Why do I feel like SquatU is just watching me lift secretly and making these videos after? I just dropped a five and a half hour long One Piece All Characters Tier List on my channel. Please indulge in my bad decisions if you have any interest in something like that.
I‘ve been having this exact problem the other day. I’ve been using your videos to help me figure out where I was going wrong. Thanks so much for making a specific vid about it, I’m excited to get back to lifting back-pain free again!
Dude, his videos are nice but you need a physical terapist. I know it is expensive, but by doing on your own u might fuck up other stuff, you wont get all his knowledge from his vids.
@@lucaslimal3 I’ve had a physical therapist, that’s precisely why I like his vids so much. A lot of the things I learned while going to physical therapy are present in his vids and continue to work for me. I’m not doing any complex fixes so, learning how to correctly brace my core to get more out of my lifts, isn’t going to mess me up. I do appreciate the concern, though!
Just wanted to say dude i rushed into being a personal trainer. But my god have your videos helped me out. These people act like i am their savior at this point because of all your videos have taught me. Ive learned more here than during my NCEP course
Dude I just put an alarm clock near my ass when I have to wake up my glutes. Lmao Great video Dr. Horschwig. My dad and I have been following you for years and we can't thank you enough for how much your videos and Rebuilding Milo have helped us.
This channel deserves all the views. You’ve helped me strengthen my knees and now I hope I can awaken my booty. I wish you toured around the country to help everyone
I legit love this form of bridge. I have tried everything as a yogi to improve knee pain in this posture and this does the job perfectly. Making progress with the help of these videos 🎉🎉🎉
Also look at the difference in knee flexion at the start of the movement before and after. Before (with pain) his knees were less bent and knees were behind his arms very slightly. After (without pain) his knees were a little bit past his arms. More bent knee means less hamstring stretch so less tension for the same weight.
Dude your channel is a blessing for me. I have been recently wanting to get back into general exercise and such, but know very little about proper form (and more importantly the reasons behind the application), and as such the manner in which you present the information in your videos is perfect for me. Thank you so much!
Interresting... dont havet to deadlift 225kg to feel this is working:) 3rd time down the road my left glute finally engaged so I'll test this as part of my morning wakeup routine:)
I have chronic back problems including arthritis, herniated, disc, and stenosis related to a previous break. I will always be somewhat limited in what I can do in terms of load, but I've noticed that my whole posterior chain has been getting weak over the last few years. I was hypothesizing for myself that it might be something similar to this? 🤔🤔
I’ve watched these “wake my bootie up” videos for a few weeks now and I feel that it’s time to disturb my tush from its slumber. My bum and brain have been disconnected for a few decades so this gonna be interesting 🍑🤝🧠
Completely unrelated I know but the brain can also inhibit nerve activation to the glutes in due to shame internalized about those areas in the brain. This can have many reasons such as being brought up told to "hold your body with modesty, i.e. to not walk with your butt (which is NATURAL)" or even from instinctive reaction to abuse earlier in life, causing the brain to
What if I feel my glutes activating very well, but my low back hurts? I feel like my low back and glutes are activating equally but it leaves my low back with cramps and pain.
Same for me ..what i did was bend over a box facing down quads facing the side of the box with kneed and toes facing the ground ..and then straighten your legs out as a rep... we always bend our top half over but we never bend the lower half of the body ...
Or there could be reciprocal inhibition from tight hip flexors and trunk stabilizer deficit. Wouldn't be amnesia if he never had correct form or body awareness to begin with; clever phrase though.
This is why heavy hip thrusts should be one of the major lifts. For the weight you can move, the range of motion and the muscles recruited, taking safety into account, it has a better pay-off than the deadlift itself.
@@CptApplestrudl Not for me, majority of the time when I do any type of curling motion, I feel all the tension in the tendon in my elbow and my front deltoid.
@@CranberryJackson57 Feeling an exercise in tendons is generally different than in a muscle. I am no doc but as far as I can estimate tendon problem can stem from lacking mobility or lacking stability in joints etc.
@SquatUniversity what if there is no pain, but visually you can tell one cheek is perfectly round the other looks like a deflated punched in basketball...asking for a friend.. 😒

