Triumph Moto2 Prototype Test | WHAT A SOUND
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- As Triumph prepare for life as Moto2 engine supplier, we blagged a few laps onboard the test mule to sample its final development at Silverstone's Stowe circuit. A modified cylinder head, titanium valves, race alternator, taller first gear, Marelli ECU, revised engine covers to reduce width and a different sump for exhaust routing are the main modifications to the 765cc powerplant.

Daytona 765, YES! Build it and the people will come ;)
John Ghani love the field of dreams reference
It was supposed to be a double entendre lol
"Why's my field of dreams all sticky?"
Id buy it
you spelled "cum" wrong
I think the whole world is waiting for Triumph to bring out the Daytona 765.... would be perfect if they could DNA the sound "Noise" to the road version with buffel removed ;) BTW your a lucky Bar****** :)
Just asking. Do you think this bike's sounds better than MV Agusta F3 ??
Fuck that give us a 1050 superbike that I can't afford
sure does:) and all the screws will stay in on the Triumph compared to the MV
Soooo much hope for this!
Gerardus Wicaksono it’s personal... but for me, yes.
I will buy a Daytona 765R the day they come out! Now start the R&D and build one!
Triumph already built a Daytona 675R
Alex Morgan No they haven't. Only this test mule for Moto2. No production daytona 765 has been made
Sorry I am dislecksic.
Me2
And I will buy a Daytona 765 RS with an Arrow exhaust, Brembo brakes and an Öhlins suspension... ;)
I even love the paint job, you could literally just add lights/number plate and people would buy it
Budget statham bringing us the goods! nice work lad!
Haha
this decal work will be a popular one for many daytona
Ok then… I want to buy a Triumph Daytona 765! I can even trade for my 2011 Daytona!! Is this enough for that guy?!?! Who´s with me?
Will Buy. Already have 675R. Make it happen Triumph! *No I will not be selling the 675R.* Two Daytona's is better than one.
Now does this mean moto2 will be sexier than motogp?
It kinda already was, especially with all the aero in MotoGP now.
Yes
Always has been. I'd rather be watching Moto3 actually. Lots more action, that's for sure.
just watch tt isle of man. you wouldn't be able to sit down
No but the sound of course !!!
Here here!
Don't you usually upload a vid on Wednesdays!? ;)
I think you mean 'hear hear', fella! Or are you simply calling the 765 towards you? :-)
...every day's a school day.... :0)
Where where?
TheMissendenFlyer r
I just don't get why people like this view from behind. It's shite! I don't want to see the riders arse. Mint sounding bike though.
😂
I dont get it either.
Using a production frame is a tribute to just how good the stock stuff is. From a marketing angle it's pure genius!
Triumph please make a Moto 2 Replica. Take my money now!!! Matte black with white graphics....drool! Make it track or road. 😀😀😀
👍🏁🤣😂
If the hype from the comments on this video alone doesn’t make them build it, then I don’t know what will 🤷🏽♂️
People actually buying sport bikes again? You can go pretty broke, pretty fast, listening to UA-cam enthusiasts who promise a lot and buy nothing.
okleydokley I bet you’re the life and soul of a party eh?
Question is would double D buy one or stick with your speed?
My god the looks, the noise 😍😍😍😍
That isn't noise it is music
So much nicer than a grid full of bland CBR's...& probably will outshine the premiere class aurally too 👏👍👍
I own a street triple and a Daytona 675. I am 100% ready to buy a Daytona 765. I haven't stopped thinking about one since the ST 765 was released.
a dream coming true !!
The big man from Triumph in front of the mic delivered some good info there. Props to that. If we want to see a roadgoing 765, there have to be enough people willing to BUY it. Don't just say you want it. Be willing to buy it. If becomes when. Industries run on money - you want more of what you want, pay for it. Fagan, love you for doing what you do.
get your wallets out boys, get down to your triumph dealer and put down a deposit for a 765 Daytona
It's like a 500 mile drive to my nearest triumph dealer lol.
Question is how much would it cost 😂
Can you put down a deposit for a bike that does not yet exist or has not been green lit for production, at least as far as the public is concerned?
£20000 and I might let mine go any takers?
Done😉😎 2020 here we come!
So where's the kickstarter where I can sign up or put my signature down. Give me this god damn bike
Magnifique machine que cette moto 2 de *TRIUMPH* quelle bonne publicité pour cette marque de mythique de moto.
Triumph, I implore you to make the production verson of this bike and sell that variant in your showrooms. Also, it will be nice to see a sports-tourer in your lineup for young people such as meself.
