    • @murky9554
      @murky9554 Рік тому +9

      That's exactly what I am thinking about since yesterday...and here Lee himself confirms it by saying: "It's a big tonal characteristics difference, isn't it?" + PRS Himself descirbes it as an :amp like with almost vocal mids: - Now that simply doesn't sound like being Transparent in any way...

    Excellent. We got pedals that convey the sound of PRS guitars as accurately as possible. It is surprising that the company allowed its instruments to sound completely different from what was planned. Manufacturing technology, wood and varnish, components, strings and pickups. Even the amplifiers have been thought out in this long chain of creating an authentic PRS sound. But any pedal or processor took us away from what Mr. Paul Red Smith heard in his dreams. We are waiting for a delay and a reverb. Bravo..

    Love the irony of a voice control on the transparent overdrive. Transparent Overdrive has become such a trigger term for eye-rolling. Beyond that, the Klon that it references isn't transparent.. Weird branding. (It was labeled as transparent by some, but it pumps your mids and cuts a bit of your bass as you bring up the gain.)
    Their new little headstock tuner is the bee's knees though. Just know if you play a lot of acoustic the clip isn't big enough for some guitars.

    Great video guys first of all the horsemeat thing I heard Paul Reed talking to Vic and Dan they asked him why the horsemeat name voice is very similar to the story when I asked the designers of the Chevrolet Camaro what is a Camaro they basically said something like it's a Ferocious Beast that eats Mustangs for breakfast the horsemeat is not a clone at all. I have the Merry Christ pedal and I love it especially at the end of all of my gain stages for Boost and sometimes just for that nice slightly brighter clean sound but the problem I have is when I click it it makes a loud boom if I'm using it as a boost so I'm wondering if I need to replace the stop switch with an easier one like you would find on EarthQuaker pedals or walrus audio pedals

      It really comes down to how any piece of gear effects the way you play, which the audience might not understand, but they will appreciate the results!
      If something is well built, with a clean circuit and good components, it will sound and respond different. Like the klon pedals have a really low noise floor and they respond to your playing very quickly, which isn't something you hear people talk about when they describe it. I tried a bunch of different clones that used the same components. They all sounded great, but only a few brands captured the way an actual klon felt.
      Or tubescreamers, everybody says one series sounds like this, one series sounds like that, yada yada yada. I went to a tubescreamer party about ten years ago and we all lined up our pedals. A couple originals, four TS9s, and a bunch of clones. We put them on a switcher one of the guys had made for his rig. Couldn't tell the difference between most of them.

    Does your compressor pop when switching it? Mine does.

    I assumed that there was a Hendrix theme going on here with Wind, Cries, Mary but I don't know where horsemeat fits in, but perhaps the work of legendary groupie Cynthia plaster caster could offer some clues.

    I love the name of Horsemeat, based on what PRS himself said it was about - grinding up the horse body of the Klon, and making improvements on it.

      well, that and that integrates the 3 meat from Josh Scott. which is the right call and i am extremely happy to see that my modded Bass soul food is now a mass produced model from Paul Reed Smith.

    Horse butchers were pretty common here in Denmark when my parents were kids. I had horse meat tartar with a quail egg yolk and soy sauce in Japan once. It tasted great.
    The pedals sound great too. I like the names. I mean people love "Big Muffs" and "Brown Eye" pedals, so what's wrong with horse meat?

      And how many non vegetarian and non vegans? What if it was called "vegan pedal"? should all non vegans protest and say "I don't want to buy it?"
      Again, what about "Big muff pi"? it's just a name.

    Can't help but feel we're all being punk'd with these pedal names. Like Ashton Kutcher is going to pop up in one of these videos any second with Paul and let us in on the joke. Seriously, I think the purpose was to get people talking about the products, and it worked.
