I think the gun is absolutely in character, its to show the meaning behind the meaning of Elation, this is absolutely the embodiment of what her Aeon is like, I am actually glad they don't censor her, its supposed to feel disturbing, they did an amazing job on the trailer.
Shes playing Russian roulette with herself in this trailer the red mask vs the white mask. There is one real bullet and every time she pulls the trigger the flag with confetti means that it wasn't the bullet. When the red mask claiming to be elation was forcing her other self to shoot her, the was only two shots left but it was confetti again. Then the final one had the bullet meaning the version with the white mask was guaranteed to lose the game and die.
My best guess is that this is Sparkle meeting/conversing etc. with Aha The Elation. There's two "Main" Sparkle's in the trailer, one with a fully white mask and one with a fully red mask. The one with the Red mask is the crazy unhinged one but is also the one who's very knowledgeable about fools and being foolish and also proclaims itself as Elation. During their Russian Roulette game, there's a 1/6 chance the current chamber is loaded. "White" Sparkle fires the first shot, empty. "Red" Sparkle then goes through the next 3 shots and forces "White" to shoot her on the 50/50. All empty. Then this leads to the shot of "Red" Sparkle holding "White" in her hands as she's shot and her white mask drops into the water, half of it now turning red. This half white half red mask is the current Sparkle's mask that we all know.
Were you aware, at the time, about what Russian Roulette was? 😅 She shot 4 blanks, and 1 live round taking us on an acid trip. The revolver is the main gun used in this game, a flare gun doesn’t have a cylinder. If it did, then it would be a grenade launcher instead because of how big the flares are.

Sparkle might replace SW as my fav character at this rate lol also told u her acting was her elation path from the previous video. I'm curious to how much chaos shes going to cause in the story... to blow up the stage as big as possible. I'm pretty sure thats why shes playing as other characters to cause as big of a mess *cough* stage as possible lol. just hope you dying isn't going to help create a bigger stage... cause if it is... she's probably going to set that up, just for sparkle. She is quite literaly playng rusian rollet with herself(ps: the guns real but only has one real bulet) sparkel plays rusian rollet against another personalaty of herself as they both agree to play the "game" u can hear theyr dialog btwen eachother, its rely cool and pushes her crazy side a bit further while having some psicological implications and bulding some lore... i love her and i am puling
I'll have to disagree with you in one bit. I think the russian roulette gun fits her so well and her reactions to each shot fired are precious, especially the first one.