What a job Triumph has done developing this awesome Moto 2 bike hats off 👏👏👏 i ride a 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R and if triumph do bring this Daytona 765R into production well all I can say is there onto a winner!! Triumph making us brits 🇬🇧proud
I had a 675r and it’s still the quickest bike I’ve ridden around a few tracks, I just got fed up of overtaking people in corners to be blasted back past on the straights so I swapped for litre bikes. If they make a 765r it would be a tough choice for me after BMW have just launched the new S1000RR.
The sound of this bike is 100x better than Ducati
mery nice, are you saying Damion Hill was slow as you needed to warm the tyres after he had just ridden it? hehe, Must have been tight around Stow on that!
The Superduke rider has been spotted
I'm ready to leave Ktm for a 765 Daytona. Trust me, it's not an easy thing with me..
God damn you triumph, you drugged us and now you want us to beg for it!!! TAKE MY ALL!!!GIVE ME MORE! GIVE IT TO MEEEE!!!
I'm surprise they haven't already come out with a Daytona yet. I bet they are waiting for more publicity from Moto2. Their marketing group could go ham with the "Moto2 inspired" lines when marketing the bike. That will drive interest and sales. Make some minor changes to the Street Triple 765 RS motor, slap some sexy fairings with LED headlights and you're done.
AND you were hanging out with Damon Hill! What a day!
As a Daytona 675 H67 owner and hardcore fanboi I can assure you i will uppgrade to a 765 if that day comes 🤩
I actually like how Triumph are very careful with decision about new Daytona, it shows there are healthy company, healthy business, even though they are very successful right now it doesn't mean you throw away the money for new model for which there is no market for. No one wants to see the truth , Daytona 765 would be awesome bike, but new Street Triple (especially RS) is killing it on all levels. You can commuting on it, you can take it to the twisties and have fun on the track. To push limits on the track it is better to use older bike. Not many people have money to throw brand new bike into the gravel.
great stuff........ would be cool if triumph actually had a team in moto 2 too
Keep dreaming, they're probably still grinning like schoolgirls that they got their name on a racetrack without having to throw away money on a factory team at all.
N A I L E D I T !
I think it's time Yamaha put the mt09 engine in an R6 frame
lol uhh nah
@@SaWuDOHC why?
@@ridingwithsam nobody wants the r6 to be a low rpm torque monster. The whole point is the small engine and high revs.
@@SaWuDOHC yeah all they have to do is retune it. Same for what triumph did with street triples and daytona. Street triple was tuned to have more torque. Wouldn't take much for yamaha to lower the torque and increase the hp
Black Plato We dont? Maybe you dont but that would be great as long as it gets some top end to boot. Ever ridden a properly set up 09? Reflash does wonders.
Sign me up. I would trade in my S1000 for the 765 in a freaking heartbeat.
The Triumph triple engine is amazing. I have an old ST955 triple with what is believed to be a standard Triumph sports exhaust and it sounds close to this. It is like a spitfire on full chat. The torque is amazing as well. I would be interested in a 765 if they made one.
Triumph playing coy and hard to get.
I'm just gonna sit in my little corner and dream of a Daytona 1050 😂 Seriously though soo damn keen for Moto2 next year!
His answer to whether or not a Daytona 765 will be released is exactly what I'd expect. Sales of naked bikes are crushing sports bikes, especially when they are so good now. The market is buying naked bikes, not super sports.
Yea true, but I think a lot of it also has to do with the fact that new emissions regulations are killing the supersport segment below 1000cc. There is very little difference between a new R6 and the old generation, and most advances are made in electronics, which people are not willing to pay for when the old generations are already 90% as good at cheaper prices. The middleweight supersport segment has killed itself by achieving a pinnacle of performance that is now only hindered by emissions and other regulations. And when that's the case, naked bikes become much more attractive because they haven't reached the same technology pinnacle yet and because they are not as track focused they also aren't as incredibly competitive - so manufacturers can be more bold with their new generations and how they wish to market them.
Another great point, emissions regulations have definitely played a part in killing the 600cc. I think it is great Yamaha is carrying that torch but the reality is selling to the track day enthusiast or grassroots racer is a tiny market in the the big picture. Those folks would rather buy a cheaper used bike. Either way, I can't wait to see these scream around the track in Moto2. This motor is the reason I bought my Street Triple RS last year.
Because the 1000s are mad fast (for road), and the 600s are boring.
I reckon these would sell.
D.B. 600s are not boring mate
Exactly what I've been saying for ages sport bike sales have been terrible for years the market for them isn't what it used to be, the market truly is all about the naked market now
Trackdayonly Version!! For small money pls.... there is no need for a Streetlegal version with all the EURO4 declarations on it... please make it for the people!!
