This piano version of the song evokes my most inner child memories playing all the legend of Zelda games, and makes me feel even for a hour the careless and happiness of being a child.. running the hyrul field and dungeons.. being an adult now 25 with bills and responsibilities, it can be so chaotic. This makes me tear
Oh the glorious nostalgia. Back in time to countless hours playing Zelda when my boys were young. Now they're 29 and 20, God I miss those days. Lovely version , thank you.
Aww, I couldn't help but be moved by your comment. 'Cause I spent so much hours playing Zelda with my mother, those memories are among the most precious ones I have.. It must be unforgettable for them too !
This Is actually a natural instinct from way back A primal instinct that calms anxiety and makes you feel safe because predators tend to avoid rain also, which meant you were safe Fun fact
Ocarina of Time was such an immersive game to play when I was a kid. It will forever have a place in my heart. It was an escape from the weird anxiety of life when I was a kid in middle school. Back when I wished I could be grown up and acquire all the freedom and privileges of an adult, only now to be an adult and yearn for the simplicity and nostalgia of my childhood.
Some people never truly understand that it's music and art that makes a game phenomenal. Nintendo though, has gone above and beyond with this. Thanks for this, keep it up!
@@solveigsonntag5724 It does. It's just that in a game so big, the music gets a lot more sparse in comparison. Miphas theme for example is just as beautiful as this.
Isn't it weird that memories are often way more powerful than the actual event. Walking around in kakariko as Link seems so trivial......but remembering .....that's a whole different story
This is my absolute favorite song. Because it brings up so many emotions in one simple tune. Longing, nostalgia, growing old, and most of all, regret. Even though Link saved all the ones he cared about and sacrificed everything for his friends, he was cursed to never be remembered by the ones he saved. He never moved on from Ganondorf and couldn’t pass down his abilities to his children or relatives, and eventually became a shade with unfinished business, his memory fading to time. Only did he find peace when he taught all of his skills to another hero like himself... Like the man in the windmill, Link couldn’t forget his anger, rage, and his inner storm. Thats what this song represents. Its the tune of restless spirits and of eventually finding peace and clarity. It’s also really catchy...
Goddamn that's deep, and sadly accurate. Link never got to truly retire, or be on his own, his soul destined to be re-incarnated to....the next and the next, never getting to be himself. As a memory in BOTW states, that he is meant to be a fighter, but what would he be without that? what else could his destiny fuffil if he was not bound by this curse?
@@thesilentshadow1256 The truth is that his life isn't his own. He's just someone born to do greatness and nothing else. Each iteration of Link probably knows this. OoT Link was kind of the only one to actually have more to his story than just being a hero. Each version of Link is born into Hyrule only to become a hero, and nothing else. Their life isn't truly their own, they are controlled by their own destiny that they must fulfill. The only way out would be to end the cycle by dying, which means the only way to end that cycle is by letting Hyrule fall. They exist purely to fulfill the task of saving Hyrule, then they get tossed aside for the next hero to take their place. Edit: now that I think about it, even in the timeline where OoT Link died before saving Hyrule, the cycle of heroes still continued anyway. So no matter what Link does, he's eternally bound to this endless cycle of becoming a hero and then getting cast away.
@@dominicbonogofski cast away yes, but than it isn't like it is a different Hero either, he is forced to re-incarnate, his consciousness and soul, to the next generation. Each Link does have his own story, feelings and life, but it is all for not, as fate truly has other plans. Demise's curse at first seems heroic, but in reality, it is pure torture.
@@thesilentshadow1256 The Triforce itself was a curse. Which reminds me: why did Zelda not just let Link murder Ganon in OoT? If she just let Link kill Ganon, then Ganon would've never been reincarnated because he was actually dead. His piece of the triforce would've been left behind for Link and Zelda to take back. Which brings me to my next question: who was the idiot who decided ZELDA of all people would be chosen to hold the triforce of wisdom when she was too incompetent to realize that if she just let Link kill Ganon, then the triforce of power would be theirs to take back?
This song and this video have helped me through some of the most stressfull moments from the past few years, I always come back to it and feel incredibly happy that it exists.
This music makes me feel like im on a serene hillside while the rain falls down upon my face and the time slows down so i can enjoy the feeling of being free and stressless and worryless
Please please please, never remove this from UA-cam. Ocarina Of Time is easily the most magical story ever told and even now aged 38, it never fails to tug on my heart strings. ❤️
@pim8456 Totally agree. There's a lad on UA-cam and Discord who's remaster it himself on Unreal Engine, I dont think it's the entire game though. What he's done is incredible though. If only Nintendo would buy it off him. I'll be 40 just before you then... Hope it's a great one. 👍🏽
My son loved the opening of zelda ocarina of time and he still falls asleep to it and im currently pregnant with my second child and everytime i play this lullaby he instantly moves towards the music and stays there my husband loves it too so we all go to sleep to this Thank you so much for creating such a work of art god bless you🥰
Thank you for this. I received news last night that my dad got into a bad car accident. The suspense is killing me. Even though the feelings aren't great, listening to this makes me think I'm in one of those series or films where something tragic just happened and the main character is reflecting on life. At this point, I realize that even if my dad survives from his injuries, I will need to step up and become the man of the family. I pray to God to give me the strength and courage to endure anything, and I pray for my dad's healing. But to be honest, he has had a very unfortunate life and I feel like his time may be up soon. Like in a video game, there are ups and downs in life, challenges and quests that will make you angry and even feel like giving up. But at the end, we know that the main character must win. The only thing that is required is to keep playing along, to do what's honorable, to save those who need saving, and to become the hero who has achieved his/her purpose. Thank you once again for this masterpiece. It's making me want to cry but it also reminds me I have a mission to finish and a journey to navigate.
So as i stand here, With tears crawling down my face and the sky crying out with tears twice the size; you said not to grieve, though grieving I may be, grieving the loss of a memory. _"Do you remember me?"_

