I used to drink 5-10 cups of coffee a day for most of my life, up until my early 50s, when I was diagnosed with ADHD. I went on my meds and my coffee consumption dropped to 1-3 cups a day. In fact, the best diagnostic tool I had for when my body was acclimated to the medication dosage I was on was that my coffee intake would start to increase. My doctor suggested that one reason I was able to cope with my ADHD most of my life was through self-medication with coffee. Just adding this to the conversation.
Makes sense since people believe that adhd is linked to a imbalance in dopamine and if this video is correct then coffee acts as a reuptake inhibitor allowing a chance for you brain cells to absorb the proper amount of dopamine

I gave up coffee for 2 years once. When I started up again it was super powerful! Now I can't live without it. A strong cup every morning keeps me happy!
I haven't had coffee in over 20 years. To this day I don't even remember the effects of it but it felt like it gave you something and then took it away, like drugs tend to do. I feel more clear, alert etc without drinking coffee these days. The problem is that people become addicted to it and that they *think* they need coffee in the morning to even function properly. That's a sign of the addiction kicking in. You don't need coffee to function, it's something your brain has led you to believe through years and years of drinking it. Once I stopped drinking coffee everything just started feeling better. It's hard to explain.
I started drinking coffee 3 years ago. I was wondering why I had the urge to poo and every morning. I'm surprised that scientists still don't have a clear answer
An additional benefit to both coffe and tea which is why the USA army and British army loved those two drinks respectively. To properly use them one must boil the water used and that will kill local microorganisms the troops aren’t used to, and thus reduce the illnesses, and potential deaths, that drinking non boiled water would produce.
There are very few internationally universal words that are understood nearly everywhere by everyone. "Coffee" (or "cafe") is one of those words. It's easier to ask for coffee than water in many situations.

I know that coffea but surgar and milk are added to make it sweeter. Also there is coffea with concentrated caffeine, with one cup being the day amount or more.
Is it just me? Why do I not get energized or even feel anything when I drink coffee. But sometimes when I drink it I can't fall asleep but I didn't feel energized, it's just that I'm not sleepy or tired.