Makes me proud to own a Daytona 675:) Cant wait to see what the production 2019 Triumph Daytona 765R will look like :)
And now it’s been commercially announced
I'm waiting on the production version of this and the 2019 gixxer 750. You guys have such good content
Daytona 765 Moto2 edition coming! :D
He was a very fundamental man, obviously speaking fundamentally.😂
TIGERICK if i heard that word one more time !! fundamentally i'd lose my mind !! #just
build the dam
765 i want 1 lol
This is a fundamental comment
Bet you're glad MotoGP didn't move the race day to Monday ;)
just piss in my coffee why dont you?
Just got one, love this bike. Can't wait to do a full system, sprint filter, fueling module and dyno it.
I've already started to save money to buy this beauty 😀..
2020-2021😋🙌
That engine soundtrack is music to the ears! Many would buy a road going Daytona 765 for the sound alone. The fact they handle as if on rails & that great feeling front end is simply a bonus. 👍
I'm here in 2024 just to hear my bike unleashed. Gorgeous sound. So strong. I can't get enough of my 765.
Please revive the Daytona please. They will build this bike. When people show interest in the Moto2 races. They will buy it.
Need one of those engines in a sidecar!
Triumph has a winner product now, they should realize that and they should not let this opportunity run out of their hands, for their own sake. :)
I stopped myself buying 675r cause I want this one
So did I.
So did i
im more than willing to buy it....
😂 Al it sounds like you're actually on the vinegar strokes whilst you're trying to talk and ride
😂😂 it really does
It makes almost 170hp if anyone was wondering
Where did you read that?
riders.drivemag.com/news/here-s-the-new-triumph-765-moto2-engine
A fully built gsxr 750 motor makes about 170 so it makes since that this purpose built race motor for the second highest motorcycle class in the world makes that. Attached story below
@@kyleshady21 but the gsxr is a inline 4 what engine configuration is the triumph?
Kenneth Kinnaird inline triple
Definitely the baddest sounding Moto2 on the track! Awesome!!! 😯
So how do we motivate Triumph to build it. Hashtags? Ask the dealership? Social Media? Like what can we do to motivate them? Serious question.
Triumph already know the demand of the 765. Sit tight.
Spam every social media they have, it worked with Indian on the FTR1200 😁
Give them a deposit (or advanced payment) towards purchasing a 765 Daytona....
Attention Triumph-- Let me be crystal clear here: I WILL BUY THAT BIKE IF YOU BUILD IT.
Sorry for the all caps. I wanted to make sure they could read w/o their reading glasses.
Please produce this bike Triumph!!!🙏🏽
Demand... DEMAND!?!?! We've been screaming for this for years! You have one GUARANTEED purchase right here (765R please!) so please get on and offer it! Also, can we have an option to purchase that fairing colour scheme please? It's mega!
I would def buy a daytona 765. Test rode the street triple 765 and it was such a lovely engine size with 3 cylinders, a 765 daytona would be a nice competitor to the gsxr 750, i would def buy that bike ;)!
Mr. Steve Sargent, "I AM WILLING TO BUY A 765RS DAYTONA!"
This is the most awaited bike of the year .. it sounds and looks soo insane!
I'd bet my year's salary there isn't a trackday event in the land where the words "I'd love a new Daytona" aren't spoken or thought.
ducati club?
Fagan's reactions are based upon what he knows he can do with the machine. Mine would be me poo-ing myself.
What a beautiful beast 🖤
Fundamentally 😂
Sounds like my 2014 fz09....i wish mine had the lean angle capability, I just scrape the engine lol...
WE NEED IT!! The 675 has been by far one of the greatest bikes i have ever owned. I don't normally like to biy the same bike twice. But, the Daytona always has me crawling back, begging me to buy her and ride again. The 765 comes out ill sell everything to get it.
I want that bike. I'm willing to pay for that bike. It is the future for road sports bikes. 600 inline 4 are too focused, 1000cc plus of any configuration are too powerful. The 675 triple is on it, the money, the power, the sound, the passion. Where is the order book? Triumph have such an opportunity here to get early interest and I'd bet they'd also get people like me willing to put on a waiting list with a deposit which will also help raise the initial capital to get this into production. Reckon this could be the sports bike equivalent of the BMW GS...
This would be the first Triumph I‘d consider buying...
All those standard 1000cc bike‘s have gotten fat at around 200 kg.
Ok, it sounds great. But, will this make Moto2 better to watch? Triumph will have to work hard to match the Honda Moto2 motor reliability. As an owner of multiple Triumphs, they are exciting, but they break.
