One thing about the 2k devs is just lack of foresight. Like why do we have HOF badges but no HOF floor setter. The sportsmanship ban has got to be one of the dumbest ideas in the history of 2k also. There is no distinction between lagging out and quitting. We know any event causes 2k server instability. I’ve been reading about sports games in general and they all have their issues. It’s just the nature of a yearly cycle. Personally I’d be happy with every 2 years and we just get roster updates and minor changes in between new releases.

Archetypes could bring back role playing builds. The builder we have now got the worst players thinking they can do everything. Everyone plays the same. In 2k19 and 2k20 players actually knew their roles. Either way tho, 25 won’t be any good either.
There should be a ready up button in all match making modes like rec and theater. We should also have the ability to adjust setting and buy boost in between games when we are waiting to ready up.

The devs figure the more info put into the community the more critiques to that info that will come from the community. Which for them will drive down sales. I'm pretty sure 2k sees and hears ALL of what the community says but they know that the overwhelming population will still spend money on the game out of pure optimism or for content creators , content. They could care less as long as money is spent.
I'm not buying even on sale unless next gen comes to PC. I use PC for mods and my league and console for multiplayer. I'll be damned if I pay 100 per build to be a pie chart role player again

I think that the whole park thing needs to be rethought. This mode needs to be better and more interesting for players. City is and was just a big mistake. What I personally miss is better development.
Yes they are apart of the problem no one knows their role and this builder literally makes the same player but with different heights, for instance a 99 stat is pretty much useless which is why everyone just makes build with the lowest stat they need for the best animations in each category

The gap between 94-99 will more than likely always be miniscule unless they purposely make that gap wider, which is something they could do now. It also wouldn't matter anyway because you'd be forced into that situation rather than having the option to do so. Having 99 doesn't necessarily make sense anyway because it strong arms you into that category while taking away from something else. For example, why have 99 perim and 60 steal when you could have 87 and 85? One makes you extremely hard to beat one on one, but vulnerable to ball movement while the other makes you a threat both ways if you have decent enough IQ. Basically, I don't want to feel forced into a build when I could make something that fits how I like to play and not how the community or 2k wants me to play. Meta will just be 3&D Wings, Play shots, and a Shooting C anyway

Archetypes 😂😂😂 Why? Because some people in the community want to be role players or want their teammates to be role players😂😂. Players can make role players now if they choose to. If i wanted to play with predetermined builds then i would just play quick match vs the AI or 5 v5 quick match. These builds are not cheap so why should we be forced to play with builds that have limited creativity. 2k and yall are always focusing on the wrong things.. fix the fn defense in the paint and perimeter, fix the inconsistent shot contest system, smooth out dribbling animations, add more usable animations, tone down layup and dunk animations that allow you to consistently get to the rim regardless of the defense (especially the ones that just glitch u all the way to the rim from 15 to 18 feet away by tapping a button or or doing precision dunks) fix passing animations (i wonder if the developers even watch nba games) match making should be based off skill not my player overall rating , last and surely not least fix the fn servers (especially during events)
i reaaaaaaaaaallly dont want to buy 2k25 but its a much cheaper option for getting the nba league pass. so I guess need to decide if i even want to watch nba this year, though hard to pass up on watching Luka play the nba like its rookie mode
The problem with the CIty is that it's a pointless space and 2K hasn't decided to really use it for what it could be & with how stingy 2K is, they probably can't make the city what it was. One complaint I had is the constant need to run around the city daily collecting quests, one thing I thought would be cool is if you could eventually hire an assistant to do all the run around for you. Take some of the grindy run around away. Have it where you can buy different apartments on homes and build on those, where you can add your own gym so you don't constantly have to go to the gym, and you can upgrade equipment so getting 3 and 4 stars become easier per upgrade. See these are all RPG type elements and that's the direction 2K seemed to be going but then you can't really do that when you're greedy and a pair of shoes requires you to play like 10 full NBA games and get endorsements. Their greed and economy won't allow them to add fun stuff to the game to make the city a good addition. So yea I say scrap it. I don't think we're gonna get the game we deserve until the community stops buying the game and spending all this money on VC.
Badge regression is one of the worst features in the game. You can’t really switch a play style in game if needed because let’s say you need to rim run for a game or 2 you’d lose your shooting badges and vise versa. In my opinion I liked 2k22 badge load outs, if you’re playing 1s you could switch the badges same thing with 2s,3s,5s rec etc. but not this year it limits everyone’s ability to even play the game how we want to play it
NGL the only thing we want outside of gameplay and balance is SERVERS!!! Stop the lag, stop the timeouts/blue screens and if we’re keeping badge/stats/win/rep level then lag out or even dash boarding within the 1st quarter shouldn’t effect your stats, rep or win % .. we all have solid internet who play 2k strictly because 2k is the only consistent unplayable game . If they make that not a penalty because they recognize it’s a majority of their fault than most people would be able to play . But having a lag out take you from gold to silver etc or 20ppg to 13.5 ppg is just something the average player can’t afford .. boost the servers first. Especially if you’re keeping the city which inevitably makes the game run worse because of the high output of truly unnecessary assets . 2k should be simplified to gameplay . No one cares about looking good anymore like the old days because you can’t play your way into looks. You’re playing the game to play the game . But if it worked, a lot of people would still pay cosmetic money. But it doesn’t, so you’re forced to boost and boost and pray to the internet gods. SERVERS FIRST !!! Only option to sustain player base