For real
Because we’re not special, we all lift in a sedentary modern world and have similar problems.
wouldn't even be mad

This channel has more value per second than anything else on UA-cam.
A cue i often give people it to imagine a hand pushing against their hips. Very simple, but people instantly get it
Bro: I can't feel my ass...
Dude: You're sitting on it.
Bro: Exactly!
I think this is what I've been dealing with for years. Debilitating lower back pain because my glutes and hamstrings don't know how to function.
One of best channels in terms of lifting, thank you

I suffer from back pain and when I used to do a glute bridge there were 0 activation in the glutes. So this is real
I love the diagrams and demonstrations, they've helped so much!

Gluteal amnesia sounds like the body forgot the glutes existed.
This is what has happened to me, I'm tired of living with hip pain😢
Well that’s pretty much it
@@osamabinswaggin2142me too! Fixing my glutes to help the tight hip
Not to mention he was essentially doing a bent straight leg dead lift. Not activating his glutes at all
This was so damn helpful! Can feel the glutes take over and free the back muscles. Didn't need the belt either. Thank you so much.

I swear your channel is very impressive !
Glute amnesia is my new catch phrase.
THANK YOU
I just tried this in between sets and it seems like it was way better!
I definitely have this problem I can't even do a normal bridge

Ragnar Loðbrók making nice progress, good for him!
The man, the legend! Back at it again with evidence based practice 😎
Great information.
His start position was completely different too which probably helped.
This makes so much sense now
Slap each cheek with equal vigor, that's what I do at the gym they call me red bottom apple bum rbab for short
I'm experiencing this right now! Can you make more videos explaining how to scale this long term?
thank you that my problem and today i do like 210 kg 5x and its ok no pain thank you
Great content 👍
When ever i deadlifts be it sumo or bulgarian rdl i always feel my glutes and all thanks to your exercises
Great explanation
It’s the right flute for me same issue
Love this channel
And this is why I use the hip abductors machine.
I have this exact issue with my left glute. I'll try this routine to see whether it'll work for me or not

Btw. Keeper the chin tucked
My ass is forgetful too
Lmao
Videotaped myself for the first time. It led me here…
Awesome !
I am messed up all over the place, where do I find a PT like you???
You’ve been noceboed
does this occur in other lifts? i feel as though any leg work i do (squats, hip thrusts, bulgarians) only activate quads or lower back
Cool and crazy 🤔
Very interesting!
okay but i cant even squeeze the glutes before the bridge ?

How are called the people expert in this field so I can search them in my country?
Yep. This was me.
My glutes are hard to fire too. I also try and do hip widening stretches and find i can feel a better contraction on my left glute than on my right

Then I am suffering from serratus anterior amnesia
Or your bench form sucks
What about abs? A lot of people have problems with hip flexors taking over.
What exercise are we even talking about?
Amnesia is not sleeping
This is me 😅
Do you also see this gluteal amnesia in people who report sitting a lot every day?
Yeah definitely, that’s one of the main ways it happens
So, he needed his technique adjusted?
🥇🦍🏆
Long back, short legs. Not good for deadlifting. On the floor to knee hight is all leg work. Glutes are very important and hamstrings hip power.
Is that video's title a JoJo reference‽‽
I don’t get it i still can’t feel my glutes
Can you discuss this for Biceps and chest. I have struggled for years trying to feel my Biceps and chest.
This helped me immensely with chest activation and development:

Not feeling your chest I hear all the time, but biceps? I mean, as long as you're curling properly, it's working, right?

You mean... Assmnesia?
Can't feel what you don't have.

Sensation =/= activation. It’s impossible to perform a hinge WITHOUT the glutes “activating”.
Bro jus told him to use his glutes
And?
He has no glutes to activate lol
I don’t have to. I opened my girlfriend’s glutes last night
He also had terrible form
He needs to tuck his chin