It sound so sad, as if people stopped coming to the windmill so guru-guru went out of business and his instrument broke. But I still love this song and have been looking for a version like this! Thank you, you deserve all of everyone’s Rupees and more.
I cant help but imagine link returning to the village, destroyed, cold, and desolate. There isnt a single soul in sight except the memories of what once was an energetic little village. Times are suddenly different now. Link is no longer the little boy he once was, and the rest of the world has moved on. So god damn beautiful. I really wish there would be an animated Ocarina of time movie or series or something just so I can see this kind of scene alone. Theres so much more about this game than people realize. Just a little recommendation: ua-cam.com/video/GyUcwsjyd8Q/v-deo.html
Well he didn't own it beforehand, but do to what he would bear as a curse, the song of storms, turned him insane the rights were handed over. Guru guru is a travelling musician. He got the original owner's consent to stay and work on a musical piece.
This brings me back to a time long ago, it took me about 3 years to complete ocarina of time as I got stuck in different parts and stopped playing for months at a time until it drew me back in, this is circa 2003, in the end it was nice to finish the game but I realised the joy was in the journey, going into links world was magical, the whole sound and music of this game was like no other, it just feels like a big warm hug with friendly tingles up the spine
The floating melody, sobering lows, and a subtle reverb echoing through the whispering hiss of the rain, gently striking the damp ground. Together, they create a sort of dream-like quality. This really is something special.
Lol about 2 days ago I got stuck outside in a thunderstorm storm and it started to rain I was 7-8 miles away home on my bike and the entire ride back trying to hurry to my house as it was coming down hard this song was playing in my head
This song was played during the happiest moments of my life, but now causes me to cry endlessly during the saddest, as I look back and reminisce.. where did I go wrong?
You never did any wrong, the wrong came to you, and you had no choice but to wait and accept it, for fate is cruel, and not but Gods can control their own.
Seeing the comments about the dislikes makes me want to remind everyone that 1) people have different tastes, 2) it doesn't mean it's "bad", and 3) most videos have around 10% of the dislikes as likes, no matter what it is. Lovely twist on some nostalgic music. Can't wait to listen more!
Wow, this is perfect for easing someone to sleep! I came across this late last night as I was endlessly scrolling through videos, and it just knocked me right out.
A few days ago, I couldn't sleep and I had a big day the next day, so my brother offered to play this video for me, and it helped me fall sleep. And then I had a dream that I was standing in my front yard during a thunderstorm, playing Song of Storms on my ocarina. That was probably the best dream I've ever had. Thank you Nintendo for making such an amazing game. Thank you dad for introducing The Legend of Zelda to me. Thank you brother (who shall remain nameless) for staying up so late to help me fall sleep and make sure I was asleep. 💜💜💜

I strangely find this very hard to listen to. It brings back strong emotions of childhood and makes me think about the passage of time… it felt like just yesterday I was 9 or 10 playing this … now I am 34…

