgracht from the shore side. Once onboard the pilots went through the departure plan with the officers on the bridge and got the crew to go to stations ready to make fast the tugs.
Svitzer Shotley made fast centre lead aft while the Svitzer Kent made fast centre lead forward. Both back away into position ready to pull her clear of the berth. With permission to break away from Ipswich 500ft Berth. The pilots begin the process of departing by giving the orders to let go of the head and stern lines. With all the lines let go, both tugs stretch their tow gear and use the weight of the tugs to carefully edge the Fagelgracht from the berth into the Channel.
Safely in the channel, the pilot gets the Kent to position straight ahead as they start to come ahead on the main engine. Shotley drops in astern as the headway begins to build. Heading down the river, they start a turn to starboard before increasing a little more headway. Passing under the Orwell Bridge, the pilot gives a few blasts on the ships whistle.
Slowly but surely the Fagelgracht enters Felixstowe harbour and outbound to the Bawdsey Anchorage where the pilots disembark onto Harwich Haven Pilot Launch.
The Fagelgracht has got her next port as Koper in Slovenia where she's should arrive 6th March 2024
