I found this 3 almost 4 years ago in my darkest days, a NICU hoping my daughter would live... this playing in the background faintly, between beeps and bells of her machines, today I helped her get her Jammies on to this and have put her little sister to sleep with it... thank you for being the peace in my life.... eternally grateful xox
Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. Having gone through something similar with my son two years ago, I can empathize. An incredibly trying experience if there ever was one to begin motherhood or fatherhood like that, but made us aware from the start how precious and fragile this life we brought into the world really was.

There is something so amazing about the songs in all the studio ghibli films, something which cannot be explained by words, but rather by the incredible feelings you get from listening to them.
Is it just me or does anyone else also feel super emotional with a sad undertone when listening to these masterpieces? It's definitely relaxing, but for some reason, this music weighs down on my chest.

The current phase in my life is rather...exhausting. I'm studying 24/7 for med school. I still have 1,5 years to go, but looking back ghibli music has accompanied through so many years... sometimes i think without this music, i would have not made it throughout the years because it gets lonely pretty fast living like this... This music makes me feel less alone and takes me to a place where my soul can rest a little... even when I'm studying. Hahaha.

Growing up in an Asian household, Ghibli movies were bigger than Disney to me. I was often bullied for referencing Totoro or Spirited Away, but I still look back on those films and the music very fondly. Things weren't great back then, but I was really happy. This music makes me happy :)
I am related to you in another way. People keep asking me why I choose unpopular music as if it was an unwise thing to do and waste of time. When this collection exploded 1M now 2M, my way of music, faith of choice becomes hard solid as if nothing can sway me.

I used to listen to this all the time way back in high school almost 6 years ago studying for my IB exams. Today I stumbled upon it again for the first time since graduating high school while studying for my final semester of college. The nostalgia of this playlist almost has me in tears. several years ago, when I was a young teen (approaching a decade ago, jeez), i got my braces on, and I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I found this video and it was the only thing that I could sleep to for weeks. i was devastated when the video disappeared and my heart SOARED when it was re-uploaded. now anytime I can't sleep, I play this. filled with comfort instantly, every time. now when I hear the original music, I can't help but think of these beautiful piano covers. thank you ❤️❤️

I chose piano versions of Kaze no Tani no Naushika from Nausicaa and Merry Go Round from Howl's as our wedding ceremony music and now every time I hear those songs, it reminds me of that beautiful moment and that day.

Every night, my 2 kids, 2.5 and 4, go to bed to this music. It's been this way since my first was born, almost 4 years ago. They ask for it now and fall asleep instantly! Perfection.

The music in all ghibili films always give me a sense of infinity. Whenever I hear songs from ghibili films I always imagine myself in endless green field with a cool breeze, and a blue sky with bright white clouds. It’s very nostalgic as ghibili playlists were always played when my dad was driving my family to a trip or on our way home from a trip.
Although most people use this for studying and doing homework I think this is great for just an enjoyable summer afternoon or evening.

I know nobody may see this but I wanted to just put my gratitude out there. I just want to thank this channel for their relaxing, stimulating tunes as they help me on the daily. I recently came down with the flu and had a hard time relaxing.. I tried and tried to take as many naps as possible so that I could at least have a little bit of peace
I remember as a child, I used to watch Ghibli films with my parents, and that my parents would go out of the way just to get me the DVDs for the movies for us to watch as a family during movie nights. I never appreciated it as much as a kid but it really hits you when you're now on your own studying abroad and only seeing them once a year. Listening to this just reminded me of those times and that I need to make this temporary separation period from them worthwhile. I used to go to Japan when I was a child quite frequently to meet with my extended family over there. They would always let me watch studio Ghibli movies ever since a young age, like Totoro XDD though I didn't understand much as I wasn't fluent in Japanese yet. I hadn't visited them for a while when I first heard this collection, and it brought back so much nostalgia for me. I had UA-cam on shuffle whilst I was studying, and I heard Umi no Meiru Machi - recognising it immediately, but I could not tell where it was from. I checked the tab to see this video, and I've been coming back to it ever since I first found it 5 years ago. I haven't visited my family in a while, due to the pandemic and my own exams preventing me from doing anything other than studying. However, I do hope that I'll be able to return to them once again. Thank you for such a lovely collection!! It really helps me to feel better :))

Listening to this with my highschool sweetheart. She turned me to the ghibli collection and we’ve never turned our backs since. I’m in love with the culture it brings and the music speaks a second language only ghibli could help you understand.
It is a daily habit for me to listen to these music when i need to relax and zone out from the world... I legit feel like all the strees and worries im having at the moment are taken away from me
It's amazing how this music mixes sadness but also a light hearted joy at times.
This playlist is really wonderful for several reasons:
-First, there is the musical technique which is impressive and really innovative, there are many varied styles.
-Then, there are the memorable passages of these works that are full of emotions, they remain anchored in our minds.
-Finally, there is a much more personal and almost spiritual side that I find hard to explain. Let's say that these films and their music really touched me, with a grandiose beauty, when I was a child. When I listen to these works, I am crossed by a huge wave of nostalgia and emotions that come like images that make you cry, from the time when I was carefree! It's really hard to explain but personally, I have always been absorbed by the universe of Myazaki. And I think I'm not the only one to feel that way...
To finish, I wish you a good day ! Spend some time with your family, take some time for yourself, work on your goals, in short develop yourself, I'm going to see "My neighbor Totoro" again 👋

I love this compilation - been listening to it while writing my master degree thesis (while having a full time job, so it is very tiresome) - the music relaxes me and I get on with my duties - kudos
The gentle notes of a peaceful piano really do encite the emotion and beauty of these films. It gives in to the mood of the music and the films, each a wonder of their own. Whether you prefer sleeping in a forest with Totoro, or flying above the bathhouse with Haku, there's a mystical world out there waiting for you. It may be up high in Laputa, or maybe submerged in water, with Ponyo. It feels like I'm back in my childhood when I think of the joy I feel when watching these movies. I just today bought this book that tells the story of Hayao Miyazaki, and also shows the concept art of the movies. Every page speaks of the grace and creativity of the genius man himself, along with his adoring team. I highly recommend reading it. My love of these films go out to Studio Ghibli-♥

Studio Ghibli music has a sense of comfort in it .