Memories.. are so clear. I don’t know what happened here. Seven years ago... this much I don’t know. Seven years, on that day... when that wretched song was played... I heard the song of storms... Hello boy. Have no fear. What do you think your doing here. I’m a music man, play for me if you can. Go around, and around. What fun I’m so happy now. Then he played the song of storms. Wind and rain, that tune is strange. Why has everything been changed. What is it you’ve done. Ruined all my fun. Way to fast! Somethings wrong. What the heck is going on. Can’t forget the song of storms. I hear it now in my head curse that ocarina kid. Why’d it have to be, such a catchy melody. What is this? Why are you? Oh, you have an ocarina to? Let me share the song of storms..........
Thank you all the help create the greatest video game i ever played. Late 90's was a great time to be alive as a kid and ill never forget it and you link helped me get through it. 25 years later i still remember all the songs and stages of the game and brings me back. Thank you 🙏. Now im 33 with my own kids and im trying to get too play zelda but they more interested on the phone and roblox. Anyways thank you 🗡🛡💚
Many years ago as a child I had a disheartening experience with this song for it reminded me of the merry go round in big boos haunt. After the piano and the eel in jolly roger bay especially. My aunt calling the merry go round "creepy as f@#%" my personal feelings about the song of storms being centered around a merry go round theme in ocarina of time. I had learned I had shattered my own joys from such a personal experience with the game. It wasn't until I had grown up to accelerate my learnings and understanding the diversity of what life had to offer. Now as an adult I can sit down and appreciate this all the more. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that you need to get hit with a bunch of hellish experiences to enjoy your first experience you could not enjoy as a kid. Life will find a way to teach you about your priorities in life. We truly had something beautifully crafted for all of us. Instead we grew to greedy for our own good. Now listen to this song and reflect all that we have lost. May all find peace here.
I cried for the first time in awhile listening to this. Playing Ocarina of Time as a kid was my escape from this world. I used to be so hopeful for life. I thought if only I could be bigger then I wouldnt be in hell, but things have get worse and worse the older I get. Now I think of Link riding Epona through the fields of Hyrule again, despite knowing that things have always been hard. Im envious of those who have lived in generations before. No need to be lonely and sad. We're all friends here. Friends that meet up at a windmill and in memorys from long ago. Life goes on and on... things come and go. And maybe you will learn that its okay to be alone... and its okay to be with yourself. Then the loneliness will go away and you can open your eyes and Heart for other people... and they will recognize that you're a person that can handle both... loneliness and people. Until then? We're here.
Kind of helpful doing college works while hearing this, placing myself inside that melody one more time, as I did once in those nostalgic times. The Legend of Zelda won't leave us, those who were marked by its background. Thank you, Cristiano Zoucas, for posting this. You have made my study and sleep time way better, by far. Good night to y'all, partners
I learned how to play this magnificent piece of happiness on the piano and I love how it makes me feel. I cry every time I play it. Not because I’m sad but because it’s just so amazing and nostalgic. I’m turning 21 on Friday and I can’t help but think about my younger days and how much I’ve loved Nintendo and all of the Zelda games. When I was younger I played the legend of Zelda ocarina of time and I would just sit in the windmill for days and days. I know what I would have to do next because I’ve beaten the game so many times. But just sitting in the windmill and being on the game taking in the atmosphere of hyrule was just the beginning of my adventure that would take me through hard ships, triumphs and failures. But after all of that I finally beat every single Zelda game that has been released in the USA. I’m proud to be apart of the Nintendo and Zelda community. Im just so happy for everything I’ve gotten over the years. Thank you Nintendo!!!!! And thank you the legend of Zelda!!!
So many years have passed, but this song makes me cry every time. Ocarina of Time is not just a game, it is something that invades your soul and changes your entire life.
I put this on almost every other night to fall asleep to and never get tired of it, thank you Lily for this and thank you(owner of the channel) as well for uploading this version. And now I relax and sleep 💤

These. Are. My exact thoughts. But im just 24 😄

After owning Ocarina of Time since the day it was first released, I finally passed it on to my daughter last year.

That's so cute :o
As a kid who grew up playing video games with a parent - those memories are such a treasure! I'm sure your children appreciate them too :)

A primal instinct that calms anxiety and makes you feel safe because predators tend to avoid rain also, which meant you were safe
Fun fact
@Gamr Dusk pretty cool right?

I'm so sad Botw doesn't have that kind of Musik.
@@solveigsonntag5724 It does. It's just that in a game so big, the music gets a lot more sparse in comparison. Miphas theme for example is just as beautiful as this.

I couldn't play tloz as a kid so ;-;
Isn't it weird that memories are often way more powerful than the actual event.
Melancholy....

So as i stand here,
With tears crawling down my face
and the sky crying out with tears twice the size;
you said not to grieve, though grieving I may be,
grieving the loss of a memory.

Now you'll know
All the pain
That you've ever caused to me
Listen to my song of storms
----------------------------------------------
First some wind
And Then some rain
Then the thunder strikes the plains
Tears fall from my eyes
And the dark cloudy skies above
All this rage and all this pain
All because you left me
Crying in my sleep
Leaving me to weep
----------------------------------------------
You know what you've done
To leave me all undone
All for wealth, greed and selfishness
All this pain and sadness
All because of you
Now you know my pain
Now you know my rage
Feel the wrath of all you've done
This has been my song of storms.

I thought if only I could be bigger then I wouldnt be in hell, but things have get worse and worse the older I get. Now I think of Link riding Epona through the fields of Hyrule again, despite knowing that things have always been hard. Im envious of those who have lived in generations before.
