- It's a still, moon-lit night in Howl's moving castle. Watch the landscape change out the window as the castle traverses over countless mountain ranges. Calcifer's gentle wood-burning fire crackles nearby, along with occasional creaks and groans from the castle engine. Melancholy tunes resound from a nearby piano.
Maybe you'll be lulled to sleep like grandma Sophie on that fateful night when she stumbled upon the castle.

Howl’s fingers move softly across the ivory keys.
The C key shows signs of wear and tear and the b flat glimmers with an echo of magic, but it does not break his concentration.
As the music flows softly throughout the room Calcifers flames recede slightly and his eyes disappear behind the smoldering wood. Every once in a while he snorts and snores, releasing a puff of sparks and ash into the air before dozing off again.
Watching Calcifer silently, Sofie sits. She takes a moment to admire the yarn she weaves expertly, it flows from her hands onto the ground, snaking it’s way from the floor up the leg of the bed and onto Markl’s sleeping form.
She smiles and regards him for a moment before returning to her work- a blow of steam sounds outside and the castle shifts gently.
She has grown accustomed to its breathing, along with Calcifer’s sparking snores and Howl’s soft music, it lives within her, and around her.
Her eyes close. She does not rush to open them again- instead succumbing to the pull of drowsiness that sweeps over her.
Howl watches from his place on the piano- although his focus lays on her the notes still sound crisply from below his fingers. They play for her, without thought or effort. His muse.
A shimmer of magic fills each refrain, a connection between them, her breathing, his playing.
Before her, there was silence, a deafening loneliness.
But now he hears every note in her voice, every crescendo a bubbling laugh, every melody a conversation.
His fingers slow, his eyes close. His hands find their way to the final few notes- and then…
Then Sleep
A magical, soft sleep.
And the moon looks on with a brilliant light, watching the love and the music and the peaceful bliss that comes from within Howls Moving Castle.

Since Howl isn't sitting in that chair like he does in the movie, I keep thinking he's playing the piano. Sophie's probably sitting in a comfortable chair next to him, stitching, fixing holes in his clothes and Markl's.

Its the sound of the fire wood crackling, and fire looking at you, while the creeking sounds of the house moving, also the pitter patter of little mice shuffling through the cupboards. Its so relaxing to many of us that are stressed out.

This was what got me through the last year of my degree. It was probably the worst times in my life and having this on managed to calm me down or finally even able to sleep. I have never made a comment on any ambiance video before, but I felt that I had to on this one. Instantly, as soon as the video started playing, I could feel and imagine that I was in the castle, infront of the fire with a book and a cup, of tea while the castle was movie. This truly moved me. Absolutely wonderful, beautiful, and extremely well done.

I was trying to train my puppy to have wind down time by playing asmr. She hated rain sounds or fire crackling by itself, but this video calms her down every time! I used to use it to study in HS and now my puppy uses it to sleep.

I've listened to this ONLY for meditation for years. One day, I couldn't see it even though there are bunches of ghibli's playlist out there. Just... hard to describe. But thank you for sharing it one more time. Not only a playlist, It kept my memory since I was in my high school, graduated with a bachelor's degree, and still growing. But yah.... I am still a little apprehensive and calm girl in this place. Howl's, kitchen, and things....
Today I´m working in a homework and this help me so much to relax while I work in my final university homeworks; I have Autism, specially Asperger Syndrome and this is relaxing. I pray for my grandpa's life amidst a situation of power cut back in inida , he's on oxygen aids and now this happens ....he's in a very fragile state right now....anything could happen hes been in the ICU for over 40 days only today had he returned home....and I'm just replaying all the memories of him from back when he was doing well and happy with me. I can't imagine a next vacation without grandpa. I sleep in between my grandma and grandpa each time I go for vacations. It would never be the same without him...I'm.so afraid ...right now. If only he could make it through somehow....I can't...imagine a world without him init , I can't bring myself to accept his age and let go.....I love my grandpa sooo much ! Please be okay thatha ❤.

I just read the book. I procrastinated, so I had to read all 429 pages in 7 hours. It was such an unexplainably fun and mischievous book. It felt more realistic in some parts, but the movie and the book are equally amazing. I can't wait to read the second book! Such a sweet story with all the characters in the end.

It was 2007 or 8. In my 3rd grade. I was shaving my first adhd medicine crash and I remember being tired and bleh all day. Just stayed in my room napping and watching cartoon network. Howls moving castle and sprited away were what started my journey into anime so many years ago.

I used to be able to watch an ad at the front, and then fall asleep listening to this. Now UA-cam tells me if I use adblockers the video won’t work, the music stops every few minutes to play an ad, AND it ends on an ad. UA-cam has ruined relaxing