If my team is shooting 2/13 and down 27 in the 1st quarter WHY DO I NEED TO SUFFER THROUGH ALL THAT?? Also the builder this year wasn’t the worst, but I’m tired of making role players. I think for balancing sake if every build is OP then nobody is OP, you know?! Lastly the intimidator badge needs to make a comeback. Ever since it was removed interior/perimeter contest have been damn near nonexistent. Side note: Stop giving all these UA-camrs and pro-league players the keys to the game, they don’t represent the player base and they are not the majority. AllCity I loved the builder I HATED and I mean HATED archetypes builder, it's a dummy way to build that's my opinion. So there's no need to be toxic in what I've said. Badge regression was no problem for me, I liked that too, just get rid of cheaters.
I don’t have a problem with how builds are currently made. It’s the inconsistent thresholds each year. A 45 driving dunk is good enough for someone to get a consistent animation. I use a 45 standing dunk and get unfair animations all the time. You literally have a UA-camr posting a video iso-ing with a 26 speed with ball. Other 2ks like 20, you could easily shoot with a 65 three ball. My point is that the thresholds for attributes needs to be higher to be impactful. That way, people will be forced to sacrifice (aka stop trying to make demigods and stick to a role).

Badge regression is one of the worst features in the game. You can’t really switch a play style in game if needed because let’s say you need to rim run for a game or 2 you’d lose your shooting badges and vise versa. In my opinion I liked 2k22 badge load outs, if you’re playing 1s you could switch the badges same thing with 2s,3s,5s rec etc. but not this year it limits everyone’s ability to even play the game how we want to play it

NGL the only thing we want outside of gameplay and balance is SERVERS!!! Stop the lag, stop the timeouts/blue screens and if we’re keeping badge/stats/win/rep level then lag out or even dash boarding within the 1st quarter shouldn’t effect your stats, rep or win % .. we all have solid internet who play 2k strictly because 2k is the only consistent unplayable game . If they make that not a penalty because they recognize it’s a majority of their fault than most people would be able to play . But having a lag out take you from gold to silver etc or 20ppg to 13.5 ppg is just something the average player can’t afford .. boost the servers first. Especially if you’re keeping the city which inevitably makes the game run worse because of the high output of truly unnecessary assets . 2k should be simplified to gameplay . No one cares about looking good anymore like the old days because you can’t play your way into looks. You’re playing the game to play the game . But if it worked, a lot of people would still pay cosmetic money. But it doesn’t, so you’re forced to boost and boost and pray to the internet gods. SERVERS FIRST !!! Only option to sustain player base

Until I gameplay where defense is actually improved for example blocks and paint defense or just all around animations I’m tired of seeing bs go on because I got a bad animation defense and offense needs to be improved drastically we should have the option to build our player using actual NBA player templates similar to how our favorite nba player is in quick play legend should actually matter and give the people who grind It out plus 10 in every category perm boosts etc honestly I loved the 2k21 progression system for ex iron wall and others for leveling up and don’t get me wrong I like some things they did in 2k24 the putbacks being easier the right stick steals etc but there’s so much that needs work still and they need to fix online latency etc etc sorry for the essay lmao

The sportsmanship ban HAS TO GO! All I play is random rec and I shouldn’t be penalized for leaving a game that’s already lost. If my team is shooting 2/13 and down 27 in the 1st quarter WHY DO I NEED TO SUFFER THROUGH ALL THAT?? Also the builder this year wasn’t the worst, but I’m tired of making role players. I think for balancing sake if every build is OP then nobody is OP, you know?! Lastly the intimidator badge needs to make a comeback. Ever since it was removed interior/perimeter contest have been damn near nonexistent.
Side note: Stop giving all these UA-camrs and pro-league players the keys to the game, they don’t represent the player base and they are not the majority. Sure they “bring in revenue” but they’re also the ones ruining the game so than it’s easier for them to win.

AllCity I loved the builder I HATED and I mean HATED archetypes builder, it's a dummy way to build that's my opinion. So there's no need to be toxic in what I've said. Badge regression was no problem for me, I liked that too, just get rid of cheaters.
I don’t have a problem with how builds are currently made. It’s the inconsistent thresholds each year. A 45 driving dunk is good enough for someone to get a consistent animation.
I use a 45 standing dunk and get unfair animations all the time. You literally have a UA-camr posting a video iso-ing with a 26 speed with ball.
Other 2ks like 20, you could easily shoot with a 65 three ball. My point is that the thresholds for attributes needs to be higher to be impactful. That way, people will be forced to sacrifice (aka stop trying to make demigods and stick to a role).

I feel like you should have to give up something if you want a high steal especially with how cheesy it is. Why isn't steal rating connected to perimeter defense at all? Why can you make a build with a low perimeter but a 91+ steal?

They would never put an actual demo… they would get flamed online if the game isn’t improved… the marketing team would rather just have hype from the content creators who played the game early to cap about how good their playing experience was.

If 2k is going to get rid of the demo they need to have a better breakdown what badges actually do, what rating thresholds are needed for animations BEFORE the build is made, and stop hiding animations behind a rep that takes way too long to grind for casuals
My thing is when you play an NBA game you have all these options to work on these badges when you go into a wreck game and you’re a wreck warrior you don’t have time to do all of that so if you’re not gonna give me bad badges on Hall of Famefloor setters then don’t give me regression and the silver one in Orleans entirety one of my bills didn’t even make sense if you’re gonna have regression give us floor setters on Hall of Fame as well