Screaming out for One make 765 Daytona UK race series. Make it and I will buy one, it will be the last new road bike I ever buy! So definitely please build one AND have that one make race series in the UK ... lets get some of our boys on par with the Spanish riders by giving them a leg up with Moto2 Spec bikes.
I’m looking to return to bikes after a 12 year absence and can’t believe to demise of sport bikes. It’s all naked now! I had a 955 Daytona many years ago but the super sport class was always my favourite. A 765 Daytona would be 👌!
I only found out yesterday that Triumph no longer make a sports bike. Couldn’t believe it. Well then, that means either Ducat 959 or MV F3 800 for me then. I will be buying one or the other. A pity there is no British option.
Well with supersport all but dead there's no need to keep building the 675, Trumpet need to make a road legal version of this, and a 'litre' bike 1050/1075 Daytona. Also by the Queens holy teaset that's a stunning looking thing.
A road version 765..''it'll be great for Triumph, great for Britain '',but probably made in Thailand!!??😕
I’m having a hard job understanding this. They have an engine from other models they can use, they have a rolling chassis. They have bodywork. They have a bike. What’s so complicated about putting it on the market? They’ve already done 90% of the work.
@44teeth - what chassis was in this bike you rode? A normal Daytona chassis or something from kalex et al?
Cool to hear the bike, not cool to hear all of the “it’s pretty close to what moto2 will be running”. How close is that exactly?
It was all pretty much explained. It is more or less a stock Daytona frame and swinging arm. The reason being is that the geometry is close to what all the teams (not just one team, or a couple of teams) are running already, so only a few tweaks required to get it there, possibly only in terms of fork and shock / linkage length. Saves Triumph a wad of cash in development.
I whould be very interested in a new Daytona, but I think it whould be down to the price. If they could get it to sell between 10k€ and 11k€, I think there whould be many out there to get it, but if it is higher priced, I think the majority of people whould again look towards the 1000cc bikes.
Anyway, awsome looking and sounding bike!
765 daytona pls.... pls...... Have my first born to work your factories in Thailand/ malaysia if i we can have a 765.
There will be nothing better in the world than my 1999 Daytona but if i had to replace it, it will be with this Daytona 765 for sure.
Hurry TRIUMPH, make a real bike not thoses fake vintage shits that your are trying to sell today !
I remember when Moto2 was introduced in 2010 and everyone bragged about the bike performance and sound....
Coming from a K4 gsxr 750 I wouldn't mind having dat triumph instead. That bike looks freaking sexual 👉👌👍
In the market for a middle weight bike... Triumph make a road bike from this would you.
Great video again lads! Just a heads up, UA-cam has removed the bell notification for my subscription to your page again today for 3rd time over the past few months...not sure what they are playing at but I sure a shit didn't unclick it. Just thought you should know in case your views etc are down. Cheers
Still waiting..
Damn, what a cool bike. When is Triumph going to give us what we want? Skip the foreplay and just build a Daytona liter bike.
My PCP deal finishes in Jan 2020. That's all I'm saying (and I'm 6' 2" so please can you make it with adjustable rearsets and an adjustable seat)
I really wish the vocabulary of motorcycle enthusiasts wasn’t restricted to the “fundamental” basics. 🙏 your talking about technical advances like your trying to sell a laptop in curry’s. 😂
I’m a bit surprised how little power it makes for gp2I mean gsxr 750 makes around 130 on the back wheel standard. Is it the rules?
'50 pencing into the corners'.... took me a bit to figure out what the fuck you were talking about. 6 corners of a 50p coin. HA... awesome. Good bike then!
Suggestion..... put a separate digital sound recorder (with a dead-cat sock) inside a backpack and record the bike sounds separate from your voice. Adjust bike sound levels independent of voice levels later in video software.
I expect huge number of engine blowouts. Honda had zero engine problem, Triumph is not Honda. Triumph is just a brand that is trying to make a name for itself.
I actually WILL watch moto 2 next year. They were so boring with the Honda motors. Now I have to explain to my wife why I have a bulge in my pants...
Interesting that the power figure isn't mental but more that adequate for the road. I think bikes should be aiming more at the feel and noise than outright power nowadays... My old 750 had about 125bhp and on the road it was more enjoyable than having more power
I ride a 2012 Triumph Daytona 675R. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a 765R if that came out.
A bit weird design going on there. The tail, middle, front, and wheels all look like they came from completely different bikes. The tail looks alright but not great and almost matches the totally awesome new middle bodywork. The front and wheels looks dated and don't match anything else on the bike... just weird. The middle section bodywork is really cool though. They should do the rest of the bike to match!
